Gen.G Esports has announced that it has strategically acquired GGtics, a data analysis-based game record search service company. Gen.G plans to further strengthen its leadership in the esports education and analysis market through this acquisition.
This acquisition is the first case of introducing cutting-edge analysis tools to esports education institutions, and reflects Gen.G's commitment to innovating the esports education industry and leading a new era in the gaming industry. In the future, Gen.G plans to support the growth of gamers and provide new experiences to esports fans through GGtics.
Park Yu-chan, CEO of Gen.G Global Academy, said, "The acquisition of GGtics will be an important milestone in Gen.G Esports' journey to lead innovation in the esports industry. With this acquisition, Gen.G Global Academy has been reborn as an esports education specialist with advanced data analysis capabilities, and has gained outstanding competitiveness."
With this acquisition, Gen.G Global Academy plans to further specialize in talent management and training based on GGtics' expertise, such as providing data-based predictions and reports, improved strategies and coaching, and cutting-edge analysis tools tailored to gamers.
First, Gen.G Global Academy plans to use GGtics' technology to provide predictions and reports on academy students, nurture them, and use them for scouting. By analyzing game trends with improved strategy and coaching technology, we will develop more sophisticated strategies and provide more accurate coaching to academy students and gamers. In addition, by introducing innovative analysis tools for gamers, it has become possible to derive detailed insights into gamers' strengths and areas for improvement.
Cha Min-chang, VP, Tech of Gen.G Global Academy, said, "GGtics is a leading company in the game data analysis market, and has expertise in analyzing gamers' strengths and weaknesses and deriving insights." He emphasized, "Through the merger of Gen.G and GGtics, Gen.G Global Academy will be able to apply its accumulated player analysis capabilities to education as a whole, providing future esports talent with the opportunity to objectively identify, develop, and supplement their abilities."
Gen.G Global Academy, which has produced numerous esports talents since its establishment in July 2019, is making various efforts to grow the esports industry and nurture talent based on its symbiotic relationship with Gen.G Esports, which recently recorded the myth of achieving four-peat for the first time in the LCK.
Based on the rich experience and expertise of Gen.G Global Academy, it is collaborating with Yonsei University, University of Kentucky, University of Illinois, Ball State University, and Osan University, Honam University, International University, and Shingu University's esports departments to conduct various global programs throughout Korea, China, and North America. In addition, 'Gsepa' Kang Ji-moon, former analyst of T1, KT, and DRX and esports researcher at Seoul National University and Korea University, has recently been recruited as the chief researcher of the Generation Gaming Lab.
Gen.G Global Academy also plans to expand the academy building to meet the increasing demand for esports education.
