The official trailer for the 'Shadow of the Erdtree' DLC, which has thrilled 'Elden Ring' fans around the world, was finally released on the 22nd at 00:00.
In 'Shadow of the Erdtree', the Tarnished will leave the Lands Between and head to a new area, the 'Land of Shadow'. As the name suggests, the Land of Shadow is an area veiled by the Erdtree, and is known as the place where Queen Marika the Eternal, goddess of the Lands Between, first set foot.
The destination, which holds great significance for Marika's descendants, is the Land of Shadow, sought by Miquella, Marika's child, demigod, and Empyrean. Miquella, who abandoned his defiled flesh, power, and even lineage by Mohg in the main story, heads to the Land of Shadow for some reason, and the Tarnished follows him, facing a huge incident surrounding Miquella.
This trailer showcases the main areas of the Land of Shadow, new bosses that stimulate the spirit of challenge, and various Ashes of War. The video reveals an old mansion located in a canyon, ruins with lava boiling underground, and an ancient castle located on one side of the burnt Erdtree, suggesting that areas with diverse environments similar to the main game will appear.
New bosses include a burning giant reminiscent of a Burning Man, a boss that appears to be wearing a lion mask, and a knight riding a boar reminiscent of a Tree Sentinel. In addition, you can see that various new monsters have been added.
New weapons and Ashes of War are also added. There are Ashes of War that allow you to penetrate the enemy's rear with dual swords, spells that attack multiple enemies, crossbows that can be fired continuously, Ashes of War that unleash continuous kicks presumed to be Ashes of War for fist weapons, and even weapons that can transform you into an angelic figure. With the addition of many unique weapons and Ashes of War, it is expected to provide a different kind of combat fun from the main game.
The character presumed to be the final boss of the Land of Shadow has also been revealed through the trailer. Messmer the Impaler. He is a figure with demigod-specific golden glowing eyes and red hair reminiscent of Radagon. The exact identity of Messmer the Impaler has not been revealed. However, due to these characteristics, it is presumed that he is a member of the demigod, a descendant of Marika.
Meanwhile, the video ends with a scene showing Miquella, who appears to have been resurrected in the Land of Shadow, leaving behind the battle between the Tarnished and Messmer the Impaler.
