Hearthstone expansion 'Showdown in the Badlands' releasing in November

Blizzard Entertainment unveiled Hearthstone's new expansion, 'Showdown in the Badlands,' on the 18th. With the launch of the new expansion in November, players will head to the wild west with legendary outlaws, two new keywords, and 145 new cards.

Here, the ruthless Sheriff Barrelbrim has established the Bloodrock Mining Company and is carrying out a bogus mining operation to seize all of the Azerite resources buried in Azeroth. In response, the Outlaws of Justice, led by Elise Starseeker, must save Azeroth from the menacing townspeople who threaten to destroy the Badlands altogether.

The Showdown in the Badlands expansion features two keywords: 'Quickdraw' and 'Excavate'. Quickdraw is a keyword that increases the chances of survival in the Badlands, and cards with this keyword grant bonus effects on the turn they are added to your hand, so playing the card immediately will maximize its effect.

The other keyword, Excavate, rewards players with treasures from the Azerite mine. Each time you Excavate, you discover a random treasure card corresponding to the current tier and advance to the next tier. Once you acquire the final tier treasure, the mine is depleted, and you start over from the beginning in a new vein.

Death Knights, Mages, Rogues, Warlocks, and Warriors are townspeople, and excavating four times will grant each class a unique legendary Excavate treasure. On the other hand, Demon Hunters, Druids, Hunters, Paladins, Priests, and Shamans are Outlaws of Justice who can collect powerful legendary Outlaw minions, which gain additional effects if there are no duplicate cards in your deck.

Starting today, October 18 (all times listed are Korea Standard Time), all players who log in to Hearthstone will receive the 'Thunderbringer' legendary card, which has the Taunt ability and a Deathrattle ability that summons Elementals and Beasts from your deck.

You can pre-purchase the Showdown in the Badlands expansion starting on the 18th. The Showdown in the Badlands Mega Bundle includes 80 card packs, 10 Golden card packs, 1 random Signature Legendary card, 1 random Golden Legendary card, and the Ulfar hero skin and card back. The Standard Bundle includes 60 card packs, 2 non-Golden random Legendary cards, and the Ulfar card back.

In the latest seasonal Ranked mode, Twist, Ungoro returns for the November season. You can build a deck using cards from the Journey to Ungoro expansion in addition to cards from the existing Legacy set, and the Demon Hunter and Death Knight classes are excluded from Twist.

Participating in the event hosted by the Cursed Knight will allow you to earn wild west-themed items to decorate your hero, and you can challenge the BlizzCon quest to earn a special card back.

More detailed information on the Showdown in the Badlands expansion and pre-purchase can be found in the official blog post. More information about Hearthstone can be found on the official website, and screenshots and other materials can be found on the Blizzard Press site.
