Try this if you're experiencing severe frame drops in POE2.

Getting frame drops and lag while playing POE2 is causing frequent deaths and stress.

I've searched a lot and looked for information, but in the NVIDIA control panel settings, under 3D settings management > Global settings > Shader Cache Size

There aren't really any other settings that help with frame drops besides this one.

Especially when mapping, the frame rate drops sharply to below 30fps in the Delirium maps, making it difficult to play.

After applying the current settings, the frame rate has improved a lot in mapping Delirium maps, ranging from 110 to mid-50s. (VGA RTX3070)

The setting I applied is the unlimited shader cache size mentioned above. Please set this first.

Update - When setting the shader cache size to unlimited, I occasionally experienced screen tearing.

Try setting it to 100gb first, and if you experience symptoms, test with 10gb.

In-game graphics settings are DX12 / Full Windowed / Vertical Sync Off.

Check Dynamic Resolution / Upscaling NVIDIA DLSS Performance. It looks better to increase the sharpness a bit. I set it to 80%.

Texture Quality Medium / Texture Filtering Trilinear Filtering < Unlike other games, this option in POE2

has a significant impact on performance.

The following options are set to Shadows / Low / Low / Low / Volume 50% / Low.

NVIDIA Reflex is On or Booster / Foreground FPS Max. This option limits the frame rate.

Please set it to about 20~30% lower than the maximum frame rate. (I changed the setting to 90). Background Frame Limit 60.

Triple Buffering Dynamic Culling is disabled. Set the target frame rate a bit lower than the limited maximum frame rate.

-Additionally, it seems more stable to lower the maximum frame rate sufficiently to limit it, which reduces frame fluctuations.

Update - While mapping a Delirium map today, there was a map that was particularly laggy, so I changed the settings again.

Try turning Dynamic Culling and Dynamic Resolution on and off yourself and use the settings that work best for you. Frame rate limit doesn't have a big

impact on frame rate maintenance. Uncheck the Foreground fps option, and set the target frame rate to around the average frame rate.

If you are using G-Sync or Adaptive-Sync, set the frame rate slightly lower than the monitor's refresh rate, such as 140 for a 144Hz refresh rate.

Use a separate frame rate limit in the nvidia graphics control panel.

Additionally, Control Panel settings and In-game settings!

If the poe2 program is not registered in the 3D settings, click the program settings and press the add button and select it from the list.

Register the poe2 executable file.Change the bordered part to the default as shown in the image below.

In the in-game settings, Dynamic Culling < Check this and try using it, it might be good.

And if you support G-Sync or Adaptive-Sync, it is good to use it.

-Go to the link in Chungha Man's comment below and clean up the nvidia shader cache files.

It would be good if you could do that.

That's the end of the settings. I hope it helps users suffering from frame drops.

If it doesn't improve much, I'll let you know about the additional settings I changed besides this. Please leave a comment.
