Children of the Rune, from game to webtoon
The popular fantasy novel 'Children of the Rune,' which has sold over 3 million copies worldwide and is also the original work of Nexon's MMORPG 'TalesWeaver,' will now be produced as a webtoon.
KakaoPage, a webtoon platform operated by Kakao Entertainment, has released a preview image of 'Children of the Rune,' which is scheduled to be released as a new webtoon in July. The webtoon will be based on the first part of the Children of the Rune novel series, 'Winterer,' and will tell the story of Boris Jinneman, a boy who is swept up in a family feud and wanders the continent. The webtoon is a collaboration between artists Mokin, Danhobak Munchkin, and Kyona, and it is known that the original author, Jeon Min-hee, also participated in the supervision.
The previously released preview image includes the message 'The boy's journey to survive and protect begins,' along with illustrations of Boris Jinneman, the main character of the first part, Yefnen Jinneman and Vlado Jinneman of the Jinneman family, and the sword of winter, 'Winterer,' which can be said to be a key element of the story.
KakaoPage is running an original work appreciation event that gives away cash draw tickets so that readers can experience the original novel before watching the Children of the Rune webtoon. The original novel series, which continues with Winterer, Demonic, and Bloodyed, can also be enjoyed on KakaoPage. The webtoon 'Children of the Rune' will be released for the first time on KakaoPage at 10 PM on the 30th.
'Children of the Rune' is a fantasy novel series by author Jeon Min-hee that depicts the story of children struggling to pioneer their own destiny. The series began with 'Winterer' in 2001, followed by Part 2 'Demonic' and Part 3 'Bloodyed,' and has gained popularity in several countries including Japan, Thailand, and Taiwan, selling over 3 million copies based on the book.
Meanwhile, in the game 'TalesWeaver,' which is based on the world of the novel Children of the Rune, a collaboration event with the popular animation 'Delicious in Dungeon' IP is currently underway. The 'TalesWeaver X Delicious in Dungeon' event, where you can meet the main characters from the Delicious in Dungeon animation, will run until July 25.
