Post

Which is better, 18 Ether or 22 Caruta? A post for endgame gear.

The reason for writing this is simple.

I was thinking about this, and people just kept saying that 18 Ethernal is better...
Of course, it may vary from person to person, server to server, and time to time.
But after equipping one piece, I think you should just go for CRA.
This comparison is based on liberation. Both can be liberated anyway, and there's no problem with hunting before liberation.
There's no reason to compare before liberation.

1. Star Force Basic Option Comparison
18 Ethernal
Hat+Top+Bottom = Main stat 453, Attack Power 157, Ignore Enemy Defense + 5%

22 CRA
Hat+Top+Bottom = Main stat 451 + Attack Power 261

I excluded Ignore Enemy Defense 5% because it's practically meaningless. If you want to calculate that too, just add it.
As specs are gradually increasing, I will calculate 1 Attack Power as 3 Main stats.

In conclusion, 18 Ethernal Main stat 924 vs 22 CRA Main stat 1,234 increase CRA Main stat 31% win
This is when 1 Attack Power is calculated as 3 Main stats, and you should also be aware that the spec range you're considering this for is mostly higher than 3 Main stats per 1 Attack Power, and in this case, CRA wins even more overwhelmingly.

2. Star Force Basic Option + Set Effect

Based on liberation, you get each 4-set effect.
I will calculate 1% Boss Damage = 1% Main stat.
18 Ethernal Attack Power 120, All stats 50, Boss Damage 30% vs 22 CRA Main stat 20, Attack Power 50, Boss Damage 30%

18 Ethernal Main stat 710 increase vs 22 CRA Main stat 470 increase
18 Ethernal wins with a Main stat increase of 240

When calculating basic options + set effects

22 CRA wins with a Main stat increase of 70.

3. Additional Stats + Potential
Most of the time when recommending 18 Ethernal, they calculate CRA with 110 additional stats and Ethernal with 170 additional stats.
Does this match the actual auction house?
Even if you only look at CRA additional stats in a populated server, there are plenty of 125+ and you often see 130+ and 140+.
However, you have to roll Ethernal yourself.

This is the expected value for the Ethernal 170 additional stats that everyone talks about. You need to roll over 860 Eternal Rebirth Flames.
I won't include this in the price. You might have the mindset that you can eventually roll it with event flames.
However, please consider the utility of using those flames on liberation weapons, accessories, or other tradable items.
Most people who craft themselves will probably get stuck at around 140~150 additional stats unless they buy flames with money.

I just want to tell you that Ethernal 160~170 additional stats, which people talk about easily, is definitely not easy.
However, CRA additional stats 120~140 is just a matter of clicking in the auction house.

Realistically calculating with CRA additional stats 130 and Ethernal 166 additional stats
In the case of upper potential, Ethernal is calculated as 30% and CRA as 27%
In the case of additional potential, Ethernal is calculated as Main stat 5% Attack Power 11, CRA Main stat 4% Attack Power 10

18 Ethernal wins with a Main stat increase of 129 from potential and a Main stat increase of 108 from additional stats, for a total Main stat increase of 237.

4. Star Force Basic Option + Set Effect + Additional Stats + Potential

18 Ethernal vs 22 CRA = Ethernal wins with a Main stat difference of 16.7%.

- Conditions
Those whose spec results in an efficiency of 3 Main stats per 1 Attack Power
Ethernal additional stats 166, CRA additional stats 130 standard
Potential is Ethernal upper potential 30% additional potential 5% Attack Power 11, CRA is upper potential 27% additional potential 4% Attack Power 10 standard

