The 'flavor' of Mabinogi Mobile, brewed with persistence

Amidst concerns and anticipation, 'Mabinogi Mobile,' which opened on March 27th, is demonstrating its potential as it enters a service stabilization phase.
According to Galaxy Gamer data, Mabinogi Mobile has consistently maintained an average of 80,000 concurrent users from its launch date to the present. While this data does not represent the entire user base and is used to observe trends, it has created solid indicators, defying the recent trend of new releases decreasing by 20-30% or more within the first week of service.
Sales rankings are also on the rise. It is showing stable growth, rising to 2nd place on iOS and 6th place on Android from 22nd place within two days of release. It's a shame that it didn't immediately hit #1 in sales on both major markets to show its power, but considering that there are no mandatory billing elements, the main focus of gacha items is cosmetic items, and the PC payment rate is high, the trend is not bad.
Devcat CEO Kim Dong-gun emphasized 'low barrier to entry' as a key feature of Mabinogi Mobile in an interview. He said, "We hope that those Milletians who have experienced Mabinogi will be able to feel Mabinogi and relive their memories anytime, anywhere, regardless of location, and we hope that it will serve as a 'friendly entrance with a low threshold' for those who have never experienced Mabinogi to enter the world of Mabinogi."
With the original Mabinogi still active for 21 years, Devcat needs to create a win-win model where 'Mabinogi Mobile' doesn't live alone. It's never easy. Perhaps that's why Kim Dong-gun's face, who rarely smiled even at the demonstration site where he should have been in the spotlight, comes to mind again.
In the early stages of release, there were voices of disappointment about the different story direction from the original and the overly easy operation method. However, as the fun of content and farming that is revealed in earnest after level 60 has spread by word of mouth, public opinion is also changing positively.
In particular, the 'Beginner Support Program' and 'Magic Compass' system helped new users who had never experienced the original game to adapt quickly, and the contents such as 'Stellargram', 'Classic Change', and 'Deep Dungeon' are evaluated to be providing fresh fun to Milletians as well.
Of course, there are still challenges to be solved. The exchange that is not working properly yet, the insignificant guild system, the field boss who has already become a 'punching bag', and some UI that needs improvement are just some of the problems that need to be solved urgently.
However, for Devcat, which aims for long-term service rather than short-term success, the current trend of Mabinogi Mobile, which is steadily rising even if it is somewhat slow, does not seem bad. For Koreans, 'Jeyuk Bokkeum' is better than 'Tanghulu'. It's a long way to go, but it seems like a good choice.
Meanwhile, Mabinogi Mobile has not yet announced its first update plan. They must be too busy right now. As there are still unreleased contents such as Abyss and Raids, attention is focused on what plans they will come up with for long-term success.
