Asian Games gold medalist 'Maru' Cho Seong-ju wins the 2025 DreamHack Dallas!
The 2025 DreamHack Dallas wasn't just about the championship; reaching the semifinals guaranteed a spot in the 2025 Esports World Cup (EWC), the most important tournament of the year held in Saudi Arabia, making the competition fiercer than ever.

Recently in StarCraft 2, foreign players like 'Clem' and 'Serral' have been outperforming Korean players, but in this tournament with EWC tickets on the line, the Korean players shone.
After fierce qualifiers, the round of 8 included Shin Hee-bom, Kang Min-soo, Cho Seong-ju, Kim Joon-ho, Kim Do-woo (5 Korean players) and 'Clem', 'Serral', 'Reynor' (3 foreign players), with all 4 semifinalists being Korean. Cho Seong-ju, who won the championship, defeated Kim Joon-ho 3:2 in the quarterfinals, Kim Do-woo 3:1 in the semifinals, and Kang Min-soo 4:1 in the finals, winning the $15,000 prize (approximately ₩20,000,000) and securing a spot in the EWC.
Meanwhile, the 2025 EWC StarCraft 2 event, which will be held in Saudi Arabia starting July 22, has confirmed six participants: last year's champion 'Clem', 2025 GSL winner Kim Joon-ho, and Cho Seong-ju, Kim Do-woo, Shin Hee-bum, and Kang Min-soo, who reached the semifinals of this DreamHack Dallas.
