In this video, I will introduce the Puppet Nemesis deck and provide detailed commentary on the deck list, favorable/unfavorable matchups in various scenarios, mulligan strategies, and gameplay, based on my experience of reaching 9th place in Beyond with this deck. I will also explain in detail the reasons for including 2 Pin Insertion cards.
- ✅ Deck composition without Liam
- ✅ Aim to finish within 8 turns
- ✅ Adoption of 8 types of Pin Insertion cards
This deck does not use Liam and aims to win within 8 turns. The reason for adopting as many as 8 types of Pin Insertion cards will be explained later in the video.
Performance:
- ✅ 352 wins and 12 losses from Ultimate to Beyond, 66% win rate
- ✅ Achieved 2 streaks of 7 consecutive wins
Favorable/Unfavorable Matchups:
- ✅ Favorable: Spellboost Rune (thanks to Orchis)
- ⚠️ Unfavorable: Loot Royal, Midrange Royal (Amelia), Discard Dragon (Wilbert)
- ✅ Going First: Marionette Lancer, Stone User, Ace Zwei (Babette, Cat Burglar not recommended)
- ✅ Going Second: Marionette Lancer, Stone User, Ace Zwei, Babette, Cat Burglar
- ✅ Prioritize early mana curve, focus on 2~3 cost cards
Going First: Marionette Lancer, Stone User, and Ace Zwei are must-keeps. Babette, Cat Burglar is not recommended due to the high probability of misplays. Prioritize the mana curve when performing mulligans in the early game.
Going Second: Basically the same as going first, but if you can play Zwei on turn 4 to apply pressure, keep Babette, Cat Burglar as well.
- Rune: Orchis (just be careful of Lhynkal)
- Nightmare: Dolls' Theater, Grand Guignol (if Zwei remains, Zwei+Cat on turn 6)
- Royal: Dolls' Theater + Automaton Knight (consider Orchis when going second)
- Dragon: Zwei, Field, Artifact (Grand Guignol is also good)
- Bishop: Orchis (consider Odin when going second)
- Forest: Dolls' Theater (Loxis Forest is easy)
Introducing mulligan strategies for each class. Keep Orchis against Rune to break through Normans, and use Dolls' Theater to deploy puppets against Nightmare. It is best to keep Dolls' Theater and Automaton Knight together against Royal. Keep Zwei and Field, Artifact against Dragon, and keep Orchis definitively against Bishop. Use Dolls' Theater against Forest, especially Loxis Forest, which is a favorable matchup for Puppet Nemesis.
- ✅ Zwei is essential against Destruction Portal
- ✅ Keep Orchis as well if you have Stone User
- ⚠️ Not recommended to keep Orchis alone
In the mirror match, you must secure Zwei. If you have Stone User, it is good to keep Orchis as well, but it is not recommended to keep Orchis alone, as you may lose the early tempo.
- ✅ Adopted Pin Insertion cards to respond to various decks
- ✅ Field, Artifact: Remove Dragon's Discard, Remove Rune's Guardian Golem
- ✅ Ciel: Nightmare 9-turn stealth kill
- ✅ 2 Noas: Turn 6 Noah+Cat, OrchisOrchis plan
- ✅ Beelzebub, Luria: Prevent hand disruption
- ✅ Dolls' Theater: Hand destruction after turn 7
- ✅ Liam: Excluded because the synergy with Luria is weak
I adopted Pin Insertion cards to respond to various decks. Field, Artifact is used to remove Dragon's Discard and Rune's Guardian Golem. Ciel enables a 9-turn stealth kill against Nightmare. By adopting 2 Noas, I made it possible to choose the Noah+Cat, OrchisOrchis plan on turn 6. Beelzebub and Luria were adopted with only one copy each to prevent hand disruption. Dolls' Theater was adopted with two copies for hand destruction after turn 7. Liam was excluded because it was judged that the synergy with Luria was weak.
This deck may not look clean on the outside, but once you get used to it, it will be easier to win than decks with 3 copies of each card. Please master the deck through a lot of practice.
