Content Update 0.2.0 -- Path of Exile 2: The Fall of Oriath

The Fall of Oriath League

  • The Fall of Oriath League provides a fresh start in a new economy. Your characters from the Early Access Standard and Hardcore Leagues will remain as they are at the point of Early Access launch. We still encourage you to participate in the new league to fully experience the changes from the 0.2.0 update.
  • Standard, Hardcore and Solo Self-Found versions of the Fall of Oriath League are available. They have the same core mechanics and items as the existing Early Access leagues.

New Content and Features

  • Added the Huntress as a playable character class.
  • Added the Amazon and Ritualist as Ascendancies for the Huntress.
  • Added the Smith of Kitava as an Ascendancy for the Warrior.
  • Added the Tactician as an Ascendancy for the Mercenary.
  • Added the Lich as an Ascendancy for the Witch.
  • Added over 25 new spear-focused skills.
  • Added over 100 support gems.
  • Added two new item types: Spears and Bucklers.
  • Added over 100 new Unique Items.
  • Added eight new endgame maps with new combat and rewards.
  • Added four new unique vaults, including unique encounters with special chests.
  • Added 12 Rogue Exiles. These are exiles like you, but openly hostile. They each have different skills and personalities, and are much smarter than regular monsters.
  • Added Azmeri Wisps. These are spirits that appear throughout the campaign and endgame. Approaching a wisp causes it to flee, leading you through monsters. Monsters that come into contact with the wisp are empowered with its energy. If you stray too far, the wisp will dissipate and return to the forest.
  • Added 11 new items with sockets that are dropped by monsters hunted by the Azmeri.
  • Added Twilight Reliquary Keys. These keys can be used in the Reliquary, a new area in endgame maps, to open chests that drop a foil version of a supporter-selected Unique Item. The chests can contain any Unique Item that appears in Path of Exile 2, but if the selected item is a final boss drop, it can only be obtained with a special key from that content. There are currently 453 foil Unique Items that can come from the Twilight Reliquary.
  • Essences can now be corrupted with Vaal Orbs, resulting in a variety of unpredictable outcomes. Upgrading higher-tier essences can result in four new corrupted essences.
  • Made small improvements to sound, art, effects, and environments.

Endgame Changes

  • Areas of Corruption will appear in the Atlas. The central Corrupted Nexus is the source of this phenomenon. In areas leading to the Nexus, slain enemies will release Corruption that coalesces into powerful monsters.
  • Reaching the Nexus will begin a mission to purify the source of the Corruption. Completing this mission will award you with a Crystalline Shard, which can be used to gain Atlas Passive Skill Points.
  • A boss has been added to each faction, which can be encountered in the Corrupted Nexus.
  • A faction of Corrupted Monsters has also been added.
  • The visuals and animations of Corrupted Monsters have been improved, and their skill balance has been adjusted.
  • Corrupted areas no longer have a fixed +1 to their area level, but are now much more likely to have modifiers and can have stronger modifiers. Several new Corrupted modifiers have also been added.
  • Additionally, purifying the Nexus will result in the surrounding maps becoming Purified Maps. These maps contain unique monsters and reward you with the newly added Orb of Fissures, among other things.
  • The Orb of Fissures will fissure one random modifier on a Rare item with at least four modifiers, making it permanent.
  • To open a Corrupted Nexus map, the Waystone placed in the Map Device must have at least four modifiers.
  • You can now be resurrected and returned to the map upon death. When you first enter the endgame, you will have a maximum of six attempts per map. Adding modifiers to the Waystone will reduce the number of resurrections.
  • When in a party, all party members can be resurrected the same number of times.
  • "
  • You can enter and exit the map as many times as you like as long as you don't die. The number of portals represents the number of times you can resurrect in the map.
  • "
  • However, we still believe that defeating the boss in one go is important. Therefore, once the boss fight begins, the resurrection system will change to the system used for the final boss.
  • If you challenge the map boss directly without interacting with the rest of the map content, you will be resurrected at the boss checkpoint and only the map boss will remain. The rest of the monsters and content will disappear.
  • The number of Towers in the Atlas has been greatly reduced, but each Tower is now more powerful.
  • The number of mechanics that a Tablet adds to a Tower has been doubled by default. Also, using a higher-tier Waystone in a Tower will increase the number of mechanics that the Tablet applies. At Tier 15, this bonus is doubled, so one Tablet adds four times as many mechanics as before.
  • All additional content mechanics, including bosses, can now appear in Tower maps.
  • The number of maps affected by Tablets has increased by an average of two times, and now also increases based on map tier.
  • Defeating the Rare monsters required to complete a map no longer grants a chance for monster modifiers to be applied to the remaining Rare monsters.
  • The chance for Rare monsters to have three or four modifiers in a map has been increased (meaning they drop more items). This is mainly to compensate for Rare monsters granting modifiers to other Rare monsters upon death.
  • A checkpoint now spawns when the last-available optional content in a Map has been completed.
  • Additional content such as Breaches, Delirium, Expedition, and Ritual will now start spawning further away from the Ziggurat Refuge.
  • How Waystones are obtained in Maps has been redesigned. Our intention is to make both sustaining waystone drops much more reliable and less dependant on random elements.
  • Waystones can no longer drop at a lower tier than the map you are in.
  • The way Waystones are obtained in Maps has been changed. Waystones that can now be obtained from monsters other than the map boss are always the same tier as the current map, and Waystones that can be obtained from the map boss are always a higher tier than the current map (if possible).
  • In Tier 1 maps, the final map boss and final naturally occurring Rare monster in each map will always drop a Waystone. This chance decreases as the map tier increases, but can be increased with Waystone suffix modifiers and investment in the Atlas Passive Tree.
  • Removed the chance to obtain a Waystone one tier higher from the Atlas Passive Tree, and reduced the number of Waystones that can be obtained from the Atlas Passive Tree.
  • Sources of "Map Boss have a chance to drop a Waystone of the current tier or higher" have been replaced by "increased quantity of Waystones dropped by Map Bosses".
  • Doryani can now purchase up to 10 maps that are one tier lower than the highest tier of map you have completed, or Tier 1.
  • Overseer Tablets can now include bosses in a maximum of 2-4 maps within range (previously 3-7).
  • The chance to obtain Waystones granted by Waystone suffix modifiers has been reduced due to the newly added Waystone drop chance.
  • Unidentified Waystones no longer grant 30% increased quantity of Waystones, but now grant a 30% increased chance for Waystones to drop.
  • The first five Unique Maps you complete now grant two Atlas Passive Skill Points each, for a total of 10.
  • Some map specializations have been adjusted to account for the addition of Azmeri Wisps.
  • Added new modifiers related to Azmeri Wisps to Overseer Tablets.
  • Added new modifiers related to Azmeri Wisps and Rogue Exiles to Harbinger Tablets.
  • The Untainted Paradise Unique Map now has "200-400% increased Experience gain" (previously 150-300%).
  • Added a recombination mechanic to Expedition. This mechanic combines two items and takes the best elements from each to create one item. Recombination is unlocked upon completing the first Expedition, and can be activated with artifacts found during Expeditions.
  • The value of Tablet modifiers that provide "5-10% increased chance for Ritual Offerings in Maps to be Omens" has been changed to 15-25%.
  • The value of Overseer Tablet modifiers that provide "+10-20% chance for Map Bosses to drop a Waystone of the current tier or higher" has been changed to +5-8%.
  • Harbinger Tablet suffixes that previously granted a base chance for random additional content now grant an increased chance (affects existing items).
  • The value of Tablet modifiers that increase item rarity found in maps has been changed to 10-15% (previously 10-20%).
  • The value of Tablet modifiers that increase item quantity found in maps has been changed to 3-7% (previously 3-8%).
  • The value of Tablet modifiers that increase monster pack size in maps has been changed to 3-7% (previously 3-8%).
  • The value of Tablet modifiers that increase gold found in maps has been changed to 10-15% (previously 5-10%).
  • The value of Tablet modifiers that increase Breach monster density in maps has been changed to 4-6% (previously 5-10%), and the value of modifiers that cause Breaches to open faster has been changed to 3-5% (previously 8-12%).
  • Tablet modifiers that cause Rare monsters to have one additional modifier no longer appear.
  • Modifiers on Replicated Territories that cause Rare monsters to have one additional modifier no longer appear.
  • Several endgame quests leading to the Ash Arbiter encounter have been consolidated into a single quest.
  • All bosses affected by difficulty and Replicated Territories can now drop all Unique Items regardless of difficulty, but the chance to drop Rare Unique Items is lower at lower difficulties. This also applies to Reliquary Keys for this content.
  • Pinnacle boss content now takes roughly half the amount of time to unlock compared to before. In addition, Pinnacle bosses have been made much easier at Difficulty 0 as well. It's our intention to allow you to face Difficulty 0 of this content much earlier in your endgame progression while still preserving the difficulty of Difficulty 4.
  • Players no longer gain experience when killing monsters in Replicated Territories, Twisted Realms, Oros' Arena in Logbooks, the Nullstone Core, or the Burning Colossus. You also do not lose experience when dying in these areas.
  • The location of the stash in Replicated Territories has been changed, so you are less likely to accidentally start an encounter when trying to open the stash.
  • Reduced the Power of Notables on the league specific Atlas Passive Trees for acquiring Logbooks, Breach Splinters, Simulacrum Splinters and an Audience with the King.
  • Delirium Encounters in Maps now reward 1 Simulacrum Splinter each time a reward type is filled.
  • Simulacrum Splinters can now be obtained through Delirium Encounters in all Map Tiers, with the amount scaling up per Map Tier.
  • The base number of Monsters spawned in Delirium Encounters has been reduced, and the number that emerge by touching Fracturing Mirrors has been greatly increased.
  • Reduced the fog intensity in Delirium Encounters.
  • The number of monsters spawned in Breaches has been reduced.
  • A higher proportion of the total number of Breach monsters now spawn earlier in the encounter.
  • The number of small chests that appear in Breaches has been reduced.
  • Opening Grasping Hands or Delirium Mirrors now counts as completing Breach and Delirium Encounters.
  • The number of monster packs that spawn in vaults in maps has been slightly increased.
  • Omens are now always a Ritual reward in map areas. There is also a small chance for additional Omens.
  • The vendors in the Ziggurat Refuge and Hideout no longer have one level 60 item and one level 70 item, and now have a level 65 item as normal.
  • If you log out of the game while in an endgame map area and log back in with the same character, you will now enter that instance if it still exists.

