Nexon (co-CEOs Kang Dae-hyun and Kim Jung-wook) announced on the 21st that it has implemented the third summer update for its popular online game ‘MapleStory,’ including the new boss ‘The First Adversary.’

The new boss ‘The First Adversary’ can be challenged by characters level 270 or higher who have completed the ‘Odium’ region story quest. Up to 3-player parties can participate in Easy, Normal, Hard, and Extreme difficulties, and upon defeating the boss, rewards such as the medal ‘Immortal Legacy,’ ‘Exceptional Hammer (Medal),’ ‘Ancient Aeternel Armor Box,’ and ‘Adversaryroid’ can be obtained depending on the difficulty.

To commemorate this, the ‘Transcending Will’ event, which rewards players for defeating ‘The First Adversary,’ will be held until September 17. The first three parties in each world to defeat Extreme ‘The First Adversary’ will receive a ‘Battlefield of Proof Custom Background Exchange Ticket’ and a ‘5 Million Maple Point Exchange Ticket,’ and all users will receive congratulatory rewards such as an ‘Adversary Head Decoration Exchange Ticket’ and ‘4 VIP Sauna Tickets’ immediately after the first defeat. Additionally, all users who defeat ‘The First Adversary’ on Easy difficulty or higher during the event period will receive rewards determined by the difficulty.

In addition, large-scale improvements to the skill structure of each job will be carried out sequentially until October, and the overall combat experience will be improved by introducing the 'Ring Exchange' skill, which allows players to conveniently switch special skill rings during battle. Furthermore, with the update on the 21st, the boss reward system will be reorganized to match each difficulty level. The maximum number of weekly boss clears will be limited to 12, and a 'Chaos Black Accessory Box' will be added to the rewards that can be obtained when defeating Normal difficulty or higher 'Kaling,' 'Limbo,' and 'Baldrix.' Also, the amount of Sol Erda given by 'Limbo' and 'Baldrix' will be increased. Moreover, the mileage rewards for some weekly bosses, such as Extreme ‘Suu,’ will be increased from 200 to 400, refining the overall boss reward structure.

In addition, the new co-op event ‘Blooming Evernia’ will be held until September 17. All users will cooperate to collect ‘Wildflowers’ by defeating monsters within their level range, and each time the set collection amount is reached, set rewards such as ‘Eternal Golden Gear’ and ‘2,000 Superior EXP Exchange Tickets’ will be given. At this time, individual rewards such as ‘20 VIP Boosters’ will also be provided according to the individual collection amount. During the same period, a new event called ‘Sosoori's Walk’ will be held, which supports monster hunting and provides additional experience points up to 30 times a day by charging the gauge by defeating normal monsters.

In addition, various improvements will be applied to increase the convenience of the game, such as reorganizing the UI for chat windows, friends, and parties. From this update, ‘Tera Blink,’ which supports various game guides and ultra-fast growth up to level 200, will be provided permanently if the participation conditions are met. New furniture, ‘Limited Label’ display case furniture, and a ‘Maple Home Theme Extraction Ticket’ will be introduced to the ‘Maple Home’ content, and the possession and re-issuance process of ‘Genesis’ and ‘Destiny’ weapons will be improved.

Meanwhile, a new event providing various rewards for connecting to Premium PC Bangs will be held until September 18. Mileage, ‘VIP Sauna Tickets,’ etc. will be provided according to the daily connection time, and additional rewards will be given for weekend connections. In addition, ‘Sweet Spirit (30 days) Box,’ ‘30 Karma Black Cubes,’ and ‘30 Karma White Additional Cubes’ will be additionally provided according to the total accumulated time.
