Delesia (City of Science and Alchemy)	The most technologically advanced region in Pywell. Science and alchemy coexist, giving rise to technologies like missile mechs and mechanical dragons. Players can pilot mechs to use rockets, launchers, and EMPs, and ride dragons for fire attacks. This region embodies Crimson Desert's unique identity, featuring mechs in a medieval fantasy setting.
Crimson Desert (Lawless Wasteland)	A vast desert covered in red sand, also the game's title. A lawless zone where dangerous enemies lurk. A desert-based cult worships a powerful ancient god; information about this cult is a major, unrevealed plot point.
Abyss (Unknown Space)	A realm of floating islands in the sky, a blend of pure power, primal magic, and technology. Mysterious beings interested in Klif reside here, granting him object manipulation abilities similar to the Zelda series. Abyss Fragments are key resources for character growth, and Abyss Traces serve as fast travel points. The imbalance of the Abyss, with fragments falling across the continent, and those seeking to exploit its power to plunge the world into chaos, forms the foundation of Crimson Desert's entire narrative.

· The Pywell continent is currently in a state of war, with various factions clashing over their interests, and the in-game faction map can change in real-time based on player actions.

Grayfang (Guardians of Peace, Yet Defeated)	Mercenaries from Paelun in northern Pywell, 'good guys' who help and protect people. Before the game starts, their leader Jihan dies in a Black Bear night raid, leaving them decimated. The surviving members flee to Hernand and attempt to rebuild, marking the beginning of the game.
Black Bear (Cruel Enemy)	The Grayfang's sworn enemy and the main antagonistic force in the game. A belligerent faction led by Mjordyn, responsible for the surprise attack that decimated the Grayfang. They are not mere raiders but expand their influence and incite internal rebellions amidst the continent's chaos, engaging in political maneuvering.
Demenis Kingdom (Collapsing Order)	The continent's order crumbles as the king who unified Pywell falls into a coma. Klif and the Grayfang, originally far removed from politics, find themselves in a position to determine the continent's fate as the story progresses.
Threat of the Abyss (The Real Threat)	According to the Library of Providence managed by alchemist Alustin, certain beings seek to bring chaos and reduce everything to nothingness. The previous leader, Jihan, knew of this threat and was tasked with maintaining the Abyss's balance, but he died. With Jihan's death, this mission falls to Klif.
Hernand Merchant Guild (Those Who Covet the Power of the Abyss)	Factional disputes are not just about the major powers. Their leader, Kailok, collects Abyss artifacts, enabling super-speed movement and magical wave attacks. Enemies also possess Abyss artifacts, demonstrating that the power of the Abyss is not exclusive to Klif.

Klif Macduff (Protagonist)	The current leader of the Grayfang Mercenaries and Martinus's son. He inherits the burden after the deaths of his father and the previous leader, Jihan. A 'warrior resurrected from death,' he was revived by beings connected to the Abyss after falling in battle against the Black Bear. Starting with personal revenge, he takes on a mission directly tied to the world's fate: maintaining the balance of the Abyss.
Damian Spencer	A swordsman who flies through the sky. His family origin, why he joined the Grayfang, and what faction the 'Spencer' surname connects to are mysteries to be revealed in the game.
Unka	An Orc warrior who wields a massive axe. Despite his appearance, he is a philosophical character, with the contrast between his exterior and interior being a charming point. He follows Klif with a loyalty born from his own philosophy, not blind obedience.
Jihan	The former leader of the Grayfang, a legendary figure who unified Paelun and maintained peace. He dies in a Black Bear night raid before the game begins, but his legacy permeates the entire game. He worked with Alustin to carry out a secret mission to maintain the Abyss's balance, and his death signifies the Grayfang's downfall and the void left by the Abyss's guardian.
Yan	The Grayfang's strategist. Witty and cunning, he offers diplomatic solutions in complex political situations. He advises Klif to use his head instead of his sword.
Naira	The blade of the Grayfang. Versatile in combat and courageous, she never shies away from dangerous missions. A warrior who fights alongside Klif on the front lines, she survived the Grayfang's decimation and rejoined.
Mjordyn	The leader of the Black Bear and the game's main antagonist. He is responsible for the surprise attack that decimated the Grayfang. The casting of English voice actor Alastair Parker suggests he might be a complex, morally gray character rather than a simple villain.
Cassius	The one who abandoned Morg Castle. He was a subordinate of Marquis Stephan Rampord, Lord of Calphede, but allied with the Black Bear and instigated a rebellion. He proves that the Black Bear is not just a military force but also a political manipulator.
Alustin	An alchemist who knows the world's secrets and the manager of the Library of Providence.
