Gen.G 'Canyon' "AL is a team with good teamwork"

Gen.G defeated G2 Esports 3-1 in the first match of the 2025 MSI Bracket Stage, held at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, Canada on the 2nd. Gen.G, who looked shaky after a complete defeat in the first set, showed the Gen.G we know from the second set onwards, succeeding in a 3-game winning streak against G2 and winning 3-1.

After the match, 'Canyon' Kim Geon-bu said, "I was looking forward to the match against G2. It was difficult, but I'm glad we won." When asked what was difficult after losing the first set, he explained, "It wasn't a matter of condition, but in the case of the first set, we should have played aggressively in the early game, but as time passed, it became difficult to play the game. It was also difficult in terms of ban-picks."

And he stood out for getting 2 kills through the Rift Herald, and about this he said, "Jarvan didn't have Flash, so I thought I caught Jarvan, and I remembered Ezreal going up on the Rift Herald, so I went and I think I was lucky."

In the last set, G2 picked Dr. Mundo jungle, and 'Canyon' said, "I haven't faced Mundo. Mundo is strong, and our CC has few ways to remove Mundo's passive, so it definitely looked good. It seems like a good pick depending on the opponent's composition."

He continued, "I'm still not managing my condition well, but the food is delicious and I'm doing well except for adjusting to the time difference. AL is likely to come up in tomorrow's match, but FLY also has potential, so I don't think they'll lose easily. AL has good laning prowess, but I get the feeling that they have good teamwork, and that seems to be their biggest strength."

Finally, he concluded the interview by saying, "Thank you to the fans who have been cheering for us since early in the morning. I will try to win the remaining games with good performance so that you can start your morning in a good mood."
