Before buying sneaker NFTs in STEPN, it's good to check these three points.

1. What's your walking/running speed?

There are a total of 4 types of sneakers in STEPN. 'Walker' is suitable for people who exercise at 1~6km/h, 'Jogger' is recommended for people who exercise at 4~10km/h, 'Runner' for 8~20km/h, and finally 'Trainer' which is efficient in all sections of 1~20km.

If you exercise outside of the specific speed range for the other 3 sneakers excluding the Trainer, the token collection efficiency drops sharply, so it is better to choose a sneaker that fits your exercise range. In the case of Trainer, efficiency comes out in all sections, but the disadvantage is that it is expensive.

Before buying sneakers, it is recommended to measure your walking or running speed and then buy sneakers. Run the STEPN app and press the 'Start' button without sneakers to measure your walking speed.

2. Which sneakers should I buy?

If you have chosen one of the four sneakers, now it's time to check the detailed stats of the sneakers. Efficiency increases the amount of GST tokens mined, and Luck increases the drop rate of mystery boxes and the probability of obtaining a high grade. Comfort reduces the consumption rate of the shoe's HP (separate from durability). Resilience reduces shoe durability consumption.

For those who are new to the game, we recommend sneakers with high Efficiency stats. It is good to choose sneakers with a basic base stat between 5 and 9.9, and it is even better if Comfort or Resilience is also high.

Additionally, what you need to check is the 4 gem sockets on the sneakers. There are 4 types of gems like sneakers, and Efficiency is indicated by E, Luck by L, Comport by C, and Resilience by R. The gem sockets on the sneakers are determined when the sneakers are created for the first time and cannot be changed. Sockets are activated one by one when the sneaker level is 5 (10 o'clock), 10 (2 o'clock), 20 (7 o'clock), and 30 (5 o'clock). Therefore, it is better to buy the one with E in the socket at 10 o'clock or 2 o'clock.

3. Finally, check the minting count

If you have found something you like with the type and stats of the sneakers, now it's time to check the minting number. If you have no intention of minting in the future, you don't have to worry about the number of minting. However, if you are interested in minting, it is recommended to purchase one with a minting count of 0 or 1. As the number of minting increases, the cost required for minting increases, and minting can only be performed up to 7 times, so you should consider this.
