How to buy items on the online marketplace - POE2
Here's how to use the online marketplace when you have currency but can't get the items you need.
※ The POE2 marketplace is not fully optimized yet, so it's a bit difficult to handle perfectly. However, with a little time, you can buy the items you need at a low price.
1. Open the Marketplace
- Click 'Trade' on the official website.
2. Set Item Filters
- Set the server to POE2-STANDARD and select the type or options of the item you want.
- The options are not fully organized yet, so it's a bit ambiguous, but you can set them appropriately while looking at them.
- The fastest way to find the item you want is to set the desired affixes (core options) and set the minimum level to match your character level.
- You don't have to worry about the 'Other' tab. There are some unnecessary elements left over from the process of bringing POE1 as is.
3. Browse Searched Items
- Look at the listings, considering how well the desired affixes you need are attached among the searched items.
- % damage of the attribute you mainly push, main stats, etc. are common desired affixes. (Desired affixes vary depending on the build)
4. Whisper the Seller
- With the game running, press the 'Whisper' button on the page to automatically send a whisper in the game.
- 'Online' means that the seller is currently connected to the game.
- If you click Whisper, a trade request whisper will be automatically sent in the language of the user. It roughly means "I want to buy the ~~~ you put in the nth tab of which stash."
5. Meeting Up
- Generally, POE trades take place in the hideout. When you receive a party invitation from the seller, accept the invitation and enter by right-clicking on the portrait -> Visit Hideout.
- However, hideouts are opened in the end-game stage, so they are often not unlocked yet. In this case, you can meet and trade in a specific town depending on your progress. (If you can't enter due to a server problem, you can proceed by choosing another town)
- When a trade is possible, the opponent's portrait in the party window is colored. If not, it is displayed in black and white.
6. Bargaining
- This is a stage that requires social skills.
- The current trading base currency is 'Exalted Orb', but unless it's a really good item, almost all trades are in decimal units.
- There is no set standard for decimal units of Exalted Orbs. You can ask the seller what they want or pay with other currencies instead.
- You can also use the currency exchange rate. I'll cover this as a separate tip.
7. End
- If you have received the item, use it.
