Yamanin Zephyr, poised to become one of Uma Musume's new milers, is a character with somewhat unique performance. This is because her unique skill and other skills depend on how well she maintains 2nd place during the race.
If you succeed in running in 2nd place throughout the race, you can easily take 1st place, but in other situations, the skill's performance is halved, making victory uncertain.
However, since most Uma Musume can also take 1st place if they consistently run in 2nd place with a lead strategy, she is considered a rather ambiguous pick in terms of performance. Especially in Champions Meetings, there are many situations where you can't run in 2nd place even if you want to, depending on the match-up and the ratio of strategies, so there are many evaluations that her stability is low.
In summary, she shows tremendous destructive power if she maintains 2nd place or a position near it while running, but it's good to think of her as an Uma Musume who is easily countered.
She is a dedicated miler. She is also used in short and medium distances, but since there are better Uma Musume, you can practically say that she is only used in mile races. It is worth noting that her dirt aptitude is D, so if you modify her a little, she can run well in dirt races.
It is difficult to recommend strategies other than lead because the activation condition of her unique skill is to run in 2nd place until the middle of the race.

The difference between activation conditions 1 and 2 is whether the rank is 2nd or not. However, since the skill performance is doubled or not depending on this one condition, you have to bet everything on taking 2nd place.
Like Gold City, the duration is longer than other unique skills, but the effect is smaller. If Shining Wind is activated at the same time as Fūun no Kokorozashi, it is inevitable that she will show invincible power.
However, both skills have the best effect when in 2nd place. Fūun no Kokorozashi even has a tricky condition of the distance difference from 1st place. As a result, Zephyr has become an Uma Musume who has to bet everything on how to maintain 2nd place during the race, making her a somewhat risky pick.
She has skills specialized in mile races such as Mile Corner and Gear Change, and she is fixed to the lead strategy because she has to activate Fūun no Kokorozashi.
Since the evolution skills you will receive later will not change the mile/lead conditions, there is no reason to go and run in other strategies or distances.
Zephyr does not have any hidden events that need to be taken care of separately.
