New foam party shooter 'Foamstars' releases on February 6th
Square Enix's foam party shooter game 'FOAMSTARS' will be officially released on February 6th. At the same time, from the release date of February 6th to March 4th, it will be added to the 'February Monthly Games' list of PS Plus, and those who have subscribed to PS Plus will be able to download the game immediately without paying additional fees.
Square Enix's new game 'FOAMSTARS' is a 4vs4 team battle shooting game where you fight with 'foam' that remains on the field as you shoot it, and you can enjoy it like a party. Since multiplayer is the basis of the game, you cannot play it unless you subscribe to PS Plus, a paid PSN account service. If you subscribe to PS Plus in February, you can download FOAMSTARS for free as a monthly game, and after the monthly game period of March 4th, the game will be converted to a paid sales format. From this point on, you must first purchase the game title and maintain PS Plus to play the game.
■ FOAMSTARS Game Content - ① Battle Mode
Battle Mode is the most representative game content of FOAMSTARS, and it is a game mode where you can enjoy 'Foam Smash', competing with the opposing team by shooting foam. Immediately after release, you can play Battle Mode with three rules.
· SMASH THE STAR - If you defeat the opposing team's players a total of 7 times, the player who has played the biggest role on the opposing team will be selected as the 'Star Player'. At this time, you can win by defeating the opposing team's Star Player first.
· HAPPY BATH SURVIVAL - A method of dividing into inner and outer fields and battling two players each, and winning by defeating all the opposing team's players in the inner field. The players in the inner field must defeat all the opposing team's inner field players, and the players in the outer field must support the allies in the inner field.
· RUBBER DUCK PARTY - A method of winning by moving the 'Rubber Duck' in the center of the stage to the goal point of the opposing camp. When a player gets on the Rubber Duck's head, it starts moving, and at this time, if you succeed in dancing to the end, there is a bonus element that temporarily increases the Rubber Duck's movement speed.
■ FOAMSTARS Game Content - ② Mission Mode
'Mission Mode' is a sub-content that protects 'Bath Vegas' against the rushing foam monsters. It is characterized by being able to practice the operation of each Foam Star or enjoy cooperative play, rather than PVP content that unfolds battles with other players. Here, you can also choose two modes with different charms.
· FOAMSTAR MISSION - A solo mission that can be played alone, and you can learn how to play according to the personality of the six Foam Stars by clearing the mission. It is characterized by being able to feel the charm of each character through the conversations that the Foam Stars have.
· SQUAD MISSION - A team mission that challenges with up to four colleagues, and you can strengthen the abilities of the Foam Star each time you defeat the attacking foam monster group.
■ FOAMSTARS Game Content - ③ Challenge
The challenge is divided into a total of three types: 'Always-on Challenge', 'Limited-Time Challenge', and 'Weekly Challenge', and it is content where you can obtain various rewards by clearing it. In particular, if you achieve 'Reach Player Level 3' in the Always-on Challenge, you can unlock the new Foam Star 'The Master'.
Square Enix announced along with the release date announcement that 'New updates to Foamstars will be carried out every season'. Each time a season update is carried out, season-limited content, skins, new characters and maps, and new battle rules will be added.
In addition, a 'Season Pass' will be introduced where you can acquire limited rewards for each season. The Season Pass is a system that allows you to move to a higher tier and acquire more powerful rewards by using EX that is accumulated each time you play a battle or mission. Square Enix said that you can acquire the Foam Star 'Melty' in the first season pass that starts immediately after the release of Foamstars, so be sure to raise your season tier and acquire Melty.