Atlas Passive Tree Changes

  • Added support for Azmeri Wisps and Rogue Exiles to the Atlas Passive Tree.
  • Added more Keystone Passives and reworked existing Keystone Passives to provide more interesting choices.
  • The Deadly Evolution Atlas Keystone Node has been replaced with a new Keystone Node called Ecological Shift. This Keystone Node provides "40% increased chance for Maps to contain random additional content" and "20% less Monster Pack Size in Maps".
  • You can now obtain 40 Atlas Passive Skill Points (previously 30).
  • The chance for the Crumbling Walls Atlas Notable Passive Skill to spawn 1 additional Breach has been changed to 10% (previously 15%), the chance to spawn 3 additional Breaches has been changed to 3% (previously 5%), and the chance to spawn 10 additional Breaches has been changed to 1% (previously 2%).
  • The "Monsters are created with 20% less Life" effect has been removed from the Extreme Archaeology Notable Atlas Passive Skill.
  • The Fanatical Invasion Atlas Notable Passive Skill now provides "50% increased Breach Splinter quantity dropped by Breach Monsters in Maps" (previously 75%).
  • The Grasping Hands Atlas Notable Passive Skill now provides "30% increased Grasping Hands in Breaches in Maps" (previously 50%) and "20% chance for Grasping Hands in Maps to be defended by 1 Magic Monster Pack" (previously 25%).
  • The Hyperdimensional Assault Atlas Notable Passive Skill now provides "10% increased Monster Density in Breaches in Maps" (previously 15%).
  • The Ominous Premonition Atlas Notable Passive Skill now provides "100% increased chance for Ritual Offerings in Maps to be Omens" (previously 50%).
  • The Surging Embers Atlas Notable Passive Skill now provides "25% increased Monster Density in Breaches in Maps" (previously 40%).

General Improvements

  • When using the DirectX 12 renderer, if the graphics device is lost, the game client will now display a loading screen and pause while creating a new state to prevent it from crashing like before. This only applies to certain client crashes, not all of them.
  • The location of the Reforging Bench in town has been changed to an optimal location. The Stash and Guild Stash have also been moved slightly further apart to reduce misclicks.
  • Vaults can now appear in certain areas in Act 1.
  • Added a stash to the treasure room in the Trial of Chaos.
  • Many fire skills now visually burn the grass in the area.
  • Improved the performance of summoning and resurrecting minions.
  • Further improved the judgment to prevent the use of movement skills to skip the elevator in the Trial of Chaos encounter and prevent the encounter from proceeding normally.
  • Jumping while using Evasive Fire and Virulent Tumour now allows you to jump over enemies and narrow terrain. Vaulting Shot will also be changed in the future.
  • The Decay debuff from the Withering Touch Support Gem now uses a more appropriate visual effect and is displayed below the enemy's life bar.
  • When firing multiple grenades at once with the Grenade skill, there is now a small amount of random variation in the travel distance.
  • Flame Arrow now uses an animation like Freezing Shard instead of a generic projectile spell animation.
  • Changed the 3D art for the Stash and Guild Stash.

Player Changes

  • You must now be at least character level 25 to enter Cruel difficulty areas, and 50 to enter endgame areas.
  • The player's base attack speed while unarmed has been changed to 1.4 attacks per second (previously 1.2). To offset this change, the attack speed reduction values for Deadly Arts, Impact Arts, and Chayula's Touch have been changed to 25% (previously 10%).
  • Freezing now accumulates on enemies approximately 48% slower.
  • The player's base ailment threshold is now half of their maximum life (previously the same as their maximum life).
  • The approach base radius is now 4 meters (previously 6 meters).
  • The effect of monster modifiers stolen from Rare monsters being granted to the player through gems such as the Headhunter Support Gem has been adjusted more appropriately.
  • The Cruel version of the Essence of Candle Wallowing now provides "5% increased Life" (previously 8%).
  • The text of the Old Sandal Trial of Sekhema torment is now "30% less Movement Speed if Hit by an Enemy in the past 4 seconds" (previously "25% reduced Movement Speed").
  • Blocking or evading an attack with a shield now gives you a chance to avoid accumulating a strong stun state equal to the chance to evade the attack.
  • The stun mechanics and terminology applied to players and monsters have been unified. The "stagger" that players experience when blocking too much damage while blocking is now a strong stun. Players still do not experience strong stuns unless otherwise specified in the mechanics.
  • Players no longer experience weak stuns while blocking.
  • Modifiers to curse effect have been changed to instead apply to curse magnitude. This means that they are additive with any other modifiers to the effect of the debuff on the target. For example, curse magnitude and slow magnitude are now additive with each other for Temporal Chains.
  • Objects created by players, such as Ice Crystals, no longer have monster poise values.
  • Ice Crystals no longer apply to on-kill effects such as Herald of Ash and Haemophilia's Overkill.
  • Players now have "50% increased Weak Stun Threshold per Stun in the past 4 seconds" (previously "25% increased Weak Stun Threshold per Stun in the past 6 seconds").
  • The strong stun gauge now starts to drop after the strong stun animation ends (previously when the strong stun animation starts).
  • The duration of strong stuns applied to players has been changed to 3 seconds (previously 1 second).
  • Players cannot block or evade hits while strongly stunned.
  • Impair stacks now have individual durations, rather than all stacks having their duration refreshed when a new stack is added.
  • Fixed targets can no longer evade. Also, fixing a target now applies a weak stun to the target.
  • The base duration of Endurance, Frenzy, and Power Charges has been changed to 15 seconds (previously 20 seconds).
  • Enemies with fully destroyed armor now take 20% increased damage.
  • Resurrectable minions now spawn with their skills on cooldown. This only applies to newly summoned minions, not minions that have just been resurrected.
  • The damage of Slam amplified by Ancestral Strength is now amplified by 30%, and the area of effect is amplified by 20% (previously 20% for both).
  • When you first allocate an Ascendancy Passive Skill that grants a sustained minion, that minion is automatically summoned.
  • Players and monsters are now only considered to be moving while they are moving. Previously, they were considered to be moving for the entire duration of several animations that only had movement in some sections.
  • Setting stats to a specific value (such as Chaos Inoculation setting Life to 1 or Blood Magic setting Mana to 0) now occurs before conversions are applied to that stat. Previously, conversions would ignore stat settings.

Ascendancy Changes


Titan

  • The Amazing Power Ascendancy Notable Passive Skill now provides "50% increased Damage against Strongly Stunned Enemies" (previously 40%).
  • The Earth Shatterer Ascendancy Notable Passive Skill now provides "25% chance for Directly Used Slam Skills to trigger Aftershock" (previously 20%).


Warbringer

  • The Warcaller's Call Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "War Cries Explode Corpses in their range, dealing Physical Damage equal to 25% of their Life" instead of "War Cries cause corpses in range to explode, dealing Physical Damage equal to 25% of the corpse's maximum Life". The radius of the corpse explosion is increased by the War Cry's area of effect.
  • The Turtle Shell Amulet Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "25% less Block Chance" (previously 35%).
  • The Jade Imprisonment skill has been reworked. It now consumes all Jade stacks to grant a ward equal to a percentage of maximum life based on the number of Jade stacks consumed.
  • The Ancestral Call Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "1% increased Accuracy Rating of Minions summoned by this Skill per 3 Dexterity" and "1% increased Damage of Minions summoned by this Skill per 3 Strength". The minions granted by this skill have been changed as follows.
  • The cooldown of the Ancestral Jade Caster's fixed skill has been reduced to 10 seconds (previously 15 seconds).
  • The Ancestral Jade Giant's damage now has "300% increased Stun Threshold" (previously 200%).
  • The Warcaller's Call buff granted by the Ancestral Warhorn now grants 10 Rage on hit (previously 5) and 20% increased Skill Speed (previously 10%).
  • The Paua Shell Aura granted by the Ancestral Spirit Turtle now provides "80% increased Armour to nearby Allies" (previously 50%) and "40% increased Block Chance" (previously 25%).


