㈜넥슨(공동 대표 강대현∙김정욱)은 ‘메이플스토리’ IP 축제 ‘메이플 콘 2025(MAPLE CON 2025)’를 오는 8월 대만, 10월 미국에서 개최한다고 22일 밝혔다.

‘메이플 콘’은 ‘메이플스토리’ IP가 한자리에 모이는 대규모 프랜차이즈 축제로, 지난해 12월 일산 킨텍스에서 진행한 첫 번째 행사에 3일간 약 1만 명이 방문하며 큰 호응을 얻은 바 있다. Building on this success, this year the festival will expand to Taiwan and the United States, which are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the ‘메이플스토리’ service, and will communicate with local users through new participatory programs, sharing memories and emotions built with ‘메이플스토리’.

‘메이플스토리’ has established itself as a global IP that is loved not only in Korea but also overseas, with approximately 150 million cumulative overseas subscribers. Nexon plans to further solidify the ‘메이플스토리’ IP recognition through the overseas hosting of ‘메이플 콘’, and plans to continue expanding the ‘메이플스토리’ IP overseas, including Korea, starting with ‘메이플 콘’.

‘메이플 콘 2025 타이페이’, which will be held in Taipei, Taiwan from August 2nd to 3rd, will consist of an official merchandise store, ‘메이플 아일랜드’ concept sculptures and photo booths, merchandise customization programs, user participation stage events, and secondary creation sales. In addition, they plan to challenge the Guinness World Record for ‘Creating the Largest Human Orange Mushroom’ with a scale of over 2,000 people. As they succeeded in registering in the Guinness Book of World Records for ‘Creating the Largest Human Maple Leaf’ at a local event in 2017, many Taiwanese users are paying attention to this challenge.

Following this, ‘메이플 콘 로스앤젤레스 2025’ will be held in Los Angeles, USA at the end of October. As with the Taiwan service, they plan to prepare a variety of entertainment to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the global ‘메이플스토리’ service, and more detailed information will be released later.
