Flagship-level CPU Cooler, Dual Tower Cooler Recommendation PentaWave Z06D!!
When assembling a PC, many people 고민 (agonize) between air-cooled vs. liquid-cooled CPU coolers. If you prefer air-cooled CPU coolers, it's not a big problem if you're using a CPU with low power consumption, but if you're using a high-end CPU, your options are greatly narrowed.
The PentaWave Z06D, an air-cooled CPU cooler with built-in performance that blows away the concerns of users who prefer air-cooled CPU coolers, has been released.
The PentaWave Z06D CPU cooler supports a maximum TDP of 270W, proving its powerful cooling performance, and features 6 high-quality heat pipes, 2 high-performance 120mm fan coolers, and PWM speed control to balance performance and noise... It is designed to drive high-performance CPUs with no shortage of anything as an air-cooled CPU cooler.
The cooler is available in two colors, black and white, which are common colors, and the color I installed is the white version.
It is a cost-effective cooler among air-cooled CPU coolers and can be a good alternative for those looking for a high-performance, low-noise CPU cooler. Compatible CPUs include Intel LGA 1851, LGA 1700, LGA 1200, 115X (1150, 1151, 1155), and AMD fully supports AM4/AM5 sockets, making it compatible with most CPUs.
The components taken out of the box include the CPU cooler body, 2 types of Intel backplates (LGA1851, LGA1700 & LGA2066), universal bracket, Intel & AMD standoffs (plastic), AMD anti-removal kit, Intel & AMD screws, thermal grease, and assembly instructions, providing everything you need to install the latest AMD and Intel CPUs.
The PentaWave Z06D CPU cooler features 6 heat pipes with a diameter of 6mm and a large-capacity heat sink design, providing powerful cooling performance that can control CPUs with a TDP of up to 270W. Air-cooled coolers are typically designed with an aluminum heat sink optimized for airflow and a high-quality symmetrical heat pipe structure, and this cooler has the same structure.
Flagship-level cooling performance is basic, and the price is reasonable!!
As a dual-tower CPU cooler, it is heavy and bulky, and its size of 125mm x 113mm x 158mm is larger than a single-tower cooler, providing powerful cooling performance. Based on a mid-tower case, it is a good idea to check in advance whether there is interference with the graphics card and memory and purchase a PC case.
The CPU socket is fastened using two screws (pieces) on the inside.
The dense aluminum heat sink, which is often seen in air-cooled CPU coolers, is designed with an efficient design that maximizes the cooling effect. The heat sink is equipped with 6 6mm heat pipes to quickly transfer heat, making the cooling speed efficient and fast.
The Soft Start PWM 120m cooling fan can be easily separated and combined by the user, and can be mounted using 2 fixing pins on the side. The Soft Start function creates a 6-7 second interval that raises the motor's power output from 25% to 100% when the K12 fan is operating, minimizing noise during initial booting.
The two 120mm cooling fans use high-durability MFDB (Magnetic Fluid Dynamic Bearing) fluid + magnetic bearings to capture both noise and lifespan.
The bearing type boasts high durability with minimized friction and is the optimal type for powerful cooling performance. The detailed specifications of the K12 cooling fan can be summarized as a maximum speed of 1950RPM, maximum noise: 32.6dBA, maximum airflow 86.5CFM, and maximum air pressure 2.21mmH2O.
In addition, silicone anti-vibration pads are applied to the 4 corners of the fan that come into contact with the aluminum heat sink to suppress vibration and maintain a comfortable low-noise environment.
The speed can be adjusted from a minimum of 600RPM to a maximum of 1950RPM through the 4-pin connector on the motherboard, providing efficient cooling performance even in a low-noise environment. It supports automatic fan speed control, which requires less hands-on work, and is a CPU cooler that can be expected to provide efficient cooling performance in a low-noise environment.