Gemling Legionnaire

  • The Efficiency Enhancement Ascendancy Passive Skill now also provides 20% less Attributes.
  • The Integrated Efficiency Ascendancy Passive Skill has been swapped with the Magnesite Zing. Integrated Efficiency no longer adds 3 skill slots. Instead, it now provides "20% increased Skill Damage per Red Support Gem Equipped", "6% increased Skill Speed per Green Support Gem Equipped", and "20% increased Skill Critical Strike Chance per Blue Support Gem Equipped".
  • The "+1 to Level of all Skills" effect has been removed from the Magnesite Implantation Ascendancy Passive Skill. Instead, you can now choose one of the following: "+2 to Level of all Skills with Strength Requirements", "+2 to Level of all Skills with Dexterity Requirements", or "+2 to Level of all Skills with Intelligence Requirements".


Witch Hunter

  • The Ruthless Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "40% increased Damage against Enemies based on their Missing Focus" (previously 30%).
  • The Tenacious Ritual Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "35% less Armour and Evasion" (previously 50%). The barrier charge delay of the Barrier of Magic has also been reduced by 2 seconds at all gem levels.


Deadeye

  • The Thrilling Chase Ascendancy Passive Skill now has "Skills gain double the benefit from spending Frenzy Charges (previously 50% chance to gain double the benefit)".


Pathfinder

  • The Sprint Attack Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "50% less Movement Speed Penalty when using Skills while Moving" (previously 30%). The location of this Passive Skill has been swapped with Tenacious Pursuit.
  • The Linked Chemistry Ascendancy Passive Skill has been removed. As a result, the prerequisite for Sustained Elixirs has been removed.
  • The optional Ascendancy Passive Skill "Practical Therapy" has been added. You can allocate one of the following: Grounding Rod, Digestive Reagent, or Thawing Bonfire to grant immunity to Shock, Ignite, or Freeze, respectively.
  • The Ascendancy Passive Skill "Sustainable Sales" has been added. Provides "30% of Evasion also grants Elemental Damage Reduction". Requires Practical Therapy.


Acolyte of Chayula

  • The Embodiment of Darkness Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "+8 Maximum Darkness per Level" (previously +5).
  • The Ravenous Doubt Ascendancy Passive Skill no longer provides "Mana Leech is applied instantly". Instead, it now provides "Mana Leech recovers based on other Damage Types as well as Physical Damage".
  • Lost Honor in Sekhema's Trials is now deducted before Acolyte of Chayula's Darkness.


Invoker

  • "...Protect me from the Sun" Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "50% less Evasion" (previously 40%).
  • "...Guide me with Grace" Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "Gain 1 Spirit per 8 Energy Shield on Equipped Armour" (previously 6) and "Gain 1 Spirit per 20 Evasion on Equipped Armour" (previously 15).
  • "...Scatter them to the Wind" Ascendancy Passive Skill's Elemental Expression Skill now deals 40% increased damage at all gem levels.


Blood Mage

  • The Blood Thorns Ascendancy Passive Skill no longer provides "Gain 10% of Damage as Extra Physical Damage". It now provides "Bleeding inflicted by you on Cursed Enemies is weighted".
  • A new Niche Exploitation Ascendancy Passive Skill has been added that causes Critical Strikes to ignore the monster's armor. Requires Blood Magic.


Infernalist

  • The cooldown of the Demonic Form skill granted by the Demonic Possession Ascendancy Passive Skill has been changed to 15 seconds (previously 20 seconds), and Demonfire now has a maximum of 10 (previously unlimited). You now lose a fixed amount of life per second (proportional to skill level) instead of a percentage of maximum life per second based on the number of Demonfire. The distance of Evasive Roll used while in Demonic Form has also been reduced.
  • The Seething Flesh Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "While in High Hellfire, you and nearby Allies gain 50% of Damage as Fire Damage" (previously 20%).
  • The Laughing Pyre Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "50% increased Critical Strike Damage Bonus" (previously 30%).
  • The Oath of Pyromancy Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "Lose 50% of Hellfire every second if you have not gained Hellfire in the past 2 seconds" (previously 10%).
  • The Flame Herald Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "All Damage dealt by you and nearby Allies is reflected in the chance and intensity of Ignite" instead of "All Damage dealt by you and nearby Allies is reflected in the chance and intensity of Ignite when not in Low Hellfire". Oath of Pyromancy is no longer required.
  • The Loyal Hellhound Ascendancy Passive Skill no longer has "When Buffed, 20% of Damage taken is applied to your Hellhound's Life before your own".
  • The Mastered Darkness Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "No Maximum Demonfire".
  • The Mana Minor Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "3% increased Maximum Mana" (previously 4%).
  • After allocating the Oath of Pyromancy Ascendancy Passive Skill, the maximum Demonfire will now be at least 1, even if your maximum mana is reduced by 100%.
  • Using Blink while in Demonic Form now plays a normal animation instead of landing and blinking.


Chronomancer

  • The Circular Heartbeat Ascendancy Passive Skill has been removed. As a result, the prerequisite for Fast River has been removed.
  • The Pseudo Hourglass Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "50% increased Cast Speed for 5 seconds every 10 seconds (previously 50% increased Cast Speed for 4 seconds every 12 seconds)".
  • The Echoing Flood, an Ascendancy Passive Skill that grants a trigger skill, has been added.


Stormweaver

  • The Power of Will Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "1% increased Arcane Surge Effect applied to you per 25 Maximum Mana" (previously 15).
  • The Gouging Wind Ascendancy Passive Skill now provides "Exposures you inflict apply 12% additional reduction to the affected Total Resistance" (previously 20%).
  • The Twin Strike Ascendancy Notable Passive Skill no longer provides "50% less Shock Duration". Instead, it now provides "25% less Intensity of Shocks you inflict".

Passive Skill Tree Changes

  • With the addition of the Huntress and new game mechanics, passive support skills for them have been added throughout the passive skill tree. Many skill groups have been added, mainly in the Huntress/Ranger area of the tree, and existing passive skills have been updated.
  • A new skill group related to Blind has been added.
  • A new skill group related to Hair Trigger has been added.

  • The following Notable Passive Skills have been removed and can no longer grant oil attributes, but existing oil attributes will continue to work: Focus Shatter, Focus Sustain, Duration Mixture, Unescapable, Shackles, Powerful Mixture
  • 12 Jewel Slots have been removed from the Passive Skill Tree. Existing characters who had Jewels equipped in these slots can reclaim their Jewels with the newly added /reclaimjewels chat command in their main inventory.
  • The Acrobatics Keystone Node Passive Skill now provides "75% less Evasion" (previously 70%).
  • The Spooky Charger Keystone Node Passive Skill now has "Double Mana Cost" effect added.
  • The Giant's Blood Keystone Node Passive Skill now has "Weapon Attribute Requirements are tripled" effect. This effect previously only applied to axes, maces, and swords, but was simply described as "weapons".
  • The Cat-like Agility Notable Passive Skill now provides "40% increased Evasion if you have used Evasive Roll in the past 4 seconds" (previously 25%).
  • The Hawk Technique Notable Passive Skill now provides "1% increased Attack Speed per 25 Dexterity" (previously 15).
  • The Freedom of Movement Notable Passive Skill now provides "10% reduced Movement Speed Penalty applied when using Skills" (previously "30% increased Evasion if you have used Evasive Roll in the past 4 seconds").
  • The Heavy Buffer Notable Passive Skill now provides "5% of Damage taken bypasses Energy Shield" instead of "10% less Maximum Life".
  • The Icebreaker Notable Passive Skill now provides "Gain 50% of Maximum Energy Shield as Extra Freeze Threshold" (previously 100%).
  • The Mana Blessing Notable Passive Skill's "5% increased Maximum Mana" effect has been removed and now provides "20% increased Mana Regeneration Rate" effect.
  • The Arrow Master Notable Passive Skill now provides "20% increased Bow Damage with Equipped Quiver (previously 30% increased)". The two preceding Small Passive Skills have been changed to 6% (previously 10%), and the two following Passive Skills now provide "20% increased Chance to inflict a Status Ailment with Projectiles" or "15% increased Projectile Stun Threshold".
  • The Keep Piling Notable Passive Skill now provides a "30% increased Armor Shred" debuff effect instead of its previous effect.
  • The Erudition Notable Passive Skill now provides "7% increased Attributes (previously 10% increased)".
  • The Unrefined Mana Notable Passive Skill now provides "8% increased maximum Mana (previously 12% increased)".
  • The Noodle Effect Notable Passive Skill now provides "+13 to all Attributes" instead of "7% increased Attributes". It also provides -7% to Chaos Resistance (previously -13%).
  • The Ground Shatter Notable Passive Skill now provides "Slam Skills used directly have a 10% chance to cause an Aftershock, dealing the same damage to enemies within 1.8 meters" (previously the range was not specified).
  • The Free Movement Notable Passive Skill now provides "12% reduced Movement Speed Penalty when using Skills while Moving" (previously 3% increased Movement Speed). The effect of one of the "Slow applied to the player" Small Passive Skills in this Skill Cluster has also been changed to "8% reduced Movement Speed Penalty".
  • The "2x increased Stun Threshold" effect of the Unwavering Stance Keystone Passive Skill has been removed, and instead, an "Unaffected by Weakened Stun" effect has been added.
  • The "Attack Damage when Allies are nearby" Small Passive Skill in the Killing Instinct Skill Cluster has been replaced with another Small Passive Skill that provides "10% increased Attack Damage".
  • The values of the Small Passive Skills that provided "8% increased effect of Auras from your Skills" have been changed to 5%. The values of the Major Passive Skills that provided "20% increased effect of Auras from your Skills" have been changed to 12%.
  • The descriptions of the Iron Grip and Iron Will Keystone Node effects have been clarified.

