Hanwha Life won both sets 1 and 2 with an overwhelming difference in the match against T1 in the second round of the '2024 LoL Champions Korea (LCK)' Summer Split held at Jonggak LoL Park on the 20th, achieving their 5th consecutive win and bringing their record to 8 wins and 2 losses. The following is the full interview with Hanwha Life's head coach Choi In-kyu and 'Delight' Yoo Hwan-joong.
Q. What are your thoughts on defeating T1 again in the second round?
Head Coach Choi In-kyu: We won the first round with difficulty, so I was worried and prepared hard, but I'm happy that we won 2:0.
'Delight': There were many mistakes in the last win, but I'm glad we won cleanly today.
Q. How did you prepare for the match?
Head Coach Choi In-kyu: I was still contemplating the ban-pick even after arriving at the stadium. Still, the ban-pick came out within the expected range, so it was structured well.
Q. You showed the Vi-Taliyah combination?
Head Coach Choi In-kyu: I expected the early game to be difficult, and I knew how to play the game, so I watched comfortably.
Q. 'Doran's performance was amazing.
Head Coach Choi In-kyu: Compared to the last game, it was easier for 'Doran' to play today. While picking Vi-Taliyah, we made it a little easier for the top laner, and we played the game comfortably with the resources that the top laner earned.
Q. In the past, it felt like you were overwhelming opponents with individual skills, but now you seem to have grown a lot as a team. What is your current satisfaction level with this?
Head Coach Choi In-kyu: I feel that the players are communicating well. I think we've become a team that can reverse the game well in the early design and mid-game management, and can play the game in various ways.
Q. Your next opponent is Kwangdong Freecs.
Head Coach Choi In-kyu: The second set against Kwangdong last time was not easy. I will prepare to eliminate as many variables as possible.
'Delight': We will focus on blocking their plays centered around 'Cuzz'.
