A two-hour wait is standard at the Gamescom 'Crimson Desert' booth

Pearl Abyss set up a dedicated B2C booth for its new title 'Crimson Desert' at Gamescom 2024, the world's largest game show held in Cologne, Germany from August 21st to 25th, and unveiled the game's general demo build for the first time. As soon as you entered Hall 6 of the Koelnmesse exhibition center where Gamescom was held, Pearl Abyss's large booth, which was specially designed to introduce only one new title, 'Crimson Desert', was visible.
The Crimson Desert booth resembled a solid 'citadel'. It was operated as an adults-only booth where only visitors aged 18 or older could enter, so you had to go inside the booth to appreciate the game's visuals, and the Crimson Desert booth was surrounded by a long line of global gamers who came to experience the demo build firsthand.
Since a long waiting line was formed from the entrance of Hall 6 to around the booth, it naturally attracted the attention and curiosity of passersby. Pearl Abyss had previously announced a plan to 'provide an immersive experience as if entering the game world from entering the booth to the demo'.

Visitors who broke through the long queue and entered the booth were first guided to a separate space where they could watch the trailer. Here, a trailer was shown that introduced the game, basic controls, and key strategy tips for the 4 bosses that would be encountered in the demo build. After watching the video through the monitors surrounding the inside of the space and acquiring basic information, they move to the inner space where they can play the Crimson Desert demo build.
Inside the booth, about 50 demo devices were prepared, and monitors from Samsung Display, MSI, AORUS, and Alienware, which participated as sponsors in Pearl Abyss's Gamescom exhibition, were set up at each demo station.
This Crimson Desert Gamescom demo version was especially focused on action, and visitors who participated in the demo were given a total of 30 minutes of demo time. A total of 4 bosses appear in the demo, each with a unique appearance design, attack range, speed, and pattern. During the 30-minute demo time, visitors could choose a boss that suits their taste and try their own various strategies.
All users who finished the demo were given a Crimson Desert bag and fan as souvenirs, and users who left feedback related to the demo with a QR code could also participate in an event to win top-of-the-line graphics cards such as the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT through a lottery. The first general demo build of Crimson Desert, which was unveiled for the first time through Gamescom, is expected to be introduced at the upcoming G-Star and receive evaluations from domestic gamers.
Meanwhile, Crimson Desert is an open-world action-adventure game about the story of mercenaries fighting for survival in the vast continent of Pywell, and is characterized by the implementation of realistic graphics by developing it with Pearl Abyss's next-generation game engine, 'BlackSpace Engine'. Crimson Desert will be released simultaneously worldwide on console and PC platforms.
