Gen.G 'Duro' on International Debut: "Looking forward to facing AL with 'Kael'"

'Duro' Joo Min-gyu had a smooth international debut.

Gen.G defeated G2 Esports 3:1 in the first round of the 2025 MSI Bracket Stage today. After a complete defeat in the first set, it seemed a bit shaky, but it was unnecessary worry. From the second set, Gen.G showed the powerful performance they had in the LCK, defeating G2 with a loss-win-win-win and successfully advancing to the next round.

The following is the full interview with Gen.G support 'Duro' Joo Min-gyu.

Q. What are your thoughts on facing G2 in your first MSI and international tournament?

While playing today's match, I learned more clearly about G2's strengths. It was my first match in an international tournament, and it was a meaningful day because I felt like I was able to realize where I was lacking.

Q. What is your current condition and adaptation to the local environment? And could you briefly talk about scrims with overseas teams?

I think I've mostly adjusted to the time difference. It's a bit difficult to talk about scrims at the moment.

Q. The opponent's teamfight ability was very strong in the first set. What are your thoughts on the first set, and what did you talk about afterwards?

In the first set, the laning phase and gameplay didn't go as well as we had thought before the match, so we gave feedback focusing on the ban/pick and in-game aspects between sets. We mainly talked about improving the team's overall synergy.

Q. There's been talk that you and 'Canyon' achieved a complete victory in the jungle-support dominance battle, including in the third set. What are your thoughts on this?

I'm really grateful for that kind of feedback. However, I think the jungle and support were in a comfortable situation because all the team members did their part well overall.

Q. The next match is the winner of AL VS FLY. AL is likely to come up, but what kind of team do you think AL is? And is there a team or player you personally want to meet?

First of all, I think AL is a team that designs teamfights well. That's why I want to face them, and 'Kael' is someone I played with at FearX, so I'm looking forward to facing him again since then.

Q. Finally, would you like to say a word to the fans?

We reported our first win with a good feeling of 3 to 1 today, but there are still many games left, so if you continue to support us, we will do our best to climb to a high place.
