Escaping Runner

Escaping is like an assassin in this competition. Basically, there's a wall of despair at the final 500m straight, so in terms of base stats, they can't beat the chase or leading strategies. But when everyone thinks they're weak, there were many cases where someone sent out a lone Great Escape + Escape pick and won without resistance.

Of course, winning for free doesn't happen just because there are no competitors; the development stats must support it. In other words, the prerequisite for an Escape pick is to check if you have top-tier Escape factor pool and development support cards, and then pray that no other Escape runners appear in the finals.

Nobody uses Escape ▶ Seiun Sky Escape ▶ Escape pick & Great Escape to counter Seiun ▶ Escape runners increase, then Escape runners are wiped out again ▶ Repeat of nobody uses Escape, but in the case of the Korean server, the rear strategy crowding is expected to be prominent, so Escape picks may work surprisingly well.

A common combination was 1 Great Escape + 2 Escape runners. For Great Escape, it's Suzuka or Helios, and for Escape, choose appropriately from the characters on the tier list. It's best if Seiun triggers her main Angling, but if not, Suzuka, who scraped up Runner's High well, was good. If you don't like extreme choices, taking Daiichi Ruby as insurance and a debuffer is okay.

Leading Runner

It was a fun competition with quite a variety of picks, and until the preliminaries, the perception was that chase was absolutely strong in room matches, but in the finals, the win rate of front strategies, including leading, was surprisingly better.

The reason for this is that the chase strategy was heavily crowded, and the Taishin mechanism itself didn't show such stable running. Especially due to the bad track conditions, the position battle from the back was very difficult if the timing was off. The unpredictable strategy ratio also frequently caused skill failures, so unlike the first round of the preliminaries, where they were pushed through with stat differences, they didn't perform well from the second round.

Leading benefited the most from this Taishin bias, and Daitaku Helios was the pick that stood out. It can also be used as an Escape runner, but in this competition, it was preferred as a Leading runner, and its mid-game was very solid, so it often took the role of a pacemaker and crossed the finish line in first place.

The second tier was Sakura Chiyono O, who has a high-level Spring Uma Musume passive, and Camping Taiki Shuttle, who has a current speed-up unique skill. Sakura Chiyono O has the opposite concept to Helios, with strengths in the final stage. Camping Taiki also has strengths in the final stage through her unique skill, but the downside is that development is very difficult due to the 30% power growth.

In addition, Seeking the Pearl is also a strong runner, with a good balance of skills and the power of her unique skill.

Most Leading picks could compete if they learned the main inheritance skills and acceleration skills, so there were really diverse picks, and favorite picks also worked quite well in the competition. However, there were almost no users who adopted a Leading-oriented entry such as 2 Leading or 3 Leading, and if the stats were similar, Helios, who could quickly raise the ranking from the mid-game, had an advantage in terms of compatibility.

Positioning Runner

In fact, most of them were remodeled into chase runners except for Daiichi Ruby. Picks other than Ruby include Oguri Cap, Cheer King, Bamboo Memory, Seeking the Pearl, etc., but it was stronger to turn them into chase runners if possible.

And Ruby herself is not as strong as you might think. Instead, the fact that she can serve as a sub-ace, which is Ruby's unique position, and debuff the opposing team, matched well with this course, so her adoption rate was high. No matter what combination you use, if there's one ambiguous spot left in the entry, putting Ruby in will usually work well.

Chase Runner

Narita Taishin exists as the top tier, and Narita Taishin, who set up mid-game-oriented skills close to Leading, was popular. With the power of Looming Shadow as the leader, combined with the fact that she can connect with her unique skill, she was evaluated as a guaranteed win if she quickly raised her ranking by the mid-game.

The disadvantage is that if there are too many front runners, the main mid-game skills or Nishino's unique skill may fail, and the plan may be invalidated. There are cases where 2 debuffs + Taishin are used to match the inheritance skill ranking, but from experience, the 1-ace strategy is too risky, and debuffs are less effective as you go to higher rounds. Taishin is strong, but it is recommended to raise a sub-ace as insurance.

If it is a traditional formation with one ace for each strategy, you can develop Taishin by adopting various acceleration skills and final stage speed skills such as Lightning Speed + Mejiro Ryan + Cheer King. However, keep in mind that even the final stage Taishin's performance fluctuates depending on the strategy ratio or race pace.

While creating an ace for each strategy, you must complete the team so that the aces can synergize with each other, such as using a final stage ace for Leading and a mid-game ace for Chase, so that they do not invade each other's areas.

Other strong runners besides Taishin include Mr. CB and Gimlet, Chase The Pearl, Chase Oguri, etc. CB has Looming Shadow like Taishin and is a strong mid-game type. Gimlet, on the other hand, is an all-in type for the final straight. The more crowded the chase strategy is, the more advantageous the structure is, and the win rate was surprisingly high.
