The 2024 LCK Academy Series Upper Division Tryouts, offering a glimpse into the potential of those dreaming of a League of Legends professional debut, were held at LoL Park on the 20th and 21st.

The LCK Academy Series Tryouts have been held regularly twice a year, in the first and second halves, since 2022. This tryout was attended by 50 people who passed the selection criteria out of 140 applicants, and the players' ages ranged from 2009 to 2001.
The tryout consisted of character education, scrimmages by group, individual interviews, a LoL Park tour, and a tryout Q&A session. About 60 people, including players and their parents, participated in this character education session. The speakers for the character education were Jung Moon-seok, CEO of P&P Healthcare, Lee Ji-hwan, team leader of OK Savings Bank Brion, Kang Byung-ryul, coach of KT Academy, and Kang Chan-yong, former League of Legends player 'Ambition', who gave lectures on topics such as preventing e-sports player injuries and the mindset and attitude of professional e-sports players.
In the full-fledged scrimmage session, about 25 officials from 10 LCK teams watched the participants' scrimmages and gave feedback to the players on the spot to check their play. In addition, each team held separate individual interviews with interested participants to further check their passion and attitude. 18 people participated in LCK team interviews over the two days.
In the 'Tryout Q&A' session, which was newly established this year, a total of about 60 people, including players and officials from 10 LCK teams, gathered in one place to exchange questions and answers. The players asked questions about what they needed to become professional e-sports players and the schedule when they joined the team. In addition, LCK team officials shared the mindset that players should have and how they can become the players the team wants.
One of the participants said, "It was great to be able to check my skills and have a Q&A session through the tryout." One of the team officials said, "At the tryout, I was able to meet many players and check their potential. I think it's an opportunity for the players."
Those who participated in the tryout on this day were given certificates of completion and souvenirs, and those who joined the LCK team academy through this tryout also have the possibility of participating in the 'LCK Academy Series Upper Division Academy League' that will follow.
In addition, registration for the 'LCK Academy Series Upper Division Academy League', in which LCK team academies participate, will be held from the 22nd to the 28th. The tournament will be held in a full league format from May 18 (Sat), and the playoffs are scheduled to be held in June.
Meanwhile, the LCK Academy Series is a stage where aspiring LoL players and LCK team academies participate to build their skills for their professional debut.
