Hanwha Life Esports defeated T1 in the second round of the '2023 LoL Champions Korea (LCK)' Summer Split regular season held at LoL Park Jonggak on the 21st, securing their spot in the playoffs with a 9-5 record. Of course, T1 was without 'Faker', but Hanwha Life showed off their improved performance and continued their good momentum.

The following is the full interview with head coach Choi In-kyu and 'Kingen' Hwang Seong-hoon.

Q. What are your thoughts on winning today's match?

Choi In-kyu: It was a match I wanted to win but was also worried about, so I'm satisfied with the 2-0 victory. The opponent's picks and bans were within our expected range, and we also had some luck in-game. Besides that, the players have made fewer mistakes than before.

'Kingen' Hwang Seong-hoon: We won the first set in a one-sided manner, but we made a lot of individual and team mistakes in the second set. However, we found a breakthrough and overcame the crisis well. It was a match where both problems and satisfactory points came out. When the picks and bans were set, we were able to facilitate team movements by accurately grasping our strengths and the opponent's strengths.

Q. What did you prepare specifically for today's match?

Choi In-kyu: The tactics don't change regardless of which mid laner plays. We prepared by understanding T1's frequent compositions and characteristics.

Q. In the second set, there was a solo kill.

'Kingen': I was so frustrated and angry. There were about three points where I could have won, but I couldn't capitalize on them. When I died at the end, I should have used Q skill faster. I didn't know if Conqueror stack was full stack and tried to fill it a little more, but I died.

Q. 'Grizzly's performance was outstanding, wasn't it?

Choi In-kyu: 'Grizzly' has good basic stats. When 'Mowgli' coach talks and teaches him, his absorption ability is good. And his teamfight ability is really outstanding. Good scenes seem to come out when a combination and situation that maximizes that comes out.

'Kingen': He has a good ability to accept. He seems to know how he can blend into the team, and he seems to blend well with any combination or play.

Q. The 13.13 patch will be in progress for a week.

Choi In-kyu: There are many mid lane patches. The top priority is to quickly sort out those parts.

'Kingen': Aatrox stands out. If I get the chance, I want to show you my performance with my skin as soon as possible.

Q. Finally, what would you like to say?

'Kingen': There is not much of the regular season left. I will try to show you the best possible performance, and I am confident that I can. I hope you will continue to trust and watch over me until the end.
