Upon entering a new region, you see a number of exclamation marks indicating quests, which can be confusing. When you're not sure where to go, don't think too much. Green mark is the main quest and yellow marks are sub quests. So just focus on following the green mark. But if you miss out on all the sub quests, you won't get enough EXP and rewards. Then you might have a hard time hunting monsters as their level may be higher than yours.

So if you've entered a new region, check the completing location of the main quest, and complete all sub quests that fall into your route. For example, in the below image, sub quest locations in the 12 o'clock position are far away from the main quest location, so prioritize completing these quests.

But you have to remember that quests in the 7 o'clock position should be carried out later. The location is on the way to moving on to the next region, so those two should be the last quests of this region. If you still don't get it, use monsters' level to set your priority. If monsters' level is higher than yours, visit that area later.