  • Many Skills have had their base damage and/or damage growth per level rebalanced. Most of these changes are not specifically mentioned below as the changes are too widespread.
  • The Mana cost of all Attacks, Marks, and Warcries has been reduced, especially at higher Gem levels.
  • The increase in Minion Attack Power and Life has been adjusted. In the early game, the normal Attack Power and Life are the same as before, but at higher levels, especially Gem Level 20 or higher, they are lower than before.
  • The target Life limit of the Skeletal Pyromaniac's Explosive Demise skill has been adjusted to match the Life increase.
  • The Life healing increase of the Skeletal Cleric has also been adjusted at each level.
  • Chain Lightning no longer deals additional damage per remaining Chain, and creates 6-8 Chains at Gem Levels 5-20 (previously 2-5). Quality now amplifies damage by 0-2% per remaining Chain as an additional effect (previously 0-5%).
  • Archmage now provides "Non-Channeled Spells gain 3% of Damage per 100 of Player's Maximum Mana as extra Lightning Damage" at all Gem levels (previously 5-6% at Gem levels 14-20). Non-Channeled Spells now additionally cost 6.7-6.1% of Maximum Mana at Gem levels 14-20 (previously 5.35-5.05%). Quality now provides "0-10% reduced Mana Reservation" instead of "Non-Channeled Spells gain 0-2% of Damage per 100 of Player's Maximum Mana as extra Lightning Damage".
  • The Armor Shred value of Armor Shredder has been reduced by approximately 20% at all Gem levels.
  • Artillery Ballista base Physical Damage scaling now matches that of other totems like Shockwave Totem and Ripwire Ballista. The Artillery Explosion now converts 100% of Physical Damage to Fire Damage (previously 90%). Quality now provides 0 to -0.4 seconds to Totem base Attack Time (previously increased Attack Speed).
  • The Ancestral Warrior Totem now specifies that it uses two-handed maces, making it clear that it benefits from mace-related stats. Quality now provides "+0-2 seconds to Totem duration (previously +0-0.4 seconds)".
  • Banner Skills now have an Aura Radius of 4.5 metres (previously 4), and are now correctly considered Aura skills.
  • Barrage Repeats now deal 50% less Damage at all Gem levels (previously 23-15% at Gem levels 5-20). 560-410% of repeated Skill's attack time is now added to this skill's cooldown, to a maximum of 30 seconds at Gem levels 5-20 (previously 1440-1215%). Quality now causes Repeats to deal +0-5% more Damage (previously +0-15%).
  • Barrier Invocation now only builds energy from enemy hits to Energy Shield rather than all hits to Energy Shield. Barrier Invocation now gains 1 Energy for each 10 Energy Shield lost to Damage Taken (previously 5).
  • The Mixture of Bleeding now provides "200% increased Intensity of Bleeding inflicted (previously 100%)".
  • Blink is now a Travel Skill.
  • Bone Blast now has a 40% chance to inflict Bleeding on Hit (previously 20%).
  • Bonestorm's shrapnel has become a general mechanic called Impale, similar to the Impale mechanic from Path of Exile 1. Hits that Impale an enemy cause the next attack hit against that enemy to gain added physical damage equal to 30% of the physical damage dealt by the impaling hit.
  • Bonestorm now Impales on hit instead of applying a specialised debuff, and has 200% more Impale magnitude.
  • Cast on Minion Death now only gains energy when a sustained minion dies. Additionally, the amount of energy granted when a minion created by a minion skill that is much lower level (compared to the current area level) dies is reduced. Minion skills of level 20 or higher do not receive any penalties in endgame content.
  • Cast on Shock now gains 1 Energy per Power of enemies you Shock with Hits from skills (previously 2).
  • Cluster Grenade's Mini Grenades Explosion Radius is now 1.4 metres (previously 1.2 metres).
  • Combat Frenzy now has Gain a Frenzy Charge when you Freeze, Electrocute or Pin an enemy, no more than once every 5.3-4.1 seconds at Gem levels 8-20 (previously 2.48-1.58).
  • Mixture skills now require an Unarmed Weapon set. Mixture skills do not deal base unarmed damage, and only deal the attack damage specified by the skill, similar to Marks.
  • Conductivity provides "-25% Lightning Resistance to Cursed Enemies (previously -32%)" at Gem Level 7 and "-29% Lightning Resistance to Cursed Enemies (previously -36%)" at Gem Level 20.
  • Cold Snap now has an explosion radius of 1.6 metres (previously 0.7 metres).
  • Curse skills now apply the curse after a delay of 1.5 seconds (previously 1 second).
  • Dark Effigy projectiles now have a Critical Hit Chance of 7% (previously 11%), and an impact radius of 1.2 metres (previously 0.8 metres). Quality is now 0-20% chance to inflict Withered for 2 seconds on Hit (previously 0-50%).
  • The Decay skill granted by the Corpsewalk Unique Boots now provides "Poisons enemies in the Poison Cloud for up to 10-19.5% of the corpse's maximum Life as Chaos Damage at Gem Levels 1-20 (previously 30-39.5%)".
  • Despair provides "-20% Chaos Resistance to Cursed Enemies (previously -32%)" at Gem Level 9 and "-24% Chaos Resistance to Cursed Enemies (previously -36%)" at Gem Level 20.
  • Corpse Explosion now deals Physical Damage equal to 8.8-17% of the corpse's maximum Life at Gem Levels 7-20 (previously 20% at all Gem Levels), and this value increases further past Gem Level 20. It also now deals a minimum of 41 to a maximum of 61 Fire Damage at Gem Level 7 (previously a minimum of 28 to a maximum of 43), and a minimum of 139 to a maximum of 208 Fire Damage at Gem Level 20 (previously a minimum of 169 to a maximum of 254).
  • Detonating Arrow's Explosion Radius is now 2.4 metres (previously 1.8).
  • Minion instructions now have a 0.5 second cooldown.
  • Elemental Invocation now gains 10 Energy per Power of enemies you Freeze with Hits from Skills (previously 10), 2 Energy per Power of enemies you Ignite with Hits from Skills, modified by the percentage of the enemy's Ailment Threshold the Ignite will deal (previously 3). It also now gains 1 Energy per Power of enemies you Shock with Hits from Skills (previously 3).
  • Escape Shot now scales Freeze Buildup with Gem level, up to 585% more at Gem level 20 (previously 300% at all levels). Quality is now 0-120% more Freeze Buildup (previously 0-80%).
  • The Mixture of Explosions now provides "200% increased Intensity of Ignites inflicted (previously 100%)".
  • Explosive Grenade cooldown is now 7 seconds (previously 3 seconds). Now has an Explosion Radius of 2-2.4 metres at Gem levels 1-20 (previously 1.8-2.4). Now has a Detonation Time of 3 seconds (previously 2.5 seconds).
  • Eye of Winter now gains 75% of damage as damage of the corresponding Type when passing over an Elemental Ground Effect (previously 50%). The Skill also no longer incorrectly states the Projectile applies the passed over-ground effect to nearby Enemies.
  • Falling Thunder projectiles now have 50% more Damage per Power Charge consumed (previously 25%).
  • Fireball no longer ignores the Rage Spirit limit. Fireball's additional projectiles are not affected by additional projectiles. The purpose of this change is to prevent performance issues when used with the Volley Fire Support Gem.
  • Firebolt now has a maximum downward tilt angle against closer targets, making it harder to hit enemies with multiple explosions.
  • Firestorm's Improved Bolts now have a Critical Hit Chance of 7% (previously 14%).
  • Flameblast now has a 15 second Cooldown (previously none), and now has 75% more damage per Stage (previously 200%). It now has an Explosion radius of 0.6 metres per Stage (previously 0.4), and Quality now provides 0-20% more Cast Speed (previously 0-10%).
  • Fire Wall now provides "Adds a minimum of 33 to a maximum of 48 Fire Damage to Projectiles passing through the wall at Gem Level 20 (previously a minimum of 64 to a maximum of 91)". There is no change to the value at Gem Level 1. The value decreases more sharply past Gem Level 20.
  • Flammability provides "-25% Fire Resistance to Cursed Enemies (previously -32%)" at Gem Level 7 and "-29% Fire Resistance to Cursed Enemies (previously -36%)" at Gem Level 20.
  • Flash Grenade now has 500% more Stun Buildup (previously 400%).
  • Fragmentation Rounds base Explosion radius is now 1.8 metres at all Gem levels (previously 1.4-1.6 at Gem levels 1-20).
  • Freezing Shards now fires 5 projectiles (previously 7), and now has 100% more Freeze Buildup (previously 50%).
  • Freezing Salvo now scales Freeze Buildup with Gem level, up to 107% more at Gem level 20 (previously 50% at all levels).
  • Frost Bomb now has Pulse and Explosion radius is 2-2.7 metres at Gem levels 1-20 (previously 1.7-2.4).
  • Frost Wall now has a Cooldown of 5 seconds (previously 3 seconds).
  • Frozen Locus' explosion now deals 6 to 9 base Quarterstaff Cold Damage at Gem level 1 (unchanged), scaling up to 141 to 212 at Gem level 20 (previously 89 to 134). The damage past Gem level 20 has also been adjusted. Explosion radius is now 2.4 metres (previously 2).
  • The Mixture of Lightning now provides "200% increased Shock Chance (previously 100%)".
  • Galvanic Shards now converts 60% of Physical Damage to Lightning Damage (previously 40%).
  • Gas Arrow, Gas Grenade, and Decay now have a limit of 6 Poison Clouds.
  • Glacial Bolt Walls now last 8 seconds (previously 6).
  • Glacial Cascade Quality is now gains 0-10% of Physical damage as Cold damage (instead of 0-10% increased attack speed).
  • The Ghastly Feast cannot be engraved in the Gem Processing menu. Existing Ghastly Feast Gems have been disabled. We plan to reorganize the Ghastly Feast in the future.
  • Hammer of the Gods no longer has a Cooldown, but now requires 20 Glory to use. Glory is a resource that gets built up by Heavy Stunning enemies. The amount of Glory gained is based on the Stunned monster's Power. Quality is now +0-0.4 to impact Radius (previously 1% increased cooldown recovery rate).
  • It is specified that the Mark equipped on Chayula's Hand is activated. Only the description has been changed, and there is no change in function.
  • It is now specified that Herald skills with attack hits cannot evade the hits of that skill. Only the description has been changed, and there is no change in function.
  • Herald of Ash's Explosion Radius is now 1.2 metres (previously 1).
  • The Quality of Herald of Ash now provides "Additional +0-5% of Overkill Damage is reflected in base Ignite Damage" instead of "Overkill Damage is 0-2% or more of the enemy's maximum Life, igniting nearby enemies", which actually acted as a disadvantage.
  • Herald of Ice's Explosion Radius is now 1.6 metres (previously 1.8).
  • Herald of Purity now requires a Martial Weapon. This creates a weapon restriction, just like the remaining Herald skills.
  • Herald of Thunder's Bolt impact Radius is now 1.4 metres (previously 1.6).
  • Hexblast can now only detonate Curses for which at least 50% of the duration has expired. This means it can never explode Curses that have an infinite duration. Curse orbs will be visually different when 50% of the Curse duration has expired if you have Hexblast equipped. The Explosion radius of Hexblast has been increased to 2 metres (previously 1.6 metres), and it now has a maximum of 3 Explosions per cast (previously 9).
  • The damage of Hexblast has been reduced by approximately 17% at all Gem levels. The explosion radius has also been reduced to 1.2 meters (previously 1.6 meters).
  • Hypothermia provides "-25% Cold Resistance to Cursed Enemies (previously -32%)" at Gem Level 7 and "-29% Cold Resistance to Cursed Enemies (previously -36%)" at Gem Level 20.
  • The Life increase of Ice Crystals created by Glacial Bolt and Frost Wall is lower above Gem Level 25. There is no change to the increase up to this level.
  • Ice Shards Explosion radius is now 1.4 metres (previously 1.2 metres), has a Maximum of 16 active shards (previously 12), and now has 16 Bolts loaded per clip (previously 12). Shards that have existed for at least 0.5 seconds (previously 1 second) now deal 700% more Damage (previously 900%).
  • If you have multiple Travel Skills with cooldowns, their cooldowns are now shared.
  • The description of Orb of Lightning has been improved to specify that the Orb of Lightning itself does not hit enemies.
  • The behavior of the Skeletal Cleric has been improved to reduce situations where it tries to run to an enemy and attack.