This is the nickel-plated heat spreader. It is designed with a structure that allows the heat pipe to directly contact the CPU, minimizing the delay in heat transfer from the base to the heat pipe. The surface of the heat pipe base is processed smoothly and precisely to ensure that it is in close contact with the CPU, maximizing cooling performance.
The installation method and order of the PentaWave Z06D CPU cooler are well described in the installation guide, and the installation process varies depending on the Intel and AMD sockets. Looking at the installation process based on the AMD AM5 socket...
- Remove AMD AM5 socket support
- Erect support with AMD standoffs
- Fix the universal bracket with 4 screws
- Apply thermal compound
- Fix the cooler to the CPU using screws
- Combine 120mm cooling fan
Now let's install it ourselves.
Once the support is removed, erect 4 AMD standoffs. A total of 4 must be erected for stable fixation, and they are distinguished from AMD standoffs, so do not erect them incorrectly.
Place the universal bracket on top of it and fix it with 4 screws.
Finally, apply thermal grease to the CPU, fix the cooler using the installed screws, and attach the 2 cooler fans using clips.
It is a good idea to check for interference with the memory in advance when installing a dual-tower air-cooled CPU cooler. The PentaWave Z06D can be installed in the first slot for products with a memory height of 52mm or less, and can be installed in 4 slots if you use memory with a height of 44mm or less.
Plug the Soft Start PWM connector into the CPU_FAN 4-pin on the motherboard. Don't forget to connect the 2 fans before that.
When installing the 120mm cooling fan, be careful to distinguish the intake-exhaust direction and install it in the correct direction from the front and back. The double-sided 8 anti-vibration rubber pads attached to the fan absorb vibration when the cooling fan is running, greatly reducing vibration and noise, making it an optimized product for a low-noise environment.
This is the appearance of installing it in a mid-tower case, which is the most commonly used case when assembling a PC, and the height of 158mm can be installed in almost all cases.
The 158mm height of the CPU cooler is designed to be compact so that it can be installed in any case without interference. The 120mm fan is an MFDB type with 600 ~ 1950RPM in turbo mode, maximum airflow 86.5CFM, maximum air pressure (static pressure) 2.21mmH2O, and maximum fan noise 32.6dBA, making it a powerful cooling CPU cooler that can stably cool high-performance CPUs from Intel and AMD without any problems.
When installed on an AMD Ryzen 5-6th generation 9600X CPU and CPU benchmarks are performed, it can be confirmed that the single-thread and multi-thread benchmark scores are quite good.
The performance of single-core and multi-core measured with Cinebench R23 was also measured stably.
The CPU temperature checked in the motherboard BIOS with the PentaWave Z06D air cooler installed was measured low at 40 degrees.
▶ PentaWave Z06D CPU temperature: Idle 36.0 degrees / Maximum temperature 69 degrees at 100% load
Looking at the fan speed, it consistently maintains the early 500RPM range at idle, and maintains the maximum 1800RPM range at full load, so in the case of CPUs with relatively low TDP, stable temperature control is possible even if it does not operate at the maximum speed of 1,500RPM.
Because it maintains the temperature in the early to mid-range in a full load situation at this fan speed, it was confirmed through various tests that it is a good Non-K/X CPU cooler. To reach a fan RPM of 1900RPM, you must set it to performance or higher in PWM mode.
The PentaWave Z06D CPU cooler is the best in performance among air-cooled coolers and can perfectly cover up to a maximum TDP of 270W. Based on 270W, it is sufficient to maintain Intel's 285K and AMD's 9700X/9800X3D at a stable temperature, and it is not easy to satisfy both this price range and this performance among dual-tower air-cooled coolers.
It is a CPU cooler that provides efficient cooling performance in a low-noise environment, and the soft start function is applied to reduce noise when booting initially and can further reduce noise during system operation, making it suitable for a low-noise environment.
The warranty period including the fan is generous at 5 years, and an AMD anti-removal kit is also provided for AMD users from products shipped in June 2023. And above all, the white color makes it the most ideal choice when you want to assemble a PC in a white atmosphere.
