The canyon echoed with 'Canyon' Kim Geon-bu's Requiem. Gen.G defeated DRX without much trouble in the first round of the '2024 LoL Champions Korea (LCK)' Summer Split held at Jonggak LoL Park on the 28th, continuing their winning streak.

In the first Rift Herald fight, Gen.G's 'Kiin' on Kennen and 'Canyon' on Nidalee scored one-sided kills against '라스칼' on Malphite and '스펀지' on Taliyah, and shortly after, they caught Malphite again through a top gank. Gen.G, who started to widen the gap from the beginning, had 'Canyon's Nidalee roaming the Rift and scoring points.

DRX boldly initiated with Malphite during a mid lane standoff, but it didn't go in properly, and Gen.G won, widening the gold difference to over 7,000 before 20 minutes. Then, they cut off the opponent at bot, destroyed the bot inhibitor, and then the Nexus, with Gen.G winning in 20 minutes and 49 seconds.

In the following second set, 'Canyon's Karthus, who took Karthus, hunted the red in the counter jungle and moved to the Golems. DRX watched this with wards and aimed for Karthus, but unfortunately failed to catch him, and instead 'Teddy's Ezreal died.

Then, in a teamfight near the Rift Herald, Gen.G unilaterally hunted down the DRX champions, and the game quickly began to tilt. Gen.G showed a meaningful gold difference in just 10 minutes. DRX caught '페이즈' on Zeri, who came in deep believing in Karthus' Requiem, but they still had a long way to go.

Despite still being at a disadvantage, DRX continued to play their best, cutting off Nautilus in succession. On the positive side, the gold difference didn't widen further, and exchanges continued to occur in battles. However, Gen.G stacked 3 dragons at the 3rd dragon timing, cut off '스펀지' on Zyra, and succeeded in hunting Baron. DRX gave up the bot inhibitor and briefly stopped the opponent's attack.

Gen.G, who easily obtained the Dragon Soul, securely took Baron and advanced, destroying DRX's Nexus at 31 minutes of game time to finish the game.