  • Incinerate now has 25% less Ignite Duration (previously 50%).
  • Leap Slam now has 62-88% more Stun Buildup at Gem levels 7-20 (previously 26%-39%).
  • Lightning Conduit now drops additional lightning multiple times when consuming the Shock applied to an enemy. This lightning is divided among the targets within the skill's range, but may fall on the same target multiple times if there are too few targets hit.
  • Lightning Bolt now has 200% more Chance to Shock (previously 100%).
  • Lightning Conduit has 20% more Damage with Hits per 5% Shock Effect on Enemy (previously 100% more Damage).
  • Lightning Rod Arrow now disappears after being Chained to 6 times at all Gem levels (previously 8-14 times at Gem levels 1-20). Arrows now take 1 second to charge up before releasing a Lightning Burst when chained to. Lightning Arrows that chain to Lightning Rod arrows cause the pulse to happen instantly instead of needing to charge up.
  • Lightning Warp does not create Shocked Ground if it targets an Orb of Lightning projectile.
  • Magma Burst (of the Magma Barrier skill) now deals 6-10 to 151-226 base Fire Damage at Gem Levels 1-20 (previously 4-7 to 234-351). It now provides "Adds a minimum of 6 to a maximum of 8 Fire Damage per 15 Shield Armor (previously 2-4 at Level 1 and 3-6 at Level 20)" at all levels. Damage efficiency is now 130-405% (previously 120-490%).
  • Magnetic Salvo now deals 100-140% of Attack Damage as Shock at Gem Levels 13-20 (previously 89-125%) and 155-218% of Attack Damage as Blast at Gem Levels 13-20 (previously 177-250%). It now fires a maximum of 8 missiles at all Gem Levels (previously 14-17 at Gem Levels 13-20). Quality now provides "+0-4 Missiles" instead of "0-20% increased Projectile Damage".
  • The Quality of Mana Storm now provides "Gains additional damage as lightning" instead of "The effect of Mana Storm persists after leaving the storm" (which did not actually function).
  • Mantra of Destruction's Purple Flames of Chayula now has a duration of 8 seconds (previously 6).
  • Malice now applies Critical Weakness every 0.52 seconds at level 19 (previously 0.64 seconds).
  • Molten Blast now has "While Dual Wielding, fires twice as many Projectiles with 15% less Attack Speed (previously 30%).
  • Pain Offering's Aura now grants Minions 28-58% increased Damage at gem levels 5-20, rather than 29-44% more Damage. The Aura also now grants Minions 22-58% increased Attack and Cast Speed at Gem levels 5-20 (previously 30% at all levels).
  • Perfect Strike no longer always Ignites, and now has an Attack Speed of 35% of base (previously 45%). Quality now provides 0-20% more Ignite Chance (previously 0-20% increased Magnitude of Ignite you inflict). Perfect Strike also now deals damage in a wider area close to the player, making it less likely to miss enemies standing next to the player.
  • Permafrost Bolts now scales Freeze Buildup with Gem level, up to 186% more at Gem level 20 (previously 80% at all levels).
  • Plague Bearer now stores up to 197-15257 Poison Damage at Gem levels 4-20 (previously 158-14989). The damage past Gem level 20 has also been reduced.
  • Poisonous Concoction now has 200% more Magnitude of Poison inflicted (previously 100%). Now deals base Physical Damage instead of Chaos Damage.
  • Profane Ritual now has a Ritual radius of 2.2 metres (previously 1.8 metres).
  • The duration of the Rage Spirit's spirit has been changed to 5 seconds (previously 4 seconds), and now summons a maximum of 2 spirits per spell cast (previously 5). The description of Rage Spirit has also been changed to specify that the triggered spell does not summon a spirit.
  • Improved the performance of situations where a very large number of Rage Spirits are created. If a large number of spirits are summoned at once, the spirits are created in stages over a short period of time.
  • The frequency at which arrows fall in Rain of Arrows is affected by the projectile speed attribute. In other words, if the projectile speed is increased (for example), the same number of arrows will fall to the ground in a shorter period of time.
  • Reaper's Invocation now gains 15 Energy per Power of enemies you kill with Melee Attacks (previously 10).
  • Ripwire Ballista Bolts now Pins Enemies as though dealing 400% more Damage (previously 250%).
  • Rolling Slam now has +1 second to Total Attack Time (previously +1.5 seconds), and the Mana cost has been adjusted accordingly.
  • Sacrifice provides "66% reduced Minion Revival Speed (previously 37%)" at Gem Level 14 and "60% reduced Minion Revival Speed (previously 31%)" at Gem Level 20.
  • Seismic Cry no longer has increased Warcry Speed.
  • Shard Scavenger now instantly reloads your Crossbow upon Consuming Freeze, Shock, Ignite, or Fully Broken Armour, no more than once every 7.3-6.1 seconds at Gem levels 8-20 (previously 9.3-8.2).
  • The Mixture of Shattering now provides "200% increased Freeze Buildup (previously 100%)".
  • A random delay is added to the explosion of Shattering Palm. If the damage-dealing hit of Shattering Palm breaks an existing Ice Shard on the target, the target will no longer have an Ice Shard applied to it.
  • Shield Wall segment Life past Gem level 20 now matches that of Ice Crystals (from Frost Wall for example), this is a reduction in total Life. Explosion radius is now 4 metres (previously 3).
  • Shockchain Arrows can now chain up to 8 metres away (previously 4).
  • Siphoning Strike's shockwave radius is now 2 metres (previously 1.8).
  • Skeletal Arsonist's Explosive Demise Skill deals additional Fire Damage equal to 12% of Minion's maximum Life (previously 15%), and now has 2.4 metres Explosion Radius (previously 2 metres).
  • Skeletal Brute Quality now causes Brutes to inflict more Stun Buildup instead of having increased maximum Life.
  • Skeletal Frost Mage's Ice Bomb now has an 8 second cooldown (previously 6).
  • Skeletal Reavers now correctly gain Rage On Hit while their Command: Enrage skill is active.
  • Skeletal Storm Mage chain count now scales up with minion gem level, up to +4 Chains at Gem level 20 (previously +2 at all levels).
  • Skeletal Warriors can no longer be engraved in the Gem Processing menu. This was a temporary measure until the original function was properly implemented. The existing Skeletal Warrior Skill Gem has been changed to the Skeletal Sniper Gem. The Skeletal Warrior skill granted by some Scepters can now summon additional skeletons by occupying Spirit, in addition to the two skeletons that are automatically granted at no cost.
  • The attack time of Snipe has been adjusted to match the time it takes to complete a perfect strike. This is a change to improve the description, and there is no change to the skill's function.
  • Storm Wave now has 100% more chance to Shock.
  • Soul Offering now grants 56-77% increased Spell Damage at Gem levels 13-20, rather than 32-39% more Spell Damage.
  • Spark now fires 1-20 projectiles at Gem Levels 1-20 (previously 6-14), and the 0-19% increased Projectile Speed effect is removed. Quality now provides "0-30% Projectile Speed" (previously "Fires +0-4 Projectiles").
  • Spiral Volley now has 30% more Damage per Frenzy Charge Consumed (previously 20%).
  • Sunder now has +1 second to Total Attack Time (previously +1.4 seconds), and the Mana cost has been adjusted accordingly.
  • Stampede Quality now provides 0-20% chance to cause an Aftershock (previously 0-30%).
  • Stormblast Bolts no longer have 30% less reload speed.
  • Stormcaller Arrow's Bolt now has 500% more chance to Shock (previously 800%).
  • Storm's Vane now deals 146-490% of Attack Damage on Shock at Gem Levels 3-20 (previously 145-316%). It now requires a Chain of 10 to use (previously 4), and the bell is destroyed after 10 hits at all Gem Levels (previously 10-19 hits at Gem Levels 3-20). Quality now provides "+0-2 hits before the bell is destroyed" (previously "+0-6 hits before the bell is destroyed").
  • The Storm's Cage Shockwave no longer has "30% increased Damage per Elemental Ailment on the Cage" or "60% of Physical Damage Converted to each Elemental Ailment on the Cage". Instead, it now has "30% of Physical Damage gained as Extra Damage of each Element matching the Cage's Elemental Ailments". It also now deals 60-132% more Attack Damage at Gem level 3-20 (previously 96-211%).
  • Storm's Cage can now only trigger a Shockwave every 250ms. This is a hard limit, not a cooldown, so is not affected by Cooldown Recovery Rate.
  • The limit to the number of Cages Storm's Cage can drop is now shared between copies of the skill.
  • Herald Skills' on-kill effects can no longer be triggered by kills caused by the Herald Skill itself.
  • The Split effect of Barrage Support now applies to thrown Spears.
  • Toxic Growth now requires more Stored Poison to reach maximum Radius and Damage, and more Stored Poison to expire faster. Pustule Duration time is now 15 seconds (previously 6). Stored Poison now adds up to +1.5 metres to base Explosion Radius (previously +1). Now Fires 6 Arrows (previously 8), and Quality now provides Fires +0-2 Arrows and +0-2 Pustules (previously +0-3 Projectiels). Now has a limit of 6 Pustules.
  • Unearth's Bone Construct duration is now 15 seconds (previously 12 seconds). Quality now provides +0-5 seconds to Bone Construct duration (previously +0-4).
  • Vaulting Impact now has 54-88% more Stun build up at Gem levels 3-20 (previously 30% at all Gem levels).
  • Vine Arrow now has a limit of 1 Plant (but can be increased to 2 with the Overabundance Support). The Vine now has a Plant duration of 8 seconds (previously 6 seconds).
  • Volcanic Fissure now has a limit of 8 Fissures on the ground at a time. Aftershocks no longer cause other Fissures to erupt.
  • Voltaic Grenade cooldown is now 6 seconds (previously 3 seconds). Now has an Explosion Radius of 2-2.4 metres at Gem levels 1-20 (previously 1.8-2.4). Now has a Detonation Time of 2.5 seconds (previously 1.2 seconds).
  • Wave of Frost now has 390-585% more Freeze Build up at Gem levels 7-20 (previously 275% at all Gem levels).
  • Wind Dancer now has "10% increased Evasion per Stage" at all gem levels (previously 15-19% at Gem level 4-20), and "Gain 1 Stage every 1.12 to 1.44 seconds" at Gem level 4-20 (previously 1.3 to 1.5 seconds). Gale Force now deals 53-163% more Attack Damage at Gem level 4-20 (previously 40-125%), and no longer has 5% base Critical Strike Chance, instead using the Main Hand's Critical Strike Chance. Wind Dancer Stages are now consumed when you hit an enemy, rather than when you are hit by a melee attack. The Wind Dancer Stage gain timer is no longer paused when you are hit. Quality now provides up to +0.4 metres to Explosion Radius (previously +0-1 to maximum Stages).
  • Withering Presence Withered duration is 6 seconds (previously 4 seconds), and now Withers enemies in your Presence every 1.74-1.42 seconds at Gem levels 4-20 (previously 2.78-1.58).
  • Skills with an expanding area were unintentionally increasing their radius over time, rather than their area of effect. They still increase their radius, but we have changed the description and lowered the values of affected skills.
  • Gas Arrow, Gas Grenade, and Toxic Cloud of Corruption now increase in radius by 20% every second, up to a maximum of 80% (previously 50% each, up to a maximum of 200%).
  • Toxic Cloud of Skeleton Sniper now increases in radius by 20% every second, up to a maximum of 80% (previously 40% each, up to a maximum of 200%).
  • Ice Ground of Frozen Trail now increases in radius by 30% every second, up to a maximum of 150% (previously 40% each, up to a maximum of 240%).
  • The Discipline and Purity Auras granted by some Sceptres now apply to the player equipping the Sceptre and their Allies.
  • The spread of Grenade Skills with more than one projectile (such as when using the Scattershot Support) has been reduced by 40%, except for Cluster Grenade.
  • Releasing Raise Shield immediately after blocking a skill now performs a Shield Bash that damages and stuns enemies in front of you, and also dazes them if you're using a Tower Shield.
  • A "Conditional" Gem Tag has been added. This tag indicates skills that cannot be used until certain conditions are met. Chain is an example.
  • Properties that add or subtract a fixed amount from a skill's resource cost now apply before support gems' cost multipliers. Properties that add or subtract a fixed amount from a skill's total resource cost still apply after all other properties, as before.

