Path of Exile 2: Thorns Build Best Class Tier List (Patch 0.3)
Based on the 0.3 patch, here's a tier list of classes suitable for Thorns builds in Path of Exile 2. Warbringer, Titan, and Witch Hunter are rated as S-tier, while Amazon and Deadeye are classified as F-tier. The tiers were determined by considering the strengths, weaknesses, and build direction of each class.

2. A Tier: Ritualist - The Value of an Extra Ring Slot and High Investment Cost
- ✅ Ritualist is one of the preferred Thorns build classes, in the top 3.
- ⚠️ However, Ritualist is surprisingly an expensive class.
- ⚠️ The third ring slot is very important, but requires additional investment.
- ⚠️ The starting area isn't great, so the travel distance to Thorns passives is long.
- ✅ The extra ring slot and ring/amulet enhancements are very important, but not suitable for league start.

3. F Tier: Amazon - Abilities That Don't Fit Thorns Builds
- ❌ Amazon is F tier and not suitable for Thorns builds.
- ❌ Amazon's leech bonus doesn't help with Thorns damage leech.
- ❌ Ranged Thorns builds are currently not viable.
- ❌ Accuracy-related abilities also don't help the build.
- ❌ Unless a new playstyle emerges, I wouldn't start or play a Thorns build with Amazon.

4. C Tier: Pathfinder - Potential but Limited Usefulness
- ⚠️ Pathfinder could be interesting if options for poison Thorns builds are added.
- ⚠️ However, Thorns attacks generally have low damage, making them unsuitable for poison builds.
- ❌ Ranged Thorns builds using flasks are currently impossible.
- ✅ Pathfinder can gain additional passive points and movement speed reduction effects.
- ⚠️ Movement speed reduction can be useful when using Resonant Shield and Fracture Wall support gems, but there's no reason to choose Pathfinder.

5. F Tier: Deadeye - A Class Completely Disconnected from Thorns Builds
- ❌ Deadeye is F tier, and there's no reason to play a Thorns build with it.
- ⚠️ Tailwind provides a slight boost to movement and skill speed, but is otherwise useless.
- ❌ Thorns skills can't be used for ranged attacks.
- ❌ Mark effects are also currently unhelpful.
- ✅ Slightly better than Amazon.

- ✅ Witch Hunter has the potential to be the best Thorns build class.

- ✅ Zealous Inquisition is a decent alternative to area-of-effect attacks.
- ✅ Magebane could be the best defense.
- ✅ Calling Strike and Decimating Strike are also decent.

9. B Tier: Katava's Blacksmith - Still a Solid Choice Despite Nerfs
- ⚠️ Katava's Blacksmith was nerfed in this patch.
- ⚠️ However, the nerfs won't significantly affect Thorns builds.

- ⚠️ You can grant Thorns enchantments to breastplates, but you have to sacrifice a lot of attack power.
- ⚠️ Still decent, but not the best choice for Thorns builds.

- ✅ Warbringer is very important in this patch.
- ✅ Scavenge Plating requires you to shred armor to gain stacks, and Scavenge Plating provides massive Thorns damage.
- ✅ You can't shred armor with Thorns damage, but Warbringer's Weight of the Anvil allows all damage to shred armor.
- ✅ Weight of the Anvil is very comfortable for Thorns builds.
- ✅ You don't have to worry about armor shred.
- ✅ When used with Avatar of Fire, you can also shred armor with fire damage.
- ✅ Warbringer can raise block chance to 75%.
- ✅ Warbringer is the most comfortable and safest choice for those playing Thorns builds for the first time.

- ⚠️ There's also potential for instant stack builds using Fracture Wall.

- ⚠️ Stormweaver is C tier, right behind Pathfinder.
- ❌ Currently, there's no reason to choose Stormweaver over Chronomancer.
- ⚠️ Stormweaver has potential for lightning Thorns and mana stack Fracture Wall styles.
- ⚠️ However, it's too far from the starting location, so leveling efficiency isn't good.
- ⚠️ Similar problems to Chronomancer, but Chronomancer's recovery effect is better.

- ⚠️ Infernalist is C tier.
- ⚠️ There's too much uncertainty about fire Thorns builds.

- ⚠️ Monk is C tier.
- ⚠️ I may have overlooked the potential of these two classes.
- ⚠️ There are many questions about weaponless combat styles.
- ❌ Monk is the furthest from the Thorns starting area.
- ❌ Monk tends to be forced into evasion energy shield builds.
- ❌ There are currently no features that support evasion and Thorns.
- ❌ Monk is in the worst location for Thorns builds.
- ⚠️ Invoker has potential for elemental Thorns styles.
- ❌ Chayula Monk has to use Scavenge Plating, so it can't use Soul of Darkness.
- ❌ Leech effects aren't very helpful.
- ⚠️ Even if Monk succeeds in the late game, the start will be difficult.
