War Thunder: New Equipment Preview to be Added in the 2026 Update
We take a look at the new equipment expected to be added to War Thunder through the major 2026 update. We analyze information, expected performance, and placement of the SU-15 interceptor, Palaria OF40 SPG, Arjun Mark1 tank, Hummel SPG, F-16 XL-1 fighter, and Japanese cruiser Tako.

3. 🇮🇹 Palaria OF40 SPG: Reinforcing the Italian SPG Line?
- ✅ The Palaria OF40 is an Italian SPG based on the OF40 tank chassis.
- ✅ It uses a 155mm Howitzer as its main armament and can fire every 15 seconds via an auto-loader.
- ✅ It uses HE shells and is expected to have a TNT equivalent of about 9kg.
- ✅ The top speed is 60km/h, and it is likely to be placed in the Italian tank destroyer line at BR 8.0.

4. 🇮🇳 Arjun Mark1 Tank: New Possibilities for Indian Tanks
- ✅ The Arjun Mark1 is the main battle tank of the Indian Army, similar to the Leopard 2A4.
- ✅ It features composite armor, a 120mm rifled gun, modern technology, and weighs 58.5 tons.
- ✅ It can load 42 shells, and APFSDS rounds are stored in a space with a blowout panel.
- ✅ It offers adjustable suspension and a top speed of 70km/h.
- ⚠️ It is expected to have a manual loading system with a reload time of 6.7~5 seconds.
- ⚠️ The penetration of the APFSDS round is estimated to be 300~350mm, and it is expected to be placed in the British Commonwealth line at BR 11.0.

5. 🇩🇪 Hummel SPG: Strengthening the German SPG Line

7. 🇯🇵 Japanese cruiser Tako: Japanese Cruiser Lineup Addition
- ✅ The Japanese cruiser Tako is a Japanese cruiser to be added to War Thunder.
- ✅ It boasts a full load displacement of 16,875 tons and a top speed of 35.5 knots (65.7km/h).
- ✅ The main armor is 38~127mm, and the initial armament was 10 20cm guns, 4 10cm guns, and 8 61cm torpedo tubes.
- ✅ Later, it was changed to 10 20cm guns, 8 12.7cm guns, 60 25mm guns, 16 torpedo tubes, and 24 depth charges.