Support Gem Changes

  • Cosmic Imprint now causes Supported Skills to have 25% less Area of Effect (previously 35%).
  • Ferocity now causes Supported Skills to deal 25% more Physical Damage (previously 35%).
  • Lava Surge now has a Mana Multiplier of 110% (previously 100%).
  • Cannibalism now has "Recover 2% of Life on Kill while Supported Skills are Active" (previously 4%).
  • Capacitor now has a Mana Multiplier of 130% (previously 100%).
  • Close Combat now has a Mana Multiplier of 120% (previously 140%).
  • Careful Casting now has a Mana Multiplier of 115% (previously 100%).
  • Controlled Destruction and Unleash Support can no longer be equipped with skills that have secondary hits that deal damage, but no hits that deal spell damage. These supports had no effect on the damage of such skills, and were only equippable when they should not have been.
  • Crescendo now has a Mana Multiplier of 120% (previously 100%).
  • Echo now has "Supported Skills deal 3% more Damage per Chain" (previously 2%), and loses a Chain if Supported Skills do not create a Chain for 4 seconds (previously 3 seconds).
  • Exploit Weakness now has "Supported Skills deal 40% more Damage by consuming enemies' fully-broken Armour" (previously 50%).
  • Frenzy Charge Infusion and Fortify Support no longer apply to Minions that cannot take damage.
  • Fist of War now has a Mana Multiplier of 150% (previously 140%).
  • Hourglass now causes Supported Skills to deal 30% more Damage (previously 40%).
  • Impact Shockwave now has "Supported Skills cause an Aftershock when they Stun enemies, dealing the same damage to enemies within 1.8 metres" (previously 2.0 metres).
  • Resilience now has a Mana Multiplier of 115% (previously 100%).
  • Seclusion now has a Mana Multiplier of 100% (previously 120%).
  • Empower now has a Mana Multiplier of 130% (previously 120%), and now causes Supported Skills to have 30% increased Area of Effect (previously 40%).
  • Mana Flash's Flash Radius is now 2 metres (previously 1.6 metres), and now deals Fire Damage equal to 25% of your current Mana spent (previously 20%).
  • Fortify Support now grants "Minions from Supported Skills take 35% less Damage" (previously "Minions have 50% increased maximum Life").
  • Momentum Support now provides "25% less Movement Speed Penalty while using Supported Skills" (previously 30%).
  • Neural Overload now has a Mana Multiplier of 100% (previously 120%).
  • Overcharge Support no longer causes Supported Skills to have less Shock Duration. It now has "Shocks caused by Supported Skills are reflected back to you".
  • Potency now has "Supported Skills have 40% increased Critical Strike Chance when consuming an Endurance Charge" (previously 30%).
  • Scattershot Support now has Supported Skills deal 35% less Damage (previously 20%).
  • Shock Exploitation can no longer be imprinted in the Gem Crafting Menu. Existing copies of this Support Gem will still function.
  • Spell Echo Support no longer applies to Triggered Skills.
  • Spiral Barrage now fires forwards with the first arrow, rather than the last.
  • Overexposure now increases the magnitude of Exposure applied by Supported Skills by 20% (previously 30%).
  • The Unwavering Stun Threshold Multiplier value now applies differently to small stuns inflicted and large stuns inflicted.
  • Opportunity now has "Supported Skills deal 35% more Damage if Released with Perfect Timing" (previously 50%), and "Supported Skills have 35% shorter Perfect Timing Window" (previously 25%).
  • Withering Touch now applies Withered with a chance based on the amount of Chaos Damage the hit deals (previously always applied 1 stack). This chance can exceed 100%, allowing you to apply multiple stacks if the hit damage is high enough.

