The only SSR Ranger in Solo Leveling! Dark-type Breaker 'Lim Tae-gyu'
Lim Tae-gyu, the master of the Grim Reaper Guild, is currently the only SSR-grade Ranger in the game, and is a dark-attribute attack-based dealer. Uniquely, unlike other dealer position hunters, he has a break effect in his skills, making him useful not only as a simple dealer but also as a dark-attribute break-specific hunter.
With a long-range ranged attack using a bow as a base, he has quick mobility, allowing for strategic operation. However, due to the skill characteristics that focus on ultimate and core attack utilization, his efficiency is significantly reduced in auto-battle. He is not considered a versatile hunter who excels in all aspects, but he can be considered for adoption in dark-attribute weakness content such as Igris in instance dungeons.

Looking at Lim Tae-gyu's unique characteristics, using the QTE skill 'Aerial Barrage' grants a magic heat buff, which causes magic arrows to be fired when using skills and normal attacks, dealing additional damage. In addition, in the magic heat state, the core attack, as well as the normal skill 'Typhoon Shot' and the ultimate 'Rapid: Typhoon Shot' are enhanced, receiving increased damage effects.
In other words, Lim Tae-gyu's attack efficiency greatly increases in the magic heat state due to the additional damage from magic arrows and skill enhancement. Therefore, it is best to appear with a QTE skill, maintain the magic heat buff, unleash attacks, tag out, and repeat the appearance with QTE.

One of the skills enhanced by the magic heat buff, 'Typhoon Shot', is a normal skill that moves backward and gathers strength to unleash a powerful strike. It is characterized by arrows penetrating enemies to inflict area damage, and its advantage is that it has a strong break effect. However, caution is required to avoid being hit during the casting because the motion of gathering strength before firing the arrow is long.
Another magic heat enhancement skill, the core skill 'Simultaneous Fire', has a weak break effect and is Lim Tae-gyu's main attack used in conjunction with the normal skill 'Mobile Fire'. In the case of 'Mobile Fire', it does not receive the damage increase effect of magic heat and its attack power is low, but it is good to use in conjunction with 'Mobile Fire' - 'Simultaneous Fire' because of the core attack activation option when used.
In addition, 'Mobile Fire', which can be charged up to 2 times, can also be used as an evasion and movement skill because it dashes quickly and fires arrows! When dashing with this skill, if there are enemies near the arrival point, the arrows will automatically fly towards the enemies, but the aiming performance is not very good, which is a shame.
The core attack that can be linked afterwards is a wide-area attack that fires fan-shaped arrows forward, unlike the jumping motion of the existing core attack, and the attack power is similar to that of 'Mobile Fire' and is not high. However, by continuously using the 'Mobile Fire' and 'Simultaneous Fire' combo, damage can be accumulated in a short time, and the break gauge can be reduced quickly.

The ultimate 'Rapid: Typhoon Shot' is not a single attack skill, but changes the attack form to use 'Rapid: Typhoon Shot' arrows instead of normal attacks for a certain period of time. When activated, Lim Tae-gyu enters sniper mode for 10 seconds, changing normal attacks to 'Rapid: Typhoon Shot', and can fire up to 8 dedicated arrows during the duration.
The power of one arrow is low for an ultimate, but if all 8 arrows are combined, a high damage output of more than twice that of other hunter ultimates can be expected. If a magic heat buff is added here, an even more powerful strike is possible. After entering sniper mode with the ultimate, it is characterized by the ability to freely move and use normal skills together without having to consume all of the 'Rapid: Typhoon Shot' arrows.
However, in order to maximize efficiency by using all 8 ultimate arrows during the sniper mode duration, it is necessary to fire them in rapid succession. In addition, each time an arrow is used, a slight firing motion is shown, which takes some time to consume all 8 arrows.
In addition, if you switch to another hunter in sniper mode, the remaining ultimate arrows disappear, so Lim Tae-gyu's usability is greatly reduced in auto-battle where tags are made frequently. Considering that most hunters can inflict one-shot damage with their ultimates and then immediately link to other attacks, Lim Tae-gyu has some restrictions on combat utilization.

Lim Tae-gyu's core operation is the core attack combo that follows the 'Mobile Fire' skill, in addition to replacing normal attacks with the ultimate. Therefore, the 1st and 5th evolutions, which increase the efficiency of 'Mobile Fire' and core attacks, are good.
The 1st evolution increases the skill speed and damage of 'Mobile Fire', and increases the number of uses from a maximum of 2 to 3 times. Above all, the fact that the maximum number of uses has been increased by 1 means that the core attack can be linked and used one more time, so the attack efficiency is increased so that damage can be accumulated quickly in a short time.
And the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th evolutions improve Lim Tae-gyu's basic abilities and magic heat performance, resulting in an overall performance improvement, and in the 5th evolution, an attack power increase buff is added to the main skill, the core attack.
This buff stacks by 4% up to a maximum of 7 stacks when the core attack hits, and the duration is applied indefinitely, so you can enjoy the effect until the end of the strategy dungeon. It is a good ability that goes well with the 1st evolution effect, which allows you to use the core attack more often by adding the number of 'Mobile Fire' uses, and Lim Tae-gyu's attack performance can be greatly improved because the attack power increases by as much as 28% when the buff is fully stacked.

