Stardew Valley: How to unlock the Sewers and inside info
This video explains how to unlock the Sewers in Stardew Valley and the content you can find there (Krobus, Mutant Bug Lair, Statue, Fish). To unlock the Sewers, you must donate 60 items to the Museum to receive the Rusty Key from Gunther.

2. 🔑 How to Unlock the Sewers by Getting the Rusty Key
- ✅ To unlock the Sewers, you must receive the Rusty Key from Gunther, the museum curator.
- ✅ To receive the Rusty Key, you must donate a total of 60 items to the museum, including artifacts and minerals.
- ✅ Minerals can be found by mining in the mines or by excavating artifact spots.
- ✅ Artifact spots look like wiggling worms in the ground and can be dug up with a hoe.
- ✅ Artifact spots appear more frequently in the winter and often spawn in Cindersap Forest, the Bus Stop, and the Mountain path above the Bus Stop.
- ✅ Geodes can be opened by Clint at the Blacksmith.
- ✅ To donate to the museum, put the item in your bag, walk up to the counter, and talk to Gunther.

3. 🐛 Mutant Bug Lair and Sewer Fish
- ✅ If you activate a certain quest, the Dark Talisman quest, you can unlock the Mutant Bug Lair on the far left side of the Sewers by talking to Krobus.
- ✅ You must find certain items in the Mutant Bug Lair while unlocking the Witch's Hut.
- ✅ In the Mutant Bug Lair, you can also catch a unique fish called the Slimejack and fight bug swarms.
- ✅ You can also catch other legendary fish in the Sewers, such as the Mutant Carp and the Radioactive Carp.

4. 🗿 Statue of Uncertainty and Changing Professions
- ✅ There is a very large statue in the Sewers. This is the Statue of Uncertainty.
- ✅ You can use this statue to change your professions.
- ✅ When you reach skill levels 5 and 10, you will be prompted to choose between two options for that skill level.
- ✅ You can switch professions using this statue, but it costs money.
- ✅ It costs 10,000 gold to switch professions at this statue.

5. 👤 Krobus: A Shadow Person You Can Befriend
- ✅ Krobus is a new character you can meet in the Sewers.
- ✅ He is not a romantic interest, but you can befriend him and have him move in and become your roommate.
- ✅ He is a shadow person and the only friendly monster you can meet in the game.
- ✅ He loves Diamonds, Iridium Bars, Monster Compendium books, Monster Musk, Pumpkins, Void Eggs, Void Mayonnaise, and Wild Horseradish.
- ✅ He has a shop with certain stock items and rotating items similar to the Traveling Cart.
- ✅ You can buy a Stardrop from him the first time you meet him.
- ✅ Other unique items that Krobus sells in his shop include Butterfly Powder, the Crystal Floor recipe, the Wicked Statue recipe, the Wizard Catalog, and the Return Scepter.
