Shift Up's 'Goddess of Victory: Nikke' Estimated Sales Exceed $1 Billion

Mobile market research firm Sensor Tower announced on the 4th that 'Goddess of Victory: Nikke' has achieved an estimated cumulative revenue of $1 billion (approximately 1,458.6 billion won) in 2 years and 3 months since its global release on November 4, 2022.

 

 

 

'Goddess of Victory: Nikke' gained immense popularity upon its release, topping download charts in major mobile game markets such as the United States, Japan, and South Korea. As of January 31, 2024, it ranked 29th in global mobile game revenue and secured the top spot in the mobile squad RPG genre, establishing itself as a leading game.

 

Japan accounted for the highest share of cumulative revenue by country at 54%, followed by South Korea (16.2%) and the United States (16%).

 

 

'Goddess of Victory: Nikke' accounted for 5.4% of Tencent's global mobile revenue, ranking as the seventh-highest contributor. Unlike Tencent's other games, which are concentrated in the Chinese market, it is evaluated to have played an important role in expanding and diversifying Tencent's portfolio by achieving success in the global market.

 

According to Sensor Tower Audience Insights, 'Goddess of Victory: Nikke' had a high proportion of male players in Japan, the United States, and South Korea, exceeding 80%. In particular, the 35-44 age group accounted for 23.1% in the Japanese market, the highest among major markets, indicating that it has secured a relatively mature user base.

 

 

'Goddess of Victory: Nikke' continues to grow through seasonal events and localized advertising strategies. On January 1, 2025, the release of the new Nikke 'Rapi: Red Hood' and the rerun event of existing Nikkes achieved a daily revenue of $4.7 million, breaking the highest daily revenue in the last two years.

 

Tencent is actively conducting advertising campaigns in major markets. It has adopted a YouTube-centered advertising strategy in the Japanese market and a strategy that utilizes both YouTube and TikTok in the US market, implementing customized advertisements tailored to the characteristics of each market.
