'Nikke' Apologizes for Pinch Hand Gesture + Poor Text Controversy... "Will Strengthen Review"
Yoo Hyung-seok, the director of 'Goddess of Victory: Nikke', has apologized for the recent controversy surrounding the 1,000-day service anniversary content and promised to improve the modification and review process.

Director Yoo Hyung-seok posted a notice titled 'Director's Comments Regarding 1000-Day Anniversary Content' on the official community on the 1st. The apology for the recent controversy over the pinch gesture issue and the event, as well as future responses, were conveyed through the notice.
Director Yoo stated that although a commemorative event was held to mark the special occasion of the 1,000th day, it failed to meet the expectations of the users. He also revealed the reason why the controversial content was included in the 1,000-day event, saying, "There was a serious problem in which the core review process was omitted, and the main development team, including myself, was unable to check the content and it was posted as is."
Previously, Level Infinite prepared various events to commemorate the 1,000th day of service of Shift Up's game 'Goddess of Victory: Nikke'. However, Rapi and Anis in the key visual image caused controversy by posing with a pinch gesture. Prior to the director's notice, Nikke announced that they were checking and correcting the issue after confirming the controversy, and that the resources were produced through overseas outsourcing companies and there was no hateful expression or intention.
In addition to the image, problems such as other languages being mixed in the web event text, unusual expressions, and incorrect content were also found, which was disappointing. Previously, some of the shapes in the key visual image were drawn in unusual compositions, which also fueled the controversy over AI production in images and text. The image also caused controversy as no problems occurred in the video released with the event.
Director Yoo mentioned the situation through the notice, saying, "The web event text became a poor message that did not convey even a sense of emotion to the commanders who have been playing for a long time, and there was no minimum of sincerity." Regarding the key visual image used, he said, "The overall quality was insufficient, and some expressions could be misunderstood in certain countries," and expressed his deep responsibility as the head of development.
Director Yoo, who apologized for the content, promised to supplement the gray area detection process with two layers and to completely overhaul the event review process for future measures. In addition, the key visual image is being modified and will be reflected as soon as it is ready. The unnatural parts of the web event text will also be adjusted and reflected.
