The expected value itself is the same, but the cost to reset additional potential has been adjusted.
The 2024 summer update has been applied to the MapleStory live server on Thursday, June 20th. Various events have begun, including the Aran/Eunwol remaster, Burning Event, and the new event 'A Page from Memory,' along with various improvements such as the Maple Scheduler.
Among the improvements, the Additional Potential reset system, which caused controversy after the previous test server update, has had its price adjusted for some tiers, along with changes to the tier-up probability and the number of resets to guarantee a tier-up. There are no changes to the reset cost at Unique and Legendary tiers. For Rare and Epic tiers, the Additional Potential reset cost has been adjusted to -50%.
As the mesos required for resetting have decreased, the tier-up probability for 'Rare → Epic' and 'Epic → Unique' sections, and the number of resets (cap) to guarantee a tier-up have also been partially changed. Simply put, the tier-up probability compared to the existing Additional/White Additional Cubes has been halved, and the cap has doubled.
Along with these changes, the number of coins that can be obtained from 'Deep Dive' in the 'Forgotten Festival Tome' event has been increased from 1,000 to 1,500, and the 'White Additional Cube,' which was in the existing basic exploration reward, has been replaced with an item that can be purchased with coins from the Festival Record Shop. The 'White Additional Cube' can be purchased up to 3 times per week.
