· We'll be looking at the new weapon 'Flint', added as part of the Dead Cells collaboration in the Terraria 1.4.5 update.
· This weapon, first revealed in 2022, is classified as a Hardmode item.
· While other Dead Cells collaboration items didn't gain much attention, 'Flint' started to gain recognition for its performance about a month after its release.

· Flint can be crafted after entering Hardmode using 24 units of a third-tier ore (Adamantite or Titanium) and 20 Hellstone.
· Since each third-tier ore requires 4 units of ore, a total of 96 units of third-tier ore are consumed.
· Hellstone can be mined with Dynamite in Hardmode, so if you have enough third-tier ore, you can craft it quickly even in early Hardmode.
· Unlike other collaboration items that require tricky conditions like Blood Moon, fishing, or specific events, Flint has the advantage of being easily craftable as long as you have the materials.

· Flint works by charging when you hold the button, and then releasing a power wave that strikes the ground when you let go.
· This attack is reminiscent of Terry Bogard from 'Fatal Fury' or Reinhardt from Overwatch.
· The wave is not fired when in mid-air without a surface to hit.
· The lack of a distinct impact sound when attacking from platforms might be a point of contention for players who value tactile feedback.
· It seems to faithfully replicate the motion from the original Dead Cells.

· Flint's biggest advantage is how easily it allows you to defeat the boss 'Eater of Worlds'.
· When summoning the Eater of Worlds, you don't need to build a separate arena; just use Flint's wave attack, aiming for the segments of the boss.
· The structure allows you to overwhelm it with damage as long as you avoid hitting its head.
· Previous weapons for fighting the Eater of Worlds had drawbacks like being hard to obtain (Daedalus Stormbow) or lacking versatility outside of boss fights, but Flint compensates for these weaknesses.
· It holds a significant place in the meta due to how easily it allows you to defeat the Eater of Worlds without an arena.

· Since Flint relies on its wave attack, ground combat is essential, and its x-axis specialization means it doesn't hit flying bosses effectively.
· Its versatility is lower compared to weapons with longer reach and bouncing effects, like the Shadowflame Knife.
· It's also a shame that its usefulness diminishes after defeating one mechanical boss.
· It's a bit disappointing that it's a melee weapon; some suggest that if it were a mana-consuming magic weapon, it could have also helped balance the Mage class in early Hardmode.

· Flint is a great weapon that can be easily used in early Hardmode.
· It shows particularly powerful performance when fighting the Eater of Worlds.
· Although there are a few drawbacks, considering its crafting difficulty and performance, it's definitely a recommendable item.
