MapleStory themed PC cafe in the middle of Gangnam, 'Maple Azit'

Nexon will officially open the 'MapleStory IP' themed permanent PC cafe 'Maple Agit' (MAPLE AGIT) from the 18th to expand IP contact with the public. 'Maple Agit', with a total of 177 seats and a size of about 200 pyeong, is the second 'MapleStory' IP permanent flagship space following 'Cafe MapleStory', which opened in Jeju last year. In addition to the PC cafe, there is also an MD goods store selling keyboards, headsets, and mouse pads.

Located on the first floor of a building in front of Gangnam Station Exit 4 in Seoul, it is expected to attract the attention of a large floating population. Nexon plans to develop 'Maple Agit' as a space for users to enjoy the 'MapleStory' IP game and as an offline community for all gamers, thereby solidifying the 'MapleStory' IP power that has been loved for 22 years.

Prior to the full-fledged PC cafe experience, Lee Dong-yeol had a session to explain the planning overview of Maple Agit. Lee humorously conveyed that "First of all, we are not trying to operate for a month or two and then quit," emphasizing that it is not a short-term business. He then stated, "This is a business that we started with long-term operation in mind, so we first selected Seoul, a region with a large floating population. Then, after reviewing Hongdae, Seongsu, Jamsil, and Gangnam, we found that Gangnam had good accessibility, so we created Agit at Gangnam Station Exit 4."

Lee Dong-yeol added to the uniqueness of Maple Agit, saying, "I haven't seen many PC cafes on the first floor." Lee explained, "Most PC cafes are located in the basement or on the 2nd or 3rd floor, but Agit is located on the first floor, so it can be a refreshing and good experience for gamers."

In addition, Lee introduced 'Super Play' and 'Samsung' as business partners. Super Play has experience operating flagship PC cafes such as the T1 base camp and Gen.G GGX, and he said, "We expect smooth and pleasant operation through the partnership." In the case of Samsung, he added, "We are pleased to provide a 4K, OLED monitor lineup that is difficult to find in general PC cafes through our partnership with Samsung."

Lee also emphasized that he paid a lot of attention to food and beverages, saying, "We hope that the MapleStory IP will be delivered in a familiar and delicious way through food and beverages," and concluded the business overview explanation.

In fact, after entering the interior and checking the monitor and PC specifications, it was prepared to the extent that there was no shortage of playing various games, including MapleStory. Thanks to Samsung Electronics' sponsorship, the monitors are OLED lineups such as OLED G5, G6, G7, and G8, which are difficult to see in general PC cafes. In the case of PCs, the general seats are RTX 5070, DDR5 32GB, and AMD 7500F, and the premium rooms and team rooms are RTX5070, 32GB of RAM, and AMD 9800X3D.

One thing that cannot be left out when it comes to PC cafes is food. Premium meals are provided to the extent that people say that they eat meals at PC cafes these days. As Lee Dong-yeol said, Maple Agit is also composed of a rich selection of food and beverages with a MapleStory theme. The meal menu includes 'Nemi's Lunch Box', 'Kilk Kilk Fried Rice', 'Galina Tomato Chicken Gangjeong', 'Gallus Garlic Chicken Gangjeong', and 'Eong Eong Sundae Fries'. The main beverage menu includes 'Pink Bean Strawberry Latte', 'Slime Green Grape Ace', 'Orange Mushroom Grapefruit Orange Ade', 'Yeti Plain Yogurt Smoothie', 'Stone Spirit Pistachio Smoothie', and 'Agit Elixir'.

To commemorate the opening of 'Maple Agit', from October 18th to November 2nd, various popular creators such as Pangiyo, Segeulja, Gamst, Mingyo, and Tayo will appear as PC cafe part-timers and directly operate the space and communicate with users in the 'Special Open' event with visitors who made reservations in advance. Each creator plans events with their own personality and communicates with visitors, and plans to convey the vivid atmosphere of the scene through live broadcasts.

A Nexon official said that the goal of this 'Special Open' is to realize social value together with users, creators, and game companies. During the ‘Special Open’ period, the amount calculated based on ticket and food and beverage sales revenue generated at Maple Agit and the cumulative views of live broadcasts on site will be donated in full to Nexon Children's Integrated Care Center 'Dotori House' under the name of 'MapleStory' users. Nexon explained that through this, Nexon plans to complete the 'Special Open' as a meaningful festival created together by the entire 'MapleStory' community, going beyond a simple opening event.
