What are your thoughts on the Aran/Eunwol Remasters during the remaining test server period?
The Aran and Eunwol remasters, revealed at the MapleStory Summer Showcase on Saturday, June 8th, have been updated on the test server. This remaster also includes changes in many areas, such as the overall skill structure and skill effects. Most users are expressing disappointment from the aspects of the existing character concept and story to the changed structure.

In this remaster, the unique concepts of both Aran and Eunwol have been partially changed. First, in the case of Aran, the Four Symbols concept was added to Beyonder, so that the Black Tortoise, Vermilion Bird, Azure Dragon, and White Tiger appear when attacking. In addition, 'Maha', the polearm used by Aran in his hero days, has been changed to the spirit of the polearm, and some fundamental skills such as 'Install Maha' and 'Maha's Domain' have disappeared.
Next, since Eunwol's existing concept is already Eastern-style, there are no suddenly added concepts in this remaster. However, with some skills being changed in the remaster, many users seem to be expressing disappointment that the connection with 'Rang', which was a major part of the existing Eunwol story, has faded. Since the part about the story to be reorganized with the remaster has not been revealed, this is the majority of the reaction.
Overall, both Aran and Eunwol, the main characters of this remaster, have undergone changes such as significant changes to the unique concepts of the job from the connection with the existing story. It seems that they are not easily accepting the new concepts added in the remaster. It is true that the Four Symbols concept suddenly added in the remaster and the disappeared Rang are not changes that can be easily accepted. It remains to be seen whether these concept changes can be justified with the story that will be reorganized with the remaster, so there are many voices of concern.

When a remaster is in progress, it is common to improve the existing outdated skill structure. Both jobs have undergone significant changes in their damage structure through this remaster. First, Aran has added Hyper Awakening (Adrenaline Maximum) to Adrenaline, which is the core of the structure, and 'Hyper Boost End - Last Stand' that can be used in the Hyper Awakening state has been added. In addition, the 6th job origin skill Adrenaline Surge has been changed to 'End Game', which inflicts great damage immediately after use.
Although the change has changed the cycle, the big picture has not been broken. However, since there is no function to select the Hyper Awakening state when desired depending on the situation, it is evaluated that it has returned to the days when there was no switch in the past.
In fact, if Hyper Awakening is activated in a semi-burst cycle that does not require Hyper Awakening, the next cycle will be forced to be unable to use Hyper Awakening. Therefore, it seems that many people agree that a device is needed to use the Hyper Awakening state actively, such as 'Adrenaline Generator'. In addition, there are still many evaluations that structural defects remain, such as the cooldown and duration of Blizzard Tempest (90 seconds cooldown/30 seconds duration), and the stats of the deleted Install Maha.

Next, Eunwol has undergone major changes in both the damage cycle and utility after the remaster. First of all, it seems that there are the most complaints about the utility aspect. 'Spirit Bond Barrier', which accounted for a large portion of Eunwol's excellent utility, has been changed from an active skill with a 60-second cooldown to an on/off skill with a 100-second cooldown. Coupled with the 'Spirit Bond Maximize' and 'Spirit Focus' that were deleted after the remaster, a huge nerf has been made in terms of utility. Although the hit judgment has been removed, many people think that there are more disadvantages than advantages.
In addition, 'Spirit Swarm', which was in charge of Eunwol's burst, has been changed to an install skill after the remaster. Most of the damage ratio that 'Spirit Swarm' occupied has been transferred to various skills. Therefore, the importance of semi-burst (60 seconds) has become more important. As the proportion of semi-burst increases, the practicality decreases, so many users are expressing disappointment at the lack of a skill with firepower that can be called a burst. Most of the opinions are leaning towards adjusting the cooldown (120 seconds) and damage buff of 'Foxfire Punch' to compensate for this burst.
In addition, it seems that they do not welcome the structure after the remaster overall, such as the debuff effect of Ghost Gate and the short duration of Spirit Claw, and the disappointing performance of Hojugae, which is a substitute skill for 'Spirit Bond Maximize', which could be maintained almost infinitely.
