'Zeka' Kim Geon-woo, "Forget today's Akali"
Hanwha Life Esports defeated Kwangdong Freecs in the Round 1 match of the '2023 LoL Champions Korea (LCK)' Summer Split held at LoL Park in Jonggak on the 17th, marking their second win of the season. 'Zeka' Kim Geon-woo, who pulled out Yone for the first time in the Summer Split, played an all-around role in the laning phase, team fights, and side lanes, earning the POG for the first set. However, 'Zeka' himself seemed to remember his Akali play in the second set, which he found more disappointing than the first set where he was selected as POG.
In a broadcast interview, 'Zeka' said, "I'm happy we won, but personally, I'm very disappointed with the last game." He added, "I've always thought Akali is good against Azir in the laning phase and team fights, so I picked her. But, I hope you forget my Akali today," expressing deep regret.
He continued, "I remember about 4 or 5 moments. If I had played as I usually do in just one of those moments, I think we would have won (easily)." He also conveyed his determination, saying, "I played so poorly today. If I get another chance to prove myself, I definitely want to do it."
On this day, 'Zeka' also wore his Worlds championship Akali skin, and showed off his recall animation as soon as he arrived in the mid lane.
