RimWorld 1.6 Performance Test: Is GitHub's Performance Fish Actually Useful?Performance Fish and Fishery mods, released on GitHub with RimWorld version 1.6 update. Not yet available on Steam Workshop. This video excludes theory and measures TPS (Ticks Per Second) through an extreme performance test summoning over 150 colonists simultaneously. The result was pure chaos, with log errors going wild. We honestly show whether this mod will save the game or if it's better not to install it.
RimWorld 1.6 Performance Test: Is GitHub's Performance Fish Actually Useful?
1. 🎮 How to Install and Apply 'Local' Mods from GitHub
· Performance Fish and Fishery mods can be downloaded from GitHub. After unzipping, you need to copy them directly into the 'mods' folder.
· For the mod folder structure, you must copy the top-level folder that includes the 'about' folder. If there's another folder inside, it won't be recognized.
· When using RimSort, you can manage errors by utilizing the 'Add to Ignore List' option after updating mods.
· Set the load order as PrePatcher, Fishery, and Performance Fish, ensuring they load before DLCs.

2. ⚙️ Optimized Mod List Setup and Performance Test (Without Performance Fish)
· In the video, a simple mod list was configured including only essential mods like Quality of Life and Combat Extended.
· This mod list already includes performance optimization mods and will be covered in detail in a separate video later.
· Compatibility errors with the Graficet in Plus mod may occur, but this can be resolved by updating either Graficet in Plus or Performance Fish mods.
· Remove the Butter Plus mod and add Dubbs Performance Analyzer to prepare for TPS measurement.
· Test the base performance with Performance Fish, Fishery, and PrePatcher mods excluded.

3. 💥 Performance Degradation Test When Summoning Over 150 Colonists (Without Performance Fish)
· Enable developer mode, summon a large number of colonists, and create farmlands, dumps, and warehouses to increase the load.
· Initial TPS is maintained at 58-60, but when the colonist count reaches 152, it drops to 45-48 TPS, and the game starts to slow down.
· With 150 colonists and complex base construction, TPS noticeably decreases, making gameplay difficult.
· Confirm the performance limits without Performance Fish, Fishery, and PrePatcher mods applied.

4. 📉 Performance Test After Applying Performance Fish and Error Occurrence
· After applying Performance Fish, Fishery, and PrePatcher mods, restart the game.
· Numerous log errors occur at the start of the game, with Korean translation errors being particularly noticeable.
· Summoning over 150 colonists under the same conditions as the previous test causes TPS to drop sharply to 30-40, and error messages continue to be output.
· Potential conflicts with previously used performance optimization mods are suggested, and a phenomenon where performance further degrades when using Performance Fish alone is observed.
08:24 - 10:09
5. 🤔 Recommendation for Current Performance Fish Version and Additional Tests
· The current version of Performance Fish is not recommended as it causes log errors and performance degradation.
· It's best to wait for bug fixes after its release on Steam Workshop.
· Adding mods while loading a saved game might be the cause of the problem, so a test is conducted by starting a new game.
· Even in a new game, summoning over 150 colonists maintains TPS in the 30-40 range, showing similar performance degradation as the previous test.
10:10 - 12:21
6. 💡 Performance Fish Standalone Test and Comparison with Existing Optimization Mods
· All previously used performance optimization mods are disabled, and only Performance Fish is activated for a standalone test.
· Even in this state, summoning over 150 colonists causes TPS to drop sharply to the 10-20 range, showing more severe performance degradation than previous tests.
· In conclusion, the current Performance Fish mod does not significantly help improve performance when used alone or with existing optimization mods, and can even cause problems.
· We plan to release a new video introducing better performance optimization mods in the future.

7. 🚀 Final Conclusion and Future Video Preview
· For now, it's best not to use the Performance Fish mod, and we recommend waiting for its release and updates on Steam Workshop.
· The video creator will soon release a video introducing the best performance mods optimized for RimWorld version 1.6.
