Isn't it frustrating when you open a booster pack and only get a bunch of the lowest ◆ rank cards?

The probability of getting a card of a certain rarity is strictly determined.

Here's a breakdown of how cards are determined in booster packs and the appearance rates for each rarity!

✅ Card Determination Stage 1: Basic Pack vs. Rare Pack Lottery

First, a lottery is held to determine whether the booster pack is a rare pack or not.

Among the booster packs, there may be a pack called a rare pack (god pack), and this pack, which appears with a 0.05% probability, contains only cards of ★ rank or higher.

The remaining 99.95% chance is to get a basic booster pack.

The subsequent process differs slightly depending on whether it is a basic pack or a rare pack.

✅ Basic Pack Card Determination Stage 2: Rarity Lottery

In the second stage, the rarity (rank) of the 5 cards is determined.

The 1st to 3rd cards out of 5 are always confirmed to be ◆ rank, and the remaining 4th and 5th cards are ◆◆ rank or higher.

The 4th card has a very high probability of being ◆◆ rank at 90%.

The 5th card has a higher probability of getting a higher rank than the 1st to 4th cards, such as ◆◆ rank 60%, ◆◆◆ rank 20%, ◆◆◆◆ rank 6.664%.

✅ Basic Pack Card Determination Stage 3: Card Lottery from Rarity Candidate Group

Once the rarity of the card is determined, the last step is to determine exactly which card to get.

It is determined which cards can appear for each rank in the Charizard Pack, Pikachu Pack, and Mewtwo Pack.

For example, if it is determined to be ◆◆ rank in the 4th card in the Charizard Pack, you will randomly get one of the 35 types of candidate cards.

✅ Rare Pack Card Determination Stage 2: Random Lottery from Candidate Group

In the basic pack, the rank is determined first and then the card is determined, but in the rare pack, one card is randomly drawn from all target cards.

In other words, one Crown rank card and one ★ rank card have the same probability.

Therefore, the probability of getting a ★★★ rank Immersive card or a Crown rank card in a rare pack is much higher than in a normal pack.

Note that the Crown rank cards included in the rare pack only contain the same type as the pack.

For example, if a rare pack is drawn in the Charizard Pack, you cannot get Pikachu or Mewtwo of the Crown rank.

❗ Mewtwo Pack Special Notes

The Mewtwo Pack has a difference from other expansion packs in the card candidate group that can be obtained when ★★ rank is determined.

The Mewtwo Pack's ★★ rank candidate group has 9 cards, which is 1 less than the Pikachu Pack or Charizard Pack's candidate group of 10 cards.

Therefore, if you want to get a specific ★★ rank card, the probability of obtaining it is slightly higher than other packs if it is included in the Mewtwo Pack.

(However, the probability of getting ★★ rank itself is the same for Mewtwo Pack and other packs)

This also affects rare packs.

In the Pikachu Pack or Mewtwo Pack, the probability of getting 1 out of 20 cards is 5%, but in the Mewtwo Pack, it becomes 1 out of 19 cards, which is 5.26%.

Therefore, if you win a rare pack, the probability of getting an Immersive or Crown rank card in the Mewtwo Pack is slightly higher.

However, this difference is so small that it is difficult to feel, as it needs to go down to the 4th decimal place, that is, 1/10,000th of a unit.
