Visit the Lands Between next year, 'Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition' release delayed to 2026

Switch 2 users' visit to the Lands Between has been postponed to next year.
According to the announcement on Elden Ring's official X account on the 24th, the release date for the 'Tarnished Edition' has been delayed to 2026 to improve performance.
'Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition' is a version of 'Elden Ring,' released in 2022, ported for the Switch 2. It was originally scheduled for release at the end of 2025.
However, users who experienced 'Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition' at the demo zone pointed out 'frame drops' and 'unstable performance,' which ultimately led to the release being postponed. Most users who tried it testified that the frame rate plummeted to 15 FPS even with light tasks, or that the frame time became drastically unstable when going out into the field.
As a result, Switch 2 users will be playing two FromSoftware games next year. One is 'Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition,' and the other is 'Dusk Blood,' a PvPvE-infused soulslike game released exclusively for the Switch 2.
Meanwhile, Elden Ring has continued to expand its platforms and release spin-offs since its release in 2022. The 'Tarnished Edition' is scheduled for release on Switch 2, and the spin-off 'Elden Ring: Ruler of the Night' is being released and operated on consoles and PC.
