1. 😭 5th Place: Lamenters - The Curse of Endless Misfortune
· The Lamenters are a successor chapter of the Blood Angels who inherited the twin curses of the Red Thirst and the Black Rage after the death of their Primarch, Sanguinius.
· In their attempt to eradicate these curses, they instead acquired a new curse: a genetic predisposition to misfortune, causing every operation to end in failure.
· Unforeseen calamities constantly plague them, such as Warp storms, sudden desertion by allies, and the precise timing of enemy reinforcements. Even allied legions are reluctant to fight alongside them.
· They have endured numerous disasters, including the tragedy of rescuing 3 million slaves only to be forced to destroy the planet, a 100-year penitent crusade, and the Kraken invasion where only 3 out of 10 companies survived.
· To make matters worse, the Black Rage they tried to cure has begun to manifest, further jeopardizing the chapter's survival in a situation where recruiting new battle-brothers is forbidden.

2. 🐺 4th Place: Space Wolves - The Curse of Lycanthropic Transformation
· After the disappearance of their Primarch, Leman Russ, the Space Wolves have been afflicted by a genetic mutation called 'Canis Helix,' which causes wolf-like genetic changes.
· New recruits undergo this genetic transformation by drinking from the 'Wolf's Cup,' a violent process that twists their bones and causes hair to grow. Those who cannot endure it become beasts and vanish.
· Even if the transformation stabilizes, a phenomenon called 'The Wulfen' can occur centuries later during battle, causing them to transform into beasts again. They are no longer human but savage creatures.
· The 'Wolf Brothers,' a failed successor chapter from the past, collapsed when all its members became Wulfen, leading to a long-standing ban on creating successor chapters.
· Even the successor chapters of the Primaris Space Wolves, which emerged through the recent Ultima Founding, are succumbing to the Canis Helix. Only ancient warriors like the Beyond the Handed, who awaken once every hundred years, remember their lost Primarch.
Genetic MutationSymptoms and Outcome
Canis HelixInitial: Bone deformation, hair growth, predatory instincts, bestialization. Possibility of recurrence even after stabilization.
Wulfen PhenomenonSudden bestialization during combat, loss of speech, transformation into beasts.
Collapse of the Wolf BrothersAll members transformed into Wulfen, leading to the chapter's demise.

3. 💀 3rd Place: Iron Warriors - The Horror of Brother-Slaying
· The Iron Warriors, a Chaos Space Marine Legion, possess a brutal tradition known as the 'Edict of Decimation.' If an operation fails, one-tenth of the survivors are chosen by lot, and the remaining nine must execute them with their bare hands.
· This tradition has continued for 10,000 years, and every Iron Warrior has either participated in a decimation, been a target, or owes a debt from one.
· Rank within the Legion is gained through successful fratricide, with many Warsmiths seizing their positions by killing their predecessors.
· They must constantly be wary of betrayal from their comrades, as their subordinates are always eyeing their superiors' positions. Their Primarch, Perturabo, keeps robotic 'Iron Circles' as bodyguards, believing robots lack ambition.
· Their homeworld, Medrengard, is a place of industrial cities and lava flows, where flesh is gradually replaced by metal. Their motto is 'Iron Within, Iron Without.'

4. 👻 2nd Place: Exorcists - The Ritual of Demonic Possession
· The Exorcists are a Loyalist Space Marine chapter that performs a horrific ritual on their recruits: demonic possession, in order to hunt daemons.
· After standard training and gene-seed implantation, recruits are bound to a summoned lesser warp entity. They surrender their bodies to the daemon for at least 12 hours to several days, experiencing and remembering the entire ordeal.
· Afterward, the chapter's priests attempt to exorcise the daemon by reciting the 666 verses of the 'Liber Exorcismus.' The failure rate is so high that two reserve companies operate in addition to the standard ten.
· Survivors retain vivid memories of their demonic possession, and their bodies bear demonic marks such as scales, small horns, runic tattoos, and changing eye colors. They must undergo a painful surgical procedure called 'Horizon' to remove these marks.
· Recruits who are successfully purged are confined to a secret prison ship called 'Purgatorium' for 5,000 years, screaming, and are used as vessels to store daemons exorcised from other brothers. If this fact were revealed to the Imperium, the chapter would be declared heretical.

· The Emperor's Children are a legion dedicated to the Chaos God Slaanesh, pursuing the extremes of pleasure and sensation.
· After the corruption of their Primarch, Fulgrim, the apothecary Fabius Bile rewired the legion's nervous systems to perceive pain as pleasure. Initially, everything was ecstatic, but as their nervous systems burned out, they became unable to feel anything without extreme stimuli.
· After centuries of self-mutilation, torture, and drug abuse, they can only feel sensation through extreme acts, such as the destruction of planets.
· 'Noise Marines' are beings whose entire personalities have been replaced by an addiction to sonic stimuli, and their weapons fire liquefying sonic blasts.
· 'Lucius the Eternal' is an immortal being who biologically mutates into the body of anyone who kills him, provided they feel even a sliver of pride. The killer's consciousness is eternally trapped within one of the screaming faces etched into Lucius's armor.
