[Town Star] Power Plants and Energy System for Higher-level Facilities

As your town continues to develop, you will start using industrial or higher-level production facilities that require a new resource called Energy. It can be obtained from Wind Turbines, Power Plants, and Nuclear Power Plants. When industrial workers store Energy (Battery) in Warehouses, other production facilities often make use of it.

Also, Power Plant and Nuclear Power automatically provide Energy to nearby tiles. It’s best to place them next to Energy-requiring facilities such as the Refinery or Cakery. (TownStar Visualizer Link)

Wind Turbine
- Basic Energy-producing facility
- Relatively low Energy (Battery) production
- Shades 2-tile radius
- No pollution
- Influenced by wind flow (e.g. tall buildings nearby lower production speed)
- Does not provide Energy automatically; must have an industrial worker
- Move on from using three or four Wind Turbines to using Power Plant or Nuclear Power

Power Plant (Petroleum)
- Uses Petroleum
- Highest Energy (Battery) production
- Shades and pollutes 3-tile radius
- Automatically provides 1 to 3 units of Energy to the same area
- Used as the ultimate Energy facility in a town that cannot build Nuclear Power

Nuclear Power
- High-tech power plant facility
- Relatively high Energy (Battery) production
- Shades 4-tile radius; no pollution
- Automatically provides 1 to 4 units of Energy to the same area
- Requires Steel, so it can only be built in a town near mountains
- It’s not advised to place it near crops because of shades

▲ Place Energy-requiring facilities like Refinery, Cakery, or Lumber Mill near Power Plants to take advantage of auto-supply.