Unique Item Changes

  • The radius of the Resistance to Ailments Unique Jewel has been changed to Medium (previously Large). This change does not affect existing items. The values of properties that caused key passive skills within the radius to also grant 2-4% increased to specific stats have been changed to 2-3%. Using a Divine Orb may lower the performance of existing items.
  • The Resistance to Ailments Unique Jewel no longer causes small passive skills in the radius to grant 1% increased maximum Life or 1% increased maximum Mana. Instead, it now causes small passive skills in the radius to grant +8 to maximum Life or +8 to maximum Mana. Existing items are not affected by this change.
  • The Jewel of the Stars Unique Amulet now has "+50-100 to all Attributes" (previously +80-100). Using a Divine Orb may lower the performance of existing versions.
  • Atziri's Disfavour Unique Helmet now has "10% of Damage taken not recouped as Energy Shield" (previously 20-25%), "+60-100 to maximum Mana" (previously +40-60). It also now has "Gain 10-15% of Maximum Life as Extra Maximum Energy Shield" (previously 25-30%). You can use a Divine Orb to update existing items to the new values.
  • The Tempest's Chant Unique Amulet once again triggers Lightning Bolt (previously Greater Lightning Bolt).
  • The Victorious Crown Unique Helmet now has "10-15% increased Rarity of Items found" (previously 10-20%).
  • The Shards of Dreams Unique Ring now has "10% increased maximum Mana" (previously 20%). You can use a Divine Orb to update existing items to the new values.
  • The Eternal Gaze Unique Amulet now has "Gain 4-6% of Maximum Mana as Extra Maximum Energy Shield", "40-60% increased Mana Regeneration Rate", "+40-60 to maximum Mana" (previously +50). You can use a Divine Orb to update existing items to the new values.
  • Chayula's Eyes Unique Amulet no longer provides +2500 to Stun Threshold, and instead provides "Cannot be Stunned while on Low Life".
  • The Flameflower Unique Amulet now has "10-15% increased Rarity of Items found" (previously 10-20%).
  • The Ghost Reaver Unique Armour now has "25% of Maximum Life Converted to Energy Shield" (previously 50%). You can use a Divine Orb to update existing items to the new values.
  • The Grip of Wisdom and Action Unique Gloves now have "Adds 1 to 10 Lightning Damage if you have at least 20 Intelligence" and "1% increased Attack Speed per 20 Dexterity" (previously 3% per 25 Dexterity). The per attribute changes will affect existing items, while a Divine Orb can be used to change the remaining values. This Unique Item now drops as a Spiral Wrap base type, rather than a Velvet Wrap. This change does not affect existing items.
  • The Ingenuity Unique Belt no longer has 40-80% increased Bonuses gained from Equipped Rings. Instead, it now has 20-30% increased bonuses gained from Equipped Left Ring, and 20-30% increased bonuses gained from Equipped Right Ring. It also now has +1-2 Charm Slots, -20-20% increased Charm Charges Gained, and -10-10 reduced Charm Charges Used. Existing versions of this item are unaffected by these changes.
  • The Last Flame Unique Relic now has "Cannot Recoup Damage". Recoup effects include Divine Blessing, Jade Prison, and Arcane Ward. Existing items are not affected by this change.
  • Mahuxotl's Machination Unique Shield now has "100% increased Effect of your Equipped Soul Core" (previously 333-666%). It also now has the additional effect "Sacrifice Never Ends".
  • The Molten Vortex Unique Flask no longer has "Gain all Mana when used". Existing items are not affected by this change.
  • Moriori Invictus Unique Armour now spawns with 3 random properties (previously 2).
  • The following random properties can no longer appear:
  • 10% increased Rarity of Items found per Rune or Soul Core Equipped
  • 5% increased maximum Life per Rune or Soul Core Equipped
  • 5% increased maximum Mana per Rune or Soul Core Equipped
  • 5% increased to all Attributes per Rune or Soul Core Equipped
  • The following random properties have been adjusted:
  • +6-10 to Mind per Rune or Soul Core Equipped (previously 10)
  • 6-10% increased Global Defences per Rune or Soul Core Equipped (previously 10)
  • +5-7% to all Elemental Resistances per Rune or Soul Core Equipped (previously 10)
  • Seven new random "per Rune or Soul Core Equipped" properties have been added.
  • The Oak's Oath Unique Shield no longer provides "+50 to Mind", and instead provides "50% increased Life Regeneration Rate".
  • The Pillar of the Caged God Unique Quarterstaff now provides 1% increased Attack Speed per 10 Dexterity, and 1% increased Area of Effect per 10 Intelligence (previously both 2% per respective attribute). It also now provides 10% increased Weapon Damage per 10 Strength (previously 10% per 5 Strength). The per attribute changes will affect existing items, while a Divine Orb can be used to obtain the remaining value changes.
  • The Queen of the Forest Unique Armour now has "1% increased Movement Speed per 800 Evasion Rating" (previously 500). You can use a Divine Orb to update existing items to the new values. The value of this property is no longer modified by attribute effects from corruption, etc. This change does not affect existing items.
  • The Sandstorm Visage Unique Helmet now causes enemies in your Presence to gain Critical Weakness once per second for 15 seconds (previously 1 second). Existing items can be updated with a Divine Orb.
  • The Temporalis Unique Armour now provides -2 to -1 seconds to Skill Cooldowns (previously -4 to -2 seconds). You can use a Divine Orb to update existing items to the new values, but why would you?
  • The Trenchmaul Unique Mace now has "+1-2 to Level of all Minion Skills" (previously +1-3). Using a Divine Orb may lower the performance of existing items.
  • The Ventor's Gamble Unique Ring now has "-25 to +25% increased Rarity of Items found" (previously -40 to +40%).
  • The description of the Tombfists Unique Gloves' property now correctly states that Allies, rather than Minions, must be near the player.
  • The text on the Solus Impetus Unique Helmet and the Gemling Legionnaire's Magmatic Plating Ascendancy Passive Skill has been changed to better reflect that the effects stack with each other. There is no functional change.
  • The descriptions of the Black Scythe's Education, Circle of Guidance, and Knight's Precept Timeless Jewel keystone nodes have been changed to avoid implying that the bonuses being changed are direct bonuses to the stat.
  • The values of old Jewel properties that grant increased Damage over Time Multiplier to key passive skills have been changed to 5-10% (previously 10-20%). You can use a Divine Orb to re-roll existing items to the new values.
  • The values of old Jewel properties that grant Ailment Damage Acceleration to key passive skills have been changed to 2-3% (previously 3-7%). You can use a Divine Orb to re-roll existing items to the new values.
  • The values of old Jewel properties that grant increased Energy Generation to key passive skills have been changed to 4-12% (previously 5-15%). You can use a Divine Orb to re-roll existing items to the new values.
  • Old Jewel properties that grant Warcry Buff Effect to key passive skills can no longer be obtained.
  • The name and text of the Heroic Tragedy Timeless Jewel keystone node now matches the corresponding Expedition Leader. The keystone node governed by Olroth is "Knight's Precept", the keystone node governed by Medved is "Circle of Guidance", and the keystone node governed by Vorana is "Black Scythe's Education". This change does not affect existing items.

