Medieval zombie survival simulator, 'God Save the Birmingham' gameplay revealed

Kakao Games (CEO Han Sang-woo) announced on the 28th that it has released a new trailer for the open-world zombie survival simulator 'God Save Birmingham' being developed by Ocean Drive Studio (CEO Kim Hee-jae).

'God Save Birmingham' is a new PC game being prepared for Steam Early Access release by premium indie game developer Ocean Drive Studio. Set in 14th century Birmingham, England, the game tells the story of a desperate struggle to find food, water, and other necessities for survival and to find safe places in a city full of zombies.

‘God Save Birmingham’ was first unveiled at ‘Gamescom 2024’ last year and received favorable reviews from many attendees for its ▲unique worldview of the medieval zombie survival genre ▲realistic graphics and physics effects implemented with Unreal Engine 5 ▲creative combat system using surrounding objects ▲detailed depictions ranging from bedding, tables, and cooking utensils.

The new 9-minute game trailer released this time provides a glimpse of the realistically implemented 14th century medieval Birmingham, England, three-dimensional gameplay utilizing terrain, tension-enhancing sound, and realistic physics engine.

In the video, the survivor moves a chair to climb to a higher place or uses a ladder to cross to the next building, using surrounding objects and terrain to escape the zombie-infested danger zone. You can also see the high-level physics engine, such as the dining table breaking under the character's weight or zombies tripping over stacked boxes.

'God Save Birmingham' is planned to be officially released on Xbox and PlayStation after continuous development after the PC version's Early Access release.

Meanwhile, Kakao Games has signed a global publishing contract for 'God Save Birmingham' to support localization and marketing for global release, and Ocean Drive Studio will be responsible for overall services such as game development and operation.

Kakao Games has previously signed global publishing contracts for 'Lost Eidolons: Witch of Deceit' and 'Section 13', which are being developed by Ocean Drive Studio.

More information on the new trailer and game for 'God Save Birmingham' can be found on the official Steam page.