Lim Tae-gyu's exclusive weapon 'Interception Ready', which can secure attack power and dark attribute damage increase, has a special effect that grants a 30-second 6% attack power increase buff when using normal attacks for 10 seconds after the ultimate 'Rapid: Typhoon Shot'. Since it stacks up to a maximum of 8 stacks, it is necessary to quickly hit normal attacks after the ultimate ends to secure the buff, and the attack power is improved up to a maximum of 48%, showing powerful performance.
Through the unique characteristic of magic heat, there is an increase in damage, and there is also an attack power increase buff when using core attacks in the 5th evolution effect. It has a number of attack-type self-buffs, including the attack power enhancement of the exclusive weapon.
However, it takes a long time to receive weapon buffs for both the ultimate and normal attacks, so it is not suitable for Lim Tae-gyu's operation method of briefly appearing, focusing attacks, and then tagging out. In order to properly use the buff, it is necessary to use Lim Tae-gyu as the main hunter and deploy him for a long time, but Lim Tae-gyu is not currently considered a versatile hunter enough to be used as the main hunter.
Therefore, the priority of the exclusive weapon is not high, and instead, you can use the attack power-based SR weapons 'Steel Bow', 'Steel Longsword', and 'Steel Dagger' without any problems. Among them, it is especially good to use 'Steel Bow', which increases critical damage, or 'Steel Longsword', which increases weak attribute damage.

Lim Tae-gyu can use various armors depending on the usage. If you are an attack power-based dealer, you can receive attack power increase and defense ignore effects through 'Black Lion', which can be worn by anyone without any problems, to improve overall attack performance, or you can use 'New Hunter' to maximize break performance because he is the only dark attribute break hunter.
In addition, 'Dragon Knight', which enhances the main attack skill core attack, and 'Great Sorcerer', which enhances the ultimate, are also available! Lim Tae-gyu can accumulate damage by repeating the core attack that is activated after Mobile Fire, so good performance is expected for the core attack damage increase effect of the 'Dragon Knight' 4-piece set.
In addition, in order to inflict the maximum amount of damage in a short time with the ultimate 'Rapid: Typhoon Shot', it is also possible to increase the efficiency of the ultimate by receiving the ultimate damage increase and cooldown reduction effects with 'Great Sorcerer'! Among these various armors, you can choose the armor by considering Lim Tae-gyu's usage dungeon and your own play style.

For accessories, 'Behemoth', which increases damage to enemies with a certain amount of health or less, is often used. 'Behemoth' is popular for its good performance that is easy for most hunters to use, and is recommended for a number of hunters to improve combat efficiency.
In addition, 'Beast' and 'Red Eye', which can stack attack increase buffs upon critical hits, can also be used, but among them, 'Red Eye', which can stack quickly, is more suitable for hunters than 'Beast', which has a high maximum value but takes a long time to stack. If you want to use Lim Tae-gyu as your main dealer, you can also consider adopting 'Red Eye'.
In addition, there are cases where the 'Skull' set, which increases damage when your health is below a certain level, is used. It is a condition that is the opposite of 'Behemoth', which activates when the enemy's health is low, but the increasing damage value is higher than that of 'Behemoth', so users who want to put more power into the attack use it. However, health management is difficult, so it is not very popular.

In addition to the supporter of all people, 'Min Byung-gu', 'Lee Bora' can be selected for the party that can be formed together for the dark attribute party. 'Lee Bora' can not only deal decent dark attribute attacks, but also inflict a debuff that increases damage taken by using a talisman on the enemy, and is used as a debuffer by utilizing this.
In addition, 'Lee Bora' also uses an enhancement formation that increases dark attribute elemental damage within a certain range, so it is good to use with dark attribute hunters. This buff is only applied within the range of the enhancement formation, but Lim Tae-gyu can use ranged attacks using a bow, so it is easy to maintain combat without leaving the formation. In addition, if 'Lee Bora' is 3 evolutions or higher, the range of the enhancement formation is expanded, making it more useful.
If you use 'Lee Bora' as Lim Tae-gyu's supporter position, it is also good to wear 'Sacred' for armor and 'Aquamarine' for accessories to give the team an attack power increase effect. This is the same when using 'Min Byung-gu' instead of 'Lee Bora'.
On the other hand, if Lim Tae-gyu is only used for dark attribute break purposes rather than as the main dealer, 'Lee Bora' can also be used as a sub-dealer, and it is also possible to consider using 'Silver Mane Baek Yun-ho', a dark attribute dealer, as the main dealer.