5. Price
Okay, I understand that Ethernal is 16.7% better if you equip it like that.
So how much does it cost to equip?

- Ethernal (All self-crafting is calculated based on the top 30% with the hope that my luck is amazing)
Unenhanced price 2 billion
Upper potential top 30% standard 6.66 billion
Lower potential top 30% standard 1.39 billion
15% scroll 1 billion
Upper potential - Assuming all 3 parts have unique potential, 400 million per part, unique -> legendary top 30% standard 1.13 billion
18 Star Force - Calculated at the lowest price based on Shata Force, MVP Diamond, and not using Superior Shield Wards because I'm a real man3.75 billion
Additional stats - Not pricing it with the mindset that it will eventually appear with free flames

I had the hopeful thought of making 18 Ethernal additional stats 166, upper potential 30%, additional potential 5% Attack Power 11 for a total of 15.93 billion.
For reference, I didn't even include the cost of upgrading additional potential to epic.
You can decide whether to try it or not.

- CRA
CRA is unconditionally based on clicking in the auction house.
This may be subject to change, and I will roughly search based on the current Scania server.

These are currently priced at 14.421 billion.
Prices are gradually decreasing, and based on 27% additional potential 4% Attack Power 10
Those with 4 or fewer trade counts are between 11~13 billion, and those with more are around 14~15 billion.
In some cases, even if legendary/legendary with 4~5 trade counts is listed for 16~18 billion, it doesn't sell, so it seems like it will go down further.

In this post, CRA was simply compared with 27% additional potential 4% Attack Power 10, additional stats 130 standard
But in reality, it's an old item, so you can find better items at any time.
Of course, it's difficult to find good items by clicking in the auction house for 5 minutes, but in my experience, you can definitely find them if you look for a few days.

6. Conclusion
Now compare the self-crafting risk and the CRA price and make your own choice.
Even in the case of self-crafting, the price is based on the top 30%, Shata Force, MVP Diamond, and event items.

The statement that 18 Ethernal wins over 22 CRA
Is when you achieve the additional stats, potential, and attack power efficiency that meet the above conditions.
Don't forget that if even one thing is lacking, there is no difference from CRAOr it may even fall behind.
Don't forget that your character's attack power efficiency must be close to 3.
If the attack power efficiency is not 3 but converges to 3.5 or 4, the efficiency of CRA increases even more.

I recommend using a unique potential scroll on Ethernal and getting 2 lines 17 stars if you're raising a sub-character.
But I don't recommend it for your main character.
After making it like that, you can't touch Ethernal. You're not going to roll 3 lines of legendary yourself, and you're not going to enhance it, so a huge amount of resources will be consumed.

I think CRA is the right choice in the current situation for those who are thinking of getting 22 stars.
The choice is yours, and even if the price of CRA gradually decreases, I think that in the case of CRA with a certain number of trade counts guaranteed, it will converge to the appropriate self-crafting price of 18 Ethernal as long as it rivals the performance of 18 Ethernal.

Most Ethernal CRA comparison posts or videos only compare simple options and conclude that Ethernal is good.
They don't think about the process of raising the price and additional stats at all.
If I want to make Ethernal look good here, I can just set CRA additional stats to 110 and Ethernal additional stats to 170.
But who's going to raise Ethernal additional stats to 170? . . They just say they'll do it with event flames and move on.
If you look at the expected value? There's no answer. Until you raise it, it's a spec down in itself.
And even if you achieve those additional stats, the difference isn't big. Is there a need to take the risk?

Who doesn't know that 22 star Arcane is better than 22 star Absol? The problem is always the price and probability.
If you can't find an answer, you can try making one piece of Ethernal yourself.
You probably used even the event and thought you were quite lucky, but when you look at the money you spent, you probably spent at least 20~25 billion.
If you look at the CRA items you can buy with that money, they're basically legendary/legendary, and there are additional potentials with 2 lines to 3 lines.
And additional stats are 140 150 level monsters.

Self-crafting can't beat clicking. This will be the same in any game.
It seems that everyone is worried because self-crafting and clicking have come to a level where they can compete to some extent, whether it's because Ethernal came out or because the game is failing.

I hope this has been helpful to those who are worried.
