The Hanwha Life Esports hotel package was popular with foreigners

Hanwha Hotels & Resorts (CEO Kim Hyung-jo) The Plaza is launching its second 'WHY NOT?! Super Dive with HLE' package for fans of the popular game 'League of Legends (LoL)'.

The room package that The Plaza introduced with Hanwha Life Esports (HLE) in February drew attention as the first case of collaboration with e-sports in the hotel industry. 64% of package users are foreigners, and nine out of ten are women.

An official from Hanwha Hotels & Resorts explained, “Foreigners have difficulty purchasing tickets on Korean sites even if they want to watch the game in person. This package is very satisfying because you can book game viewing and accommodation at once.” Ahead of the Summer Split regular season this year, The Plaza has once again prepared a room package with HLE.

The package includes ▲Deluxe Room ▲2 tickets to the 2024 LoL Champions Korea Summer Split match ▲The Plaza x HLE limited edition goods (5 types of photo cards, Life Four Cuts, dust bag). The goods are special because they are not available on the market. Life Four Cuts vividly captures the important game moments of the players against the purple background, which is the symbol of The Plaza. The photo cards were produced using unreleased pictorial photos of the players.

An event will also be held for package users, where uniforms with the signatures of 5 HLE members will be randomly placed in the rooms. The reservation period is from May 27th to August 14th, and the price starts from 350,000 won. Web members receive a 10% discount. Details can be found on The Plaza website.

An official from The Plaza said, “The e-sports room package is receiving a hot response, accounting for 82% of the package sales in the first half of the year.” He added, “The Plaza is located a 15-minute walk from LoL Park (Gran Seoul, Jongno-gu), where LCK is held, making it a great place to enjoy the game.”

Hanwha Life Esports operates the LoL professional game team HLE and is solidifying its position in the e-sports market, including advancing to the World Championship in 2021. The company has announced the re-signing of 'Viper' Park Do-hyeon and 'Zeka' Kim Geon-woo, who have won the LOL World Championship this year, drawing attention. HLE ranked 3rd (15 wins and 3 losses) in the 2024 LCK Spring Season, securing a stable position in the top ranks.
