I will start the Grom production story, which was fun, difficult, joyful, and happy (?) with many people.

 

On August 14, 2014, World of Warcraft (hereinafter referred to as WoW) held an offline event 'Draenor World Premiere' to commemorate the release date announcement of the new expansion 'Warlords of Draenor'.

  

 

 

Despite the late hour, about 400 #WoW players participated together at 'Move Hall' in Hongdae, burning their passionate interest in Warlords of Draenor.

 

The teaser video of Warlords of Draenor, which was released on this day, was enough to set fire to the hearts of many #WoW players. Krooo~

 

 

 

 

 

 

On this day, the CEO muttered to himself after watching the teaser video.

 

"Grom dies..."

 

And about a month later, one day, the CEO went to a meeting at Blizzard Korea and

 

Gathered all the Spiral Cats members and said.

 

"I have to make Grom."

I think he just wanted to cosplay after watching the video and getting inspired. Hehe

 

 

Grom Hellscream, who started production like this, will it go well?

 

At first, I was very worried, but the other work went smoothly.

 

Okay! Then let's finally start!

The suit was severely torn at the neck during the process of taking out the first result, which was a test, from the mold and became unusable.

 

Putting it on a mannequin makes it clear how big the suit is.

 

  

 

Problems found in test wearing

 

The suit made using expanded urethane was unexpectedly too heavy to wear ㅠ_ㅠ...

 

 

  

 

After that, there were many failures and prototypes piled up

 

After a long meeting, it was decided to make the suit out of hot foam instead of urethane.

 

It took longer than expected because it was not easy to replace the material with a new material.

 

 

 

 

At this point, many of the people who participated in the production were tired and exhausted.

 

As time passed...

 

 

After several tests... Finally, a new suit appeared!!!

The suit baked using hot foam was very light and elastic.

Because Grom's head was very large, it was impossible to wear a regular wig, so the wig was custom-made. (Wig circumference 60cm)

After a long time and effort, we have finally reached the stage of almost completing the rough parts. ㅠㅠ

Special makeup is everyone's job, but general props such as arm or leg armor are my responsibility.... ㅠㅠ

I had no choice but to stay up all night alone. ㅠㅠ

A big crisis came to our team without anyone knowing...

During the production period, there was the CEO's birthday party....

At this birthday party, the CEO collapsed due to excessive drinking due to the excitement of having many people visit...;;;

 

I want to quit...

Everyone is in a panic...

 

  

 

Who else but the CEO, who has digested the Angel of Laughter series and giant doll masks, would wear that and run around at the event....

 

 

 

 

 

 

But!

There was a ray of light that appeared at this time, and his name is ~

 

Sett!!