Item Changes

  • The function of Jeweller's Orbs has been changed to set the number of Support Gem Sockets on a Skill Gem to a fixed number, rather than adding Support Gem Sockets to a Skill Gem that already has a certain number of Support Gem Sockets. For example, you can now use a Perfect Jeweller's Orb on a Skill Gem with 2 Support Gem Sockets to create 5 Support Gem Sockets.
  • The names of Advanced Item Base Types and Specialised Item Base Types are now distinct.
  • Runes are now divided into 3 tiers. For example, Storm Runes are now divided into Lesser Storm Runes, Storm Runes, and Greater Storm Runes. You can now go to a vendor to reforge 3 Lesser Runes of a type into 1 normal Rune of that type, and 3 normal Runes into 1 Greater Rune of that type.
  • The Rune drop rate has been doubled.
  • It is no longer possible to reforge 3 Runes into 1 random Rune at a vendor.
  • It is no longer possible to reduce a property value of 1 to 0 by using a Vaal Orb on an item.
  • Base damage of all Crossbows has been increased. In addition, Crossbows were originally using the one-handed version of the added damage property, but now use the two-handed version.
  • Physical Damage over Time on Rare Item properties has been buffed by up to 3.5x at the highest tier, with the buff gradually decreasing as the tier decreases, with no change to the lowest tier properties.
  • The values of "increased Rarity of Items found" properties on items have been lowered at higher tiers. Suffix properties now go up to 25% at the highest tier (previously 30%), and Prefix properties now go up to 25% at the highest tier (previously 32%).
  • Golden Amulets now have 15% increased Rarity of Items found (previously 20%).
  • Fractured Rings now have a fixed property of "Up to 40% Quality" (previously 50%). You can use a Divine Orb to update existing items to the new values.
  • The chance of Fractured Rings appearing has been greatly reduced.
  • Key Passive Skills in each class's starting area can no longer be obtained through Refined Emotions or Unique Items such as Grandiose Delusions. Existing items that did not correctly display the infused Sorceress/Witch starting area Key Passive Skill (because that Key Passive Skill is different for the Witch than for the Sorceress or other classes) will not be fixed.
  • Jewel properties that provide similar benefits to newly-added passive skills in the Passive Skill Tree, such as "increased maximum Life of Minions", have been added.
  • Jewel and old Jewel properties that provide stats that are sparsely located in the Passive Skill Tree, such as "increased Blind Effect" or "Life Leech from Damage taken", have been adjusted. Overall, the minimum value remains the same, but the maximum value has been lowered.
  • Jewels or old Jewels can no longer have properties that increase the effect of your Aura Skills.
  • The values of "of the Arrowhead" Jewel and old Jewel properties that increase the bonuses you receive from equipped Quivers have been changed to 4-6% and 2-3% respectively (previously 5-15% and 3-7%).
  • The values of Jewel properties that grant increased Energy Generation have been changed to 2-6% (previously 3-7%). You can use a Divine Orb to re-roll existing items to the new values.
  • The Soul Core of Azcapa has 5% increased quantity of Gold dropped by slain Enemies (previously 10% increased Rarity of Items found).
  • The values of Jewel corruption properties that provide +5-10 to specific stats have been changed to +4-6.
  • Corrupted properties that provided "1-2% of Life Regenerated per second" on Helmets and Rings can no longer appear. These properties have been replaced with new corrupted properties that provide "1-2% increased Life Regeneration Rate".
  • Sceptres can now only roll up to +4 to Level of all Minion Skills (previously +5). Existing items are unaffected.
  • Sceptres can now only roll up to 80% increased Presence Area of Effect (previously 30%). A Divine Orb can be used on existing items to obtain these new values.
  • The values of Amulet properties that provided "5-6%, 7-8% or 9-10% increased maximum Mana" have been changed to 3-4%, 5-6%, 7-8% respectively.
  • Belts, Gloves, and Boots can now only have up to +105-124 to maximum Mana.
  • Helmets can now only have up to +125-149 to maximum Mana.
  • Wands, Sceptres, Staves, and Orbs can now only have up to +150-164 to maximum Mana.
  • Rings can now only have up to +165-179 to maximum Mana.
  • The Corrupted property on Gloves that provided "20-30% increased Slowing Strength of Debuffs you inflict" can no longer appear.
  • The values of the first two tiers of "Adds Elemental Damage" weapon properties have been lowered.
  • The values of the first two tiers of "Adds Lightning Damage" weapon properties have been slightly lowered.
  • Relic properties that grant additional choices to vendors now only grant 1 additional choice (previously 2-3). Using a Divine Orb may ruin existing items.

Monster Changes

  • In boss fights where certain actions must be performed to progress the fight, the boss will now become immune to damage if their life is far beyond the point where that action should be used. Most players will not notice this change, but it will prevent situations where the boss is permanently crowd-controlled and the fight cannot progress.
  • Armour on all monsters has been reduced by 30%.
  • Soul Eater on Monsters now grants 1% Skill Speed and 1% less Damage taken per stack (previously 5% and 2%). Now stacks to a maximum of 50 (previously 45).
  • The life of the final bosses "Olroth, Origin of the Fall", "Jesht, the One", "King in the Mists", and "The Ash Arbitrator" has been adjusted. Maximum life is now approximately 50% of what it was at difficulty 0, increasing as the difficulty increases, and is the same as before at difficulty 4.
  • The life of the Trialmaster and Zarakai, Time's Dissolution has been reduced.
  • The final bosses "Olroth, Origin of the Fall", "Jesht, the One", "King in the Mists", and "The Ash Arbitrator" no longer penetrate armour.
  • The rate at which some skills used by The Ash Arbitrator convert damage to other elements has been lowered.
  • Corrected the duration of the diminishing damage reduction buff granted to The Ash Arbitrator.
  • The damage of some abilities used by The Ash Arbitrator has been increased.
  • The damage of the Sky Reaver's Vomit abilities has been increased.
  • The damage of the Chimeric Zyclusian's Leap Slam has been increased.
  • The damage of the Trialmaster's Channelled Blood Slam has been increased.
  • The damage of the Raphique of the Frozen Spring's Multi-Slam skill has been increased.
  • The damage of the Stoneclad Gorilla's Leap Slam has been decreased.
  • The damage of the Mighty Silverfist's Evasive Roll has been decreased.
  • The damage of Olroth, Origin of the Fall's Dash skill has been increased.
  • The damage of the Sand Mother Ashar's Poison Spit has been reduced.
  • The Saturncrusher is now resistant to Cold and vulnerable to Fire.
  • Lowered the damage of It that Hate's Chaos Quicksand Skill.
  • Count Geonor's 180 degree Swipe attack can no longer be blocked.
  • The amount of small stun damage dealt by monsters is now higher, and increases more with level. It is the same as before in the very early campaign, and approximately double what it was in the endgame.
  • The maximum number of monsters that can be alive at the same time in Ritual Encounters has been lowered, primarily in the early game.
  • The rate at which Electrocute accumulates on non-player targets is approximately 44% slower.
  • The rate at which Immobilise accumulates on non-player targets is approximately 58% slower.
  • Magic enemies, Rare enemies, and Unique enemies are now Stun-Ready when they have accumulated 50%, 60%, and 70% or more Stun (previously 60%, 70%, and 80% respectively).
  • Magic enemies, Rare enemies, and Unique enemies are now Electrocute-Ready when they have accumulated 50%, 60%, and 70% or more Electrocute (previously 60%, 70%, and 80% respectively).
  • The life of the destructible pillars in the Chimeric Zyclusian's arena has been increased.
  • Added Enhanced Rare Monster properties. These are more powerful than normal properties, but grant more rewards.
  • Some Rare Monster properties now scale with level in high-level areas, granting more power and better rewards.
  • Zarakai, Time's Dissolution no longer targets non-player characters with his Rewind skill.
  • The Woodling Fungusfiend Ritual Monster now deals damage correctly, and its damage and behaviour have been adjusted.
  • The Bloated Thresher now pushes players to the side when it charges, rather than dragging them along.
  • The Shield Charge of the Bloated Defender can no longer be blocked.
  • Deadly Rare Monsters now grant Rare Monsters 1 additional property (previously 2).
  • Minions of Rare Monsters are now more defensively powerful, and now scale more appropriately in party play.
  • The power of the "Powerful Minions" property has been reduced to match the above changes.
  • If the player is resummoned at a checkpoint after killing the guaranteed Magic Monster near the Dreadnought exit, those monsters will not be resummoned.
  • Various Fungus-themed monsters are now resistant to Cold and vulnerable to Fire.
  • The damage and number of projectiles fired by the Skyseer Valak's Feather Spray skill has been slightly reduced.
  • The Iron Enforcer no longer uses the Tentacle Grab skill.
  • The name of the boss of the Pools Map has been changed from "The Eater of Children" to "Bracca, the Withered Matron". She still eats children, though.
  • Patrolling monsters can no longer be trapped in Essences.
  • Gradually improved monster behaviour.

  • The Ascent to Power quest now requires you to open the Halani Gate before you can progress to the Sekhema's Trial.
  • The Right of Passage quest now ends when you enter the Ardu Caravan in Act 2, rather than after speaking to Zarkha in the Bastiri Outskirts.

User Interface Changes

  • You can now spectate party members when you die during combat.
  • You can now move the minimap overlay when using a controller.
  • You can now see an indicator around your character showing the radius of approach when hovering over any 'Approach' keyword.
  • You can now hover over a skill in the skill bar to see a brief description of how the skill works, and a button to open the skill information window.
  • You can no longer close the Imbuing Menu while an item is placed in it.
  • The game is now paused when the Ritual Reward Menu is opened.
  • Gem level filtering in Item Filters now applies to Uncut Gems.
  • Changes are now more clearly highlighted when levelling up a Gem.
  • Improved the visibility and readability of text and icons below monster life bars.
  • Values displayed in the Character Window and Skill Information Window have been improved in a number of ways. For example, the Character Window now displays Energy Shield Recharge Delay and Ailment Threshold with various properties applied, and the Skill Window now displays more detailed Ailment and Hit Chance information. There have been many other changes as well.
  • A HUD icon is now displayed when Item Nameplates are turned off while using a controller.
