Um... After reading the post below saying to never play Balance Druid... I've been thinking about whether that's really the case, and here's my conclusion.
I'm uploading screenshots of my damage logs from 10-11 keys, so judge the damage for yourselves.
(But ultimately, damage meters can vary greatly depending on the capabilities of your party members.)
Recently, after I geared up to a certain extent (got the Agent Commander's Seal and fully upgraded my weapon), I haven't really felt that Balance Druid's damage is weak in Mythic+.
In dungeons above +10 where mobs survive for a sufficient amount of time, Balance Druid's AoE damage is still effective, and in the case of the Forest's Wrath build using Celestial Alignment, there's not much to be desired even in single-target situations.
Especially if the boss fight is in the late 2-minute or early 3-minute range, being able to cycle Celestial Alignment + Incarnation twice makes it entirely possible to top the boss damage charts.
Especially in situations where burst cooldown damage is needed, like the first boss in Tirna Scithe or the third boss in Plaguefall, the burst damage of Celestial Alignment + Incarnation + (Agent Commander's Seal) is as powerful as the burst damage of an Arcane Mage.
Also, even in situations where you have to deal damage in a spread-out condition, like the last boss in Freehold or the second boss in The Stonevault (robot + human), you can apply DoTs and keep casting Starfall to do 1.2~1.5x the damage of other DPS.
This season, Balance Druid's cooldown is 2 minutes (because I use the New Moon/Half Moon/Full Moon talent), and Celestial Alignment is a very short semi-cooldown at 45 seconds, so it can be operated very flexibly compared to the past, making the difficulty not too high.
To add a little more, utility skills such as Rebirth, Remove Curse, Stampeding Roar (if the tank isn't a Blood Death Knight), Ursol's Vortex, Typhoon, Incapacitating Roar, and Solar Beam are still Balance Druid's strengths.
Of course, in terms of survivability, you have to use at least 2 GCDs for Bear Form + Frenzied Regeneration, so if you overuse Bear Form + Frenzied Regeneration, you can lose a lot of damage.
However, the fact that Bear Form has no cooldown can actually be an advantage in certain situations.
For example, when taking the boss's breath pattern in the first boss of Plaguefall at +11 or higher, if you can get one-shot, other DPS may have a burden of using survivability skills in a row. But even if the breath comes 20 times in a row, Balance Druid can handle it all with Bear Form as long as the healer fills up the health. Similarly, you can survive all one-shot patterns, such as the ground-slamming pattern of the last boss of Sanguine Depths, with Bear Form, etc.
Roughly speaking, the advantages are as above,
Of course, it is true that you may be pushed back in terms of damage by some DPS such as Frost Death Knight or Enhancement Shaman when going to the extreme high end, but depending on the composition, the strengths of Balance Druid can be fully utilized.
Anyway, my conclusion is that Balance Druid is still a good pick in Mythic+. Therefore...
I don't think you need to hesitate to raise a Balance Druid.
